Love coming here for the food. It is always consistently good and of the same quality!

This place is great! You must try the crab cakes which is hard to believe that a Mexican place would have good crab cakes. 4.99 lunch and it is good can not beat that with a stick. Great staff!

Great Mexican food! My husband and I love the Fiesta fajita platter for two and we always have leftovers. The salsa is one of the best around and much larger portion of cheese dip. The margaritas are very strong and good. Most of the time the service is quick and good.

Just tried this place for the first time the other day. What the heck have I been missing out on? The food here was amazing. I’ve been going to el maguey forever but the last year or so it really just hasn’t been doing it for me. Went here the other day and all I gotta say is holy $hit. The nachos were the best nachos I had in YEARS. I told the girl I wanted extra cheese dip on them and she did not play. Ground beef was flavorful. Cheese dip was amazing. Crumbled cheese on top as well as jalpeanos sour cream and guac. God they were good. Plating was beautiful also! Such a plus. I couldn’t finish it all either it was so big. I will 100 percent be back and even called the owner over to tell her what a good job she did with the food here. The margarita was Amazing as well. Super refreshing and not thick and sugary nasty like other places. It made me sad to see no one at the bar but myself and only a few heads in the restaurant. That needs to change. This place is the bomb. Try it. Period.

Don’t be fooled by the strip mall or the negative reviews. Everyone is a critic now. Even Cartman. Best Mexican around for miles ! There tacos are better than any you can find on Cherokee st. I live next to Cherokee and will make the drive out to this place anytime I’m craving Mexican. Good salsa, good margaritas, and love their sopes.

Very happy with this little place. More authentic than other places around the area. No to mention the owners are very friendly and family oriented. I try a torta(traditional Mexican sandwich) it was a great choice and cheap too for how big it was I definitely will be back

Horrible service. It took over 25 minutes to find a staff member to close out for our 2 drinks.

This place needs a serious management intervention. I came here on a double date Saturday night around 8pm… wasn’t crowded at all. The hostess asked if we wanted a booth or table, we said BOOTH, she sat us at a TABLE underneath a ceiling fan on full blast. Not sure if there’s a language barrier or what? No big deal though. No one came to take our drink orders so we moved to an open booth. The same hostess returned to take our drink order, I asked for a margarita on the rocks with salt. She didn’t write anything down. Ten minutes later a man placed a frozen margarita with no salt in front of me. At the same moment I see the woman from earlier walk past our booth shaking her head saying«it’s not on the rocks» under her breath! Hey lady — how about apologizing AND/OR communicating with your server AND/OR bring what I asked for?! I know mistakes happen, but ignoring the situation is only going to make your customers feel unappreciated. Food was mediocre. They brought one basket of chips and one salsa for my group of 4. We killed the salsa twice before our meal came and still none of the staff thought to bring more than one salsa for table. The queso cheese was watery and weird. A friend said she’d never experienced service like this here, and that the owner was really cool, though he or she was not around that night. I honestly probably won’t be back unless this staff decides to do one thing: TRY.

I love coming here. The food is great and the prices are really good. They offer a $ 4.99 lunch menu and you really can’t beat that. The entrée portions are so huge that I always end up with leftovers. The staff is extremely friendly and the place looks pretty cool. They have a bar area that’s really nicely done and the rest of the restaurant is very colorful and gives off good vibes. It’s never overcrowded, but that’s probably because it’s so hidden that I’m sure a lot of people don’t even know it exists. One of my favorite places in South County.

If you’re looking for a secret happy place in South County, here it is! I have been here a few times in the past year and each time I come I think, Why don’t I come here more often!!! Don’t let the outer hidden in a strip mall appearance trick you from shying away. You walk in and it’s like a ray of sunshine! Very bright colors and plenty of seating! The staff is very nice and helpful. The margaritas are great and I have not had a meal yet I’ve not been wowed by. Last visit was a lunch visit. I ordered the lunch sized beef fajitas. If you don’t want leftovers this is actually the perfect size for lunch or dinner! They didn’t come out«sizzling» which I was happy about since I tend to burn myself on that dang dish anyway. The meat was very well seasoned and the veggies were delish! Very flavorful. The rice and beans were great too! I hardly ever eat Mexican rice and beans unless they are authentic. So, next time you visit Home Depot, pop in to La Fiesta for a meal!

Need a lunch pick me up that won’t break the bank? La Fiesta is the place to go! We had heard about some really good offers that they had for lunch time and stopped by one day. They kept the chips & salsa flowing as we enjoyed drinks and our meals. My husband got fajitas where were sizzling and I got the mini chimichangas which were quite filling. Service was great, there were a few others there but they kept on their toes. Can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu!

I’m always amazed how similar most Mexican places are They bring out some bland chips and salsa and a menu that looks really familiar. This place happened to have tacos al pastor. It was a feast. 4 tacos and a side of rice and beans. Double corn tortillas, cilantro and onion, delicious pork and a decent side salsa. I think $ 10.99 is a little pricey though. Service was great, as we were the only ones in there(it was early). I’ll probably go back.

Do you like El Maguey, but find it a little too classy and upscale? I hope not. Because if you do, you’re a bonafide St. Louis Hoosier(not to be confused with the Indiana kind of Hoosiers, which are just regular folks). Anyway, if you do, bring your Stag tattoo and beer gut to La Fiesta for some very ordinary Mexican treats. If, on the other hand, you’re tired of American-style«Mexican» slop, you’ll want to stay well clear. They put the Meh in Mehxican. I’d go on, but they probably won’t be here much longer.

The first review for me! This place just opened within the last week. We decided to try this after Las Fuentes was really backed up and were going to close early. There were only two couples being served as we entered. The host was quick to seat us and take our drink order. The margaritas were ok; nothing special. The food was mixed; the wife had fundito(chorizo and cheese baked and served as a dip) I had burrito fajitas. My burrito was good, loaded with steak, onions, peppers. And black beans. The fundito was a rubbery mess; not really able to be dipped and somewhat tasteless. My wife was disappointed. Service was fine until we waited for the check! I ended up going up to use the restroom, along the way I noticed the waiter/host/bartender standing watching TV along with what looked like the cook who was doubling as the building maintenance person leaning on a broom; watching TV! Well it took about 10 – 12 minutes and talking load before we got the check! Did I mention the restroom looked clean but it Reeked! The smell will definitely kill an appetite! Sorry but as my first review it wasn’t even worth the $ 48 even with a good sized margarita! Oh yeah; did I mention the chips and salsa were pretty much standard; however the cheese dip was really watery and luke warm. The guacamole was ok again nothing that would make you come. back for more. I don’t see this place making it for very long; sorry but not even close to average even going through the«opening week jitters»!
