Wonderful food and setting, reasonable prices, and great beer and wine selection. Is it ‘real’ German cuisine? Mmm, it’s close, but ultimately it’s the quality you will love more than anything. We had venison chops PERFECTLY prepared. The steak, also perfect — exactly as ordered. Sometimes«rare» is subject to interpretation. After dinner, we strolled the water. That was so nice. The lights across the river were dreamy. Their prices are very reasonable. We will return. Bigs points for Köstritzer Schwarzbier on tap. I overheard someone ordering the Chocolate Cabernet(say what?) and later saying that it was quite good. The place was really loud though. My only wish was that we were not seated so close to others — too many tables arranged too closely together. It was difficult to have a conversation. It was as if the people next to us were at our table; they were not being loud and we could hear every word. Earlier, there was a boisterous party of four from Jersey. Every time they burst into laughter(which was a LOT), we all jumped. [Dear Owners — There are soundproofing solutions that will not change your décor but will make a world of difference to the dining experience.

My fiancé took me here for Valentine’s Day. We waited 40 mins for a table and it was well worth it. The food is amazing and absolutely satisfying. The staff is very friendly and the view is beautiful! I definitely recommend.

A charming place located on the river off A1A in Melbourne Beach. It is a cozy, subdued and relaxing. I am told that the view of the river is delightful, however we dined at night and could only see the lights reflecting off the water. The menu has lots of options plus they have daily specials. My hubby and I started with a glass of Merlot and a German Pilsner. They only serve beer and wine. We started with the Pâté. It was big enough to share and consisted of a various kinds of breads, crackers, poached pears, diced shallots, banana peppers, tomatoes and a delicious German mustard. Next came the house salad. It had spring leaf lettuce, tomatoes, beets and Cole slaw. The dressing was delicious with a hint of sweetness. It was served with warm bread and a compound butter which had garlic, parsley and marjoram. We split the Bernaise Schnitzel. We each received a pork tenderloin slice which has been breaded and topped with Bernaise, a Potato Puff which is a mashed potato cake, sugar snap peas and a poached pear slices with cherries. The tenderloin is flavorful and fork tender. Everything was fabulous. For a split entrée priced at $ 22.00 it was perfect. It was also nice that they split the entrée for us in the kitchen. The wait staff was courteous and Efficient. We had a great time and had plenty of food. Great value! We will be back.

A have to place whenever I’m in the area. They know what they are doing. Having traveled in Germany and Austria, why bother? They are doing it better here than in Europe. Peppercorn wienerschnitzel=A++

The food was amazing and our server was stellar. However, as our small group of friends were having a great time and were laughing, the bartender shooshed us! How rude!

I’m giving this a two star review because of the atmosphere and view. The food… NO! I had the sauerbraten. Nice portion size but the meat was dry and overcooked and slice way too thin. I think it may have been a few days old and microwaved. The gravy. sweet sweet and NO taste of vinegar at all! It’s supposed to be sauer! I get the ginger snaps but way overboard. Potato side was very good but the cabbage, again way too sweet!!! Service was excellent! Nice place to come and have a drink and enjoy the view.

I am sorry folks… I just don’t get it. Had dinner at this restaurant last night and although I anticipated something great, this food did not come up to the standards of this… «I am German/Irish, grew up in a German, Irish, Irish, Italian, neighborhood, all my friends Moms and my mother, all, great scratch cooks along with alot of old babcia’s and nana’s…so I am quite familiar with good home cooked, hearty, true, old world recipes, and GERMAN cooking»…girl(whew). I, myself, a scratch cook using the most basic of processing on all foods(old school). I really LOVED the location, and the look, beautiful river view. Nice clean, nicely lighted(not too light, not too dark) and very comfortable dining room. And our server was absolutely stellar. The prices were more than fair and the portions, nice sized. And then there was the food. I am not going to rip each dish apart, I will only say, the only thing«authentic» or even close to «what it should be»…was the steak. Not bad, nothing great. Oh and their Bearnaise sauce was delish. However…to each their own. I only know that I won’t be returning(disappointing meal with a $ 120.00, 2 guest, ticket… nah). ONTOTHENEXT(lots of restaurants… lotsssss).

This great German rest. Is tucked away on melbourne beach ! It has awesome German food ! Visited it on my recent visit to coco beach and I am pleasantly surprised ! Great snitzel and goulash ! But the apple streusel was to die for ! Try this place, it will be one of your favorites !

I enjoyed my dinner. The food was very tasty. I felt the service was less than stellar. We did arrive at the peak of dinner. Our wait was 50 minutes for our entrée. Our waitress came by maybe five times during our visit. For the money, food quality and ease of access I would recommend Elwdiss over the Coconut Café.

We had the pleasure to try this out for the first time on May 30, 2015. We brought 12 people from Vero Beach. It was well worth the trek. The staff was exceptional, but the food was better than that. We all had different entrees and shared 4 different appetizers. Everything was prepared perfectly. The place was packed and there was a 25 – 40 minute wait by the time we left. We took our time and spent about 2:45 min for the entire experience. We will be back often. Every entrée our group had was phenomenal. The Apple Studel was a great desert and was the black forest cake. Try this for a great dining experience.

Reading some of the other reviews some wanted to say that this was«authentic german food.» I’m sorry but if this is the standard for German food the bar is set very low. We were a party of four and and each ordered a different dish. My choice was the Goulash with Spaetzle. Taste was OK, but the Spaetzle was unlike any I had seen after having lived in Germany for over 10 years. Sampled the red cabbage with another’s order and it tasted just like that that comes out of a jar purchased at the local Aldi. Service was reasonable but overall the food was overpriced for the quality and nothing that would entice me to return.

This is an authentic German experience. Almost all the options are focused around a lot of meat, and its very good. I’m not sure what the reviewer was saying about small portions. Even my husband was satisfied, and he eats a lot! It’s a beautiful view of the river, good service and a fun experience. I’d definitely recommend.

One of the best German restaurants on the East Coast! Pork shank is not to be missed! The view is amazing at sunset and the service outstanding! Wish they took reservations and were open 7 days a week!

My wife and I were in town with our three small children and we wanted to have a nice dinner. That is not very easy to do as restaurant options are limited and anything nice doesn’t normally seem welcoming to children. We took a chance on Café Coconut Cove and were not disappointed. The service was excellent and very friendly and the food was good too. I can’t say that I would recommend this restaurant for children, but they certainly did their best to accommodate us and we felt very welcome.

One of the best restaurants in the area, Café Coconut Cove serves excellent German food. On our most recent visit, I had the sausage plate so I could try one of each type of sausage. The bratwurst stood out as the best sausage on the plate — absolutely stellar. The frankfurter was excellent. The veal weisswurst however, disappointed me. I suppose it was boiled — just not my tastes. The sausage plate included German potato salad was a vinegary delight. The mustard and curry ketchup were very good, and came in separate containers so they could be used as the diner likes. Perhaps the best part of this dish was that it felt there were many different tastes on the plate. In the past, I’ve tried the peppercorn schnitzel, which was phenomenal. Service was excellent. I should note that this is a pricey dining option, relative to other places in the area.

Just ok Salad was good, setting lovely, but main courses not stellar by any means. Service was slow and it was not that busy. We will will not be returning,

Authentic German Food in a Picturesque Setting You would easily drive past this place, so make sure you have your GPS on! Once you find your way back there though it’s definitely worth the trek. Stunning views of the Indian River, especially at sunset. Menu was authentically German in its contents and the four of us in our group all had different meals — Rouladen Plate, Peppercorn Filet, Jaegerschnitzel, Fish Schnitzel — and everyone was very happy with their dishes. We also couldn’t resist dessert, of which the Black Forest was my favorite…

I love this place. I was just here on Thursday while I was down visiting my grandparents. This place has some of the best food I’ve had. The pineapple melt is very good, and so was the peppercorn schnitzel. You’d be hard pressed to not like whatever you order here. The view is great and the atmosphere is very authentic. Apparently in Germany it is not uncommon to have restaurants in homes like this one is — or so a member of my group who lived in Germany said. I’d highly recommend this place.

I came here with my mom on a Friday night. It was busy, but not that busy. The food his is really overpriced, but the sign at the front that says«We love snow birds» seems to imply this. Anyways, the appetizer we ordered was good, but very small for $ 7.50. We also waited nearly 45 minutes for our food, without any reasons why, until 5 minutes before the food arrived. We talked to the owner, who gave us free dessert coupons and appetizer coupons for our next visit. The aesthetics of the restaurant are nice, but unless bigger portions were offered for what you pay, this would not be my first choice.
