This food is more authentic in the use of spices and ingredients than any other Mexican restaurant in Brevard County. And if you tried the flan, then you know how flan is really supposed to be made!

I’m giving three stars because I’ve been here before and it was excellent food… in town on Friday at 6 o’clock and the place is closed up tighter than a vault thos does not look good. Over to El indio… Plan B

Came at 6:30 on a Sunday, their website said they’re open until 7 but the doors are locked… Guess we gotta go somewhere else!

I’ve ordered the fajitas twice and both times the steak were these tiny little pieces hardly edible. Very disappointing. The refried beans had little to no flavor to them. I would go into saying that the tortilla came from a package but that seems to be most places in this area so I will not pick on them for that. Plus my sides were barley enough to cover 3 tacos that I made. This mexican restaurant has been crossed off.

Very disappointed! Being from Socal, I had heard this food was some of the better Mexican food in Melbourne and I’ve tried it all. This was just bad food, the place was dark and dingy, the salsa was bland, we tried the chile relleno, the carnitas tacos and enchiladas, all were just ok nothing special and the beans tasted like they were going bad. The only good thing from our entire experience was the chips. they were good but the salsa was not good and we even asked for their signature hot sauce it was spicy but had no flavor… sadly another one bites the dust… so far La Preferida is our go to Mexican spot until there’s something worthy in Melbourne!

Simple hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. Nothing fancy, but they keep it clean and simple. They offer«authentic» tacos unlike Taco Bell. I always get the tacos de lengua(beef tongue) and tacos al pastor(seasoned pork) which are both exceptional. I like mine with just cilantro, diced onions, and that’s it. Their menu also offers the typical Tex Mex stuff that you find at Fiesta Azteca, but I promise you the food here is made with more love. Yes, they do sell Tequila. Only problem is that they only have one server, and the tiny place gets packed. They need more staff.

The food was awesome. I didn’t give 5 stars because the place was a little warm and there was a spanish soap opera on the tv behind my head. Some music would have been nice.

El Tequila speaks volumes about what people perceive to be Mexican food and what Mexican food actually is. Located inside of a small plaza, the restaurant looks much smaller than it seems from the outside. Inside, the décor were the«standard» decorations of a Mexican restaurant are: sombreros, scarves, etc. The bright mustard yellow wall paint gives the place a festive look, if you ignore the chipping paint and the tacky post-it notes connoting table numbers. In addition to that, Spanish shows were being blasted on multiple flat screen televisions, making it hard to hold a conversation. I had no problem at all getting seating quickly. However, we were not given nearly enough time to fully read the menu before being asked to order. The waitress gave us a small bowl of chips and salsa after taking our order, but never even returned to check on us until our food came. The Horchata I ordered was made very well, but the nut flavor overpowered the whole drink. The cheese enchilada from the kids menu is EXTREMELY small compared to the other items on the menu. The enchilada itself was okay, but the sauce on top of it — deliciousness! The standard rice and beans were also served with this, and whilst they weren’t bad, the apparent blandness became more and more noticeable throughout the meal. The other people I came with ordered the cactus burrito and the zucchini burrito, both of which(sampled) were better than the enchilada. The adult portions are much better sizes. The cactus burrito, I must say, is a very unique entrée about this restaurant. I haven’t found it anywhere else. While the cactus looks a lot like green pepper, the distinct taste lets you know that it is worth the money. The zucchini alone was cooked well, but inside, the other vegetables it combined with let me down. Overall, this place is pretty average with a unique dish. If you’re hungry, you’ve got the place to go for some good, cheap, «Mexican» food.

Best Mexican food so far in Melbourne. We have been here about 6 months from California and have been on a mission to find decent mexican food. Let’s face it, most mexican food in Florida is bad news. Fortunately a friend sent us here! This will be our go to flauta place from now on.

Yes! My husband are on a quest to find good Mexican food and this is pretty good. Coming from New Mexico, the food is a little different but still yummy. I would recommend this restaurant. I would like it better if it were a bit cleaner looking. The walls need to be cleaned and painted.

Good food. Great portions. Good prices. Only drawback was cash only despite signs showing accepted credit cards.

Growing up in southern Cal all I want is the same Mexican food I’m used to. Well this is it. Who’d a thought I could get such flavor so far from home. The pastor tacos are legit. The salsa for the chips I could almost drink. I’m truly blown away. I’ll be back every time I need my Mexican fix. It’s the beàest!

We had been here once before for lunch and enjoyed it. Our latest visit did not disappoint either, I had a #12 combination platter of a shredded beef burrito and soft taco. My date(wife) had the chicken fajitas. Everything was fresh and delicious! I can’t wait for our next visit.

Best Tex-Mex in Melbourne area for sure. $ 2 tacos are the real deal. I used to live in San Antonio, so I know my tacos.

This may be the only real Mexican food in Brevard. If you’ve never had anything but Tex-Mex, go to El Tequila and eat tacos the way God intended them to be. The only thing this place needs is a better location. The interior is bright and clean, but the strip mall storefront won’t pull in many drive-bys. If it has the success it deserves, though, someday it will move into a better spot with some outdoor seating.

Wow! Finally some better-than-decent Mexican food in Melbourne. Clean, very friendly, very complete menu. We had two kinds if tacos, carnitas and el pastor. Both were flavorful, moist and fulfilling– each taco came with enough meat for two along with two tortillas., margaritas were in special, 2 for $ 8. A great find, we’ll be back!
