The wife and I went in for a pre-dinner drink. It’s an upscale bar that provided us with excellent service. I would go there again. It may be beneath them, but the name, Foo Bar, presents itself with great shirt and hat possibilities.

The doorman/bouncer(Mike) enjoys insulting regular customers as well as sexually harassing women. Furthermore, upon bringing this to the attention of a manager, the claims were dismissed. The owner(Scott) was also contacted in regards to this incident but did not respond. Avoid at all costs.

This is my to go place in downtown Melbourne! Great service and ambiance. They have an outside area and an inside one which makes it very eclectic when I bring my friends. The music is spot on every single time I come(I’ve been coming here for the last 4 years).

unfortunately the unscrupulous business ethics of the current management outweigh anything positive this establishment can offer. pay those who provide your entertainment, as agreed. don’t stiff the music providers!

Poor service, aloof bartenders. Went on a Friday night before Halloween, killer band was playing, then I hear they didn’t even pay the band, won’t ever return to this overpriced place again.

Don’t be fooled by the comfy porch and cheap beer. Foo Bar isn’t in business for the customer service, and management does not honor its contracts with entertainment. For shame, Foo Bar.

I have been here a couple of times before, but never had the chance to hang around and sit down until last night. While the music is definitely edgy, and the seating is nice and relaxing, the bartenders, bouncer and managers are pieces of shit walking the Earth. These people turn on the lights 25 minutes before closing time, and the bouncer and the bartenders started pacing up-and-down the bar harassing people and bullying them to finish up their drinks. I understand the need to enforce the law, however not everyone in a bar at closing time deserves to be treated like sloppy drunk college kids. I went here with a friend, and we were both severely disappointed with the staffs behavior. Both of us were harassed and bullied to finish our beers multiple times. when my friend went into the restroom, a bartender pounded on the door and specifically instructed him to «not take a shit». I was literally pushed out of the bar at 1:50AM, despite the fact that I told them that I am waiting on my friend who was in the restroom. I just find this behavior absolutely appalling, and unacceptable. They have lost my business.

I’ve been to Foo Bar twice since moving to the Melbourne area in early March of 2015. I asked a number of locals their suggestions for a quality bar with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service, and Foo Bar was usually near the top of their list. After moving to town from an area with few if any watering holes of substance, I was excited to give this«completely awesome and chill place»(as the leasing agent at my apartment complex stated) a try. The bar itself has great ambiance. Upon walking into the bar from the sidewalk, one enters a patio area with a number of cushioned deck chairs surrounding communal outdoor tables. The indoor area is lavishly decorated with custom woodwork above the bar. Bordering the rear wall of the bar is a lounge area with comfortable couches and ottomans which blend perfectly with the color scheme. The bar serves no food. Smoking is permitted inside and out. As a non-smoker, I was worried due to the bars relatively low ceiling that lingering smoke would be an issue, however, the ventilation system in the bar worked very well as the smoke from other patrons was largely undetectable. A mix of 90s hits along with a few oldies sprinkled in played over the bar’s sound system, which was easily heard but not overbearingly loud. A flat screen television near the center of the bar could be seen clearly. Conversations between patrons could take place at normal tone of voice and drink orders could be heard without having to shout to the bartenders. This I felt was a very nice touch. Both of my visits to Foo Bar took place in the middle of the week during off peak hours. During my first visit, two bartenders, one male, one female were tending the bar, with a total of about eight to ten patrons, counting myself in attendance. I was noticed by the male bartender upon entering as we exchanged waves. Thinking he would come to my side of the bar to take my order, I sat patiently, but was surprised to see him continue his conversation with the patrons seated the other side of the bar for about three to four minutes, after which he proceeded to begin cleaning glasses, apparently forgetting I had walked in. The female bartender also noticed me when I entered the bar, but was deeply engrossed with a number of tickets at the cash register, reading the same checks repeatedly before scribbling figures on a notepad. After being ignored by the male bartender, I raised my hand to get the female bartender’s attention. This action seemed to annoy her, as she placed pen and pad down and stated to me, «Huh? Oh, did you need something?» After ordering a bottled beer from her, she returned to her pad, all the while not checking on me or the other patrons. After a ten or so minutes, my bottle sat empty. Meanwhile, the male bartender finished cleaning his glasses. He walked towards my side of the bar and stated, «Whoa dude! I forgot you were down here! Sorry man!,» as he saw my empty bottle. I politely declined his offer for another drink, paid my tab, and left. As one who gives establishments the benefit of the doubt, I ventured back to Foo Bar the following week thinking my first trip was simply a «bad night.» The female bartender was tending bar alone, again with about eight to ten total patrons present. She asked for my ID, which I provided to her. She glanced at my ID suspiciously, switching between two different pairs of reading glasses to read it. I found this odd, as my ID is regular state issue, and unfortunately I very much look my age. :). After giving it back to me, she stated, «Uh, yeah, um, we get a lot of under-agers in here, you know.» I ordered a Crown and Coke from her. The order seemed to fluster her. She triple poured my drink, and then was annoyed when I asked for a lime. The drink itself was awful. After attempting to choke down three sips, I slide it away. I observed during both of my visits a few of the same patrons. They have a strong local connection with the bar, as indicated by their casual conversations with the bartenders about everyday topics such as their children’s schools and local jobs. This was the appeal that the locals that I asked for bar suggestions were speaking of. For the locals who know the bartenders, this could indeed be seen as a «completely awesome and chill place,» but as newbie, the welcome was far less than warm. I understand the need to maintain the friendly hometown flavor and the importance of keeping the regulars happy, but the general of feeling of apathy from the staff towards me during both visits was ridiculous. Foo Bar has the potential to be a great bar. If the staff could work to create middle ground between hanging with their friends and running a business, this would be an ideal location for all. Until then however, I cannot recommend Foo Bar. That is unless you went to high school with the bartenders…

The place itself is very nice. Comfortable seats, indoors is nice, and the outside sitting area is great as well. The drinks taste good and they have a happy hour. The bad: I would never recommend ordering a mixed drink from this place. The prices aren’t listed anywhere and I’m pretty sure you just get gouged depending on if your a guy or a girl and the mood of the bartender.

Very clean, excellent ambiance and décor. The music is very good, the bands are excellent; and the whole thing is more of a lounge than a bar. Probably the best one on all that downtown strip. Cons are the drinks are overpriced, and it gets too crowded in there on the peak nights.

The drinks are a little pricey, but the atmosphere is pretty cool. I wish it were more ventilated; not wild about so much cigarette smoke since I don’t smoke. I found out this place is dog friendly — not just outside, but inside, too, including on the couches. That might get me to come back here again with my boys. I also really like the hospitality and courteousness of server Mauricio and bartenders Tabbitha and Scott. This place is also crazy busy on the weekends, so I try and come when it’s quieter, but still enough people to talk to on week days.

This is my favorite bar in Brevard. The space is hot. The cocktails are excellent. The music is fresh. The crowd looks great. What else can you want right? So come by, sit back, order a drink, and enjoy the vibe. If you see me, stop by and say hi, I wont bite.

I’m giving this place 1 star because I liked the company I went with. Cons: Music was too loud & just noise with few words: The couches and throw pillows were way too cozy – some of the patrons seriously needed a ROOM!: The waitress was too busy to get us an ice bucket for our overly-priced bottle of Champagne. As a matter of fact, she was too busy to even take a tip I was trying to give her.((Her loss)) Too dark, too smokey – just not something I usually go for when I go out. Thank goodness I didn’t have to go to the restroom based on the other reviews. I don’t plan to go back.

I’ve been in Melbourne for 3 months. This place has the friendliest patrons, allows smoking indoors, and plays soft-house music. A fully stocked bar, plenty of comfy seats, and decently priced drinks. This place has an older vibe 30s-40s. It is very lounge-y and isn’t overly loud. Bartenders are quick with drinks and they are strong. This is definitely my favorite place in all of downtown Melbourne. Foo-tastic!

It is pretty. Nicely appointed with comfortable bar stools. First trip we were the only couple in there and had nice service from a warm and appropriately chatty bartender. He suggested interesting rums when we asked about one he didn’t have. I also tasted a great Pinot Noir I still seek out at the store. Next trip I’m pretty sure we were bothering them when we asked(we had to ask) to order drinks. Same thing the third time. It is overpriced for the area and does think a lot of itself. We drink elsewhere now unless we notice the place is relatively empty and the bartender looks friendly.

The bar tender does not know what he’s doing. We ordered the 150yr Grand Mariner for the 3 of us, but the pour was about ¾ of an ounce! The pour didn’t even come close to the rim when I laid the snifter on it’s side. It should be 1. 5 to 2 oz, so we were given ½ shots at full price! The bartender made a big deal out of how big a shot it was. I borrowed his jigger and tested the pour using Pepsi. His top shelf margarita has sour mix. Mojitos with no limes?! He just muddles the mint with simple sugar and claims it’s the best way to make a mojito. He’s a bit too proud of himself. I was a bartender for 10 years in Miami and the Keys, so I know it’s easy to get an ego in this industry, but you’d better be good. It’s not ok to rip people off in a small town. Word gets out. I didn’t complain or ask for more, I just consider it an education on where not to go. The vibe of the place is cool; low light, fun and funky art. It feels like a indo-lounge spot, but the reggae music didn’t fit the theme. It’s ok to smoke inside. Some will like this. I don’t smoke but the smell was tolerable.

Stopped in last night. Great place! Nice atmosphere, open air setting and a fun bar staff. The only negative thing I can say relates to the bathrooms. First, there are only two and they are co-ed.(So guys, get in line behind the girls!) Second, there is a creepy sign in the bathrooms that say you are under surveillance to prevent vandalism.(So, essentially they are saying that a camera is watching you as you strip down to do your business.) Creepy. In short: Go here, have a great time: But hold it until you leave.

As far as Melbourne Florida goes, this place always is a good choice for meeting up with friends. It is a pub atmosphere with an upscale edge, including some interesting art on the walls, sofa’s to relax on and a fireplace. The bar staff is friendly and the locals fun. Have fun.
