FrogBones Family Shooting Center

Took the wife there last night figuring it would be a good date night and we were pleasantly surprised. As soon as I walked in I noticed how bright and well stocked the shop was. The shooting range was also bright and temperature was nice and cool. There is another «range» in the area that is dark, dingy and too hot which is why the wife does not like going there. The staff was also really friendly and helpful. I had a concern with some ammo We were running thru her .38 and one of the guys came out to test it out himself. For a rainy Saturday night it was a little busier than expected but given the family type atmosphere I should not have been surprised. We even ran into another family we knew.
After our time at the lanes we sat down for some food and the wait staff was super friendly and the food was actually really good. It’s not 5 star restaurant quality but for a good diner type comfort food it sure beats any of the national chains by far.
The American Police Hall of fame used to be my favorite indoor range but was quite far for us. Love this place and being so close, fair prices and family type setting I have a feeling we’re going to be doing a lot more target practice this year.

It’s ok. Nothing to write home about, but if you’re local, it’s the best you will find without driving 30+ miles. Compared to the now defunct Action gun & archery, its a vast improvement. The lanes are clean, the safety measures are top notch (i.e. it has a locking mechanism that will not unlock the second door to get into the range until the first one is completely shut. I have never seen that before). The staff are super friendly. Suffice to say it will meet your needs.
Just a few honorable mentions of other things that were done right.
— Ammo is reasonably priced. I am not local, but short of shopping online or going to Academy Sports, its second to none.
— It’s Air Conditioned
— The lanes have electric retrieval system with key pads. The only thing more advanced would be Nexus Lanes in Davie.
So what didn’t I like
— Parking is absolutely abysmal. For a brand new facility, they did a piss poor job. There are a handful of spaces in the front and a few in the back, but if you happen to come when its packed, forget about it. There is nowhere else to park that’s convenient. It’s adjacent to private property where you will get towed, so you may end up coming here and having to drive back later.
— They allow rapid fire. Not everyone can control rapid fire well enough to shoot in close proximity to others and if you are coming to practice shooting, it can be frustrating being around «Rambo»
— No steel case ammo. Not many places will allow steel case so this isn’t uncommon, but it sucks because I have a gun that takes 7.62 X 39 and it’s not worth it to spend money on brass when I can go to a different range.
— It takes entirely too long to process you in. Lines can be long. First time I came, I was told the wait time would be an hour.
— $ 399 for an annual membership is absolutely ridiculous. Even in S. Florida the prices are not that astronomical. I guess they figure they have you by the balls because they essentially have the monopoly for the Melbourne area.
All and all, the experience was positive and the staff appear friendly and knowledgeable.

Fantastic shooting range!
I took my girlfriend there to break in her new Glock 19 Gen 4. Spent well over an hour on the range.
I also taught my mother and her husband to shoot. It was my mother’s first time firing a gun but she said it was empowering.
Great range pricing as well.

Absolutely love this place! Great pro-​shop, friendly people who really know their stuff and are willing to help. The food at the Double Tapp is amazing! Just can’t go wrong if you’re looking to impress your guy with a casual night out.

Very clean range and showroom. Defintely like that it is air conditioned!
The prices on range use are decent but target prices are a little high. Bring your own ammo as with any range the ammo is expensive. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars as the guy working the check in counter was gruff and curt. He seemed to talk down to people who came wanting to shoot but did’t have experience. Also found it strange that they only took identification from one of us and didn’t even look at the other.

I went here for the first time the other day to take a concealed carry course through Florida Firearms.
The first thing I noticed was how clean and organized the store was and how friendly the staff was. Gun ranges and gun stores can be a little intimidating and I felt like I was walking into a Bass pro or Dick’s.
The course that I took through Florida firearms at this location was very good. The instructor was nice and very informative and encouraged questions.
I recommend and I will be returning.

This is a great gun store with an amazing indoor pistol and rifle range. They have a large selection of pistols, rifles, and ammunition. They also have all the accessories you could ever desire. Across the hall they have a very nice restaurant. The staff here are very friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. A great and very much needed addition to the community.
