Customer Service is not on the menu at Jack’s Catering, that’s for sure. My fiancé and I are looking for a wedding caterer and Barbecue is what we are looking for. Jack’s catering was my fiancé’s number 1 choice because of their great selection, especially the steak dinner. We were looking forward to having a tasting with them and I called four weeks ago to set one up. After telling me that they only do tastings on Tuesday, they then said they didn’t have anything available through October, but would get me back when they made the schedule the following Monday. The following WEDNESDAY, I called them back to see if they had made the schedule and they said they had an opening on November 10th at 7pm. It was the earliest they had, so I took it. We had other tastings with two other caterers and told them all we were waiting until our final tasting with Jack’s to make a decision. November 10th comes around and I get a call in the early afternoon saying the person in charge of the tastings was sick and had to go to the hospital. While I felt bad, I was a bit upset that she was the only one available to do a tasting we had scheduled weeks in advance. The man on the phone, though, assured me they would get back to me and get us in the next day or two. So, then two days later, I called THEM and spoke with the woman who had been in the hospital. I asked if they could reschedule us for a tasting. She told me their next appointment was in February. Seeing as our wedding is in May, that’s not feasible for us. I asked if she could squeeze us in earlier and she said(with a bit of an attitude) that their only other option was a 3pm appointment(My fiancé and I work until 5pm, like most normal adults) on JANUARY23rd!!! You’ve got to be kidding me. I asked if there was anything sooner and she promptly said no, that she has to go in for surgery.(So apparently they won’t be doing any tastings, therefore not getting any other business while she is in surgery.) I said, «Well, I’ll have to talk with my fiancé. We may have to go with someone else because that may not be feasible for us.» To which she replied, «Ok, bye.» And HUNGUPONME! I have never been treated so terribly in my life! I have worked in customer service for 10 years and that is not the way to treat someone who is your potential client. I feel bad that she is sick and needs surgery, but there was a much better way to handle the situation. I wish them luck with their future clients… they are going to need it(Especially based on the other two hidden negative reviews I see on here).

We’ve used Jack’s Catering for large events twice now and both times have been excellent experiences! Our first event went off without a hitch. They showed up on time, got the pig roasting, and everything was served by their friendly and professional staff on schedule. Our clients, to a person, loved the food. Our second event would have been a giant mess, but Jack’s saved the day! The person placing our order accidentally requested food for the wrong day. We called them up on 4 hours notice, admitted our mistake, and in under 2 hours they had a truck there grilling up pork and chicken with all of the sides. None of our clients had any idea how close the event came to being a disaster. Even on short notice, and with errors made that were not Jack’s fault at all, we had 100% satisfaction from everyone who ate. Excellent price point? Check Top-notch staff? Check Good food?
