Nails In the City Bar

Lovely ladies in a clean super comfortable atmosphere. A nice glass of wine while getting my nails done was super relaxing too!

Maria is fantastic. Got a mani/​pedi and I really hate the thought of having to sit forever but she is so fast and efficient and does a WONDERFUL job. Polish is beautiful and was there less than 90 minutes (including drying time) for both yet still got massages, warm towel treatment and everything. Will make sure I go more regularly!

This nail salon could earn 5 stars, but falls short. I was greeted warmly and offered a beverage, which I gratefully accepted. Despite having an appointment, I had to wait for 30 minutes after my appt time before being shown to a pedicure station. There are 3 TVs that are turned including sound. This does NOT create a relaxing spa-​type atmosphere. Additionally, my tech spent her time watching tv while attending to my feet. This not only made the total duration longer, but made me feel like I was not a priority. Finally, there were 3 children (clearly children of one of the employees or manager) who were running about and noisily playing in the salon the entire time.
While there was a good selection of colors and my tech did a nice job with my polish and design, the 2 hours I spent in the salon to achieve that result was both too long and not relaxing.
Summary: a good pedicure but not a place where I will rush to return.

PERFECTION!!! Celeste you are amazing! I called in the morning to see if they could squeeze in a shellac mani and pedi for myself as well as a manicure for a friend and a pedicure for another friend and they were able to. When I walked in, I was greeted and took a look at possible colors for my nails/​pedi, I was so indecisive! My friends who was getting a pedicure had already arrived and gotten started, I was able to sit next to her and we got to enjoy our pedicures together. We were offered beverages and cookies (i seriously wanted a cookie but I’m allergic to wheat– sad face). During our pedicures my other friend arrived for her manicure and we were able to sit together for those as well. The friend who came for a pedicure only, ended up going for a shellac manicure as well, she even got sparkles and loved it! I ended up with a to-​die-​for polish combination and Celeste surprised me with a rockin glitter ombré on my accent nail! My nails are perfection!
We found this place via Unilocal.I’m sad to see a bad rating, I don’t know how someone could have a bad experience! We thoroughly enjoyed our time and were in and out within a couple hours! I have made an appointment both times I have visited, I would recommend making an appointment and not just walking in…
Went in today, was wanting a full set (no real reason just that it last longer than a regular manicure). Well my nails are pretty healthy and at a decent length so she said she would feel bad cutting and drilling on my nails because of how good of shape they are in. She offered a shellac mani instead (although she said she will do a full set if I wanted), I went with the shellac and appreciated her honesty! I really didn’t want a full set for the reason that in the past a regular manicure chips with in 0.25 seconds of my walking out of the building. They turned out beautiful, I’ll see how long they last considering I’m not the most gentle on my hands and I’m going out of town!
I got a classic pedi, it was nice, didn’t feel like it was really «over the top”– They do offer more «upgraded» pedicures with wax, hot rocks, towels etc. I just had the basic scrub, lotions, massage. My color looks great, she really took her time and «cleaned up» around my toenails where there was polish left after she had painted (I have very small nails usually a ton is left on my actual toe).
There are TVs around with the morning talk shows on, which doesn’t bother me, but some people my not think this or feel this detracts from the «relaxation» experience. There are also times where you are right next to someone else at the «nail bar», its not individual stations which again doesn’t bother me, but others may find this as a turn off.
All in all I’ll definitely go back, its not the «cheapest» place but they really take their time and I like that and willing to spend a little extra for the time and quality (at least the quality I see today).

What a great experience! I was on my to Melbourne to visit my parents and realized I needed to get a mani and pedi. My amazing mother called and made me an appointment (last minute). I misunderstood the time, I thought my appt was for 10:30, but it was for 10. I received a phone call at 10:15 from the salon to remind me. Feeling awful, I asked if it was ok if I was late. The lady (I am assuming the owner or manager) was very cordial and understanding, asked me to come in anyway.
I had a hard time finding it, but once I did, I was happy. The nail tech (Mary) was ready for me and quickly began working on my hands. She did an amazing job and was very meticulous on every finger. Next up was the my pedi… same TLC was given to my toes. She is very talented.
The neat thing was… there were 3 TV’s to watch all of the morning gossip shows (which is always a plus for me). The place is very CLEAN, too! You can tell the owner takes pride in her business.
When I visit my parents again, I will be testing myself to another mani/​pedi at Nails in the City!
PS I live in a place where a basic mani/​pedi costs $ 55!!! This place was a bargain and it was the best one I have ever had :)

First time here — I knew it was not the cheapest for a mani /​pedi –but it was definitely worth the slightly higher cost for a much better experience — atmosphere, people, amenities — and a glass of wine if you are in the mood. Thank you for taking the experience up a notch!

Walked in and no one said hello to us. About 2 minutes after waiting silent, a woman (who was getting her nails done at the time!!!) walks over and welcomes us. We ask to be seen. She says that they have no spots available for walk-​ins at the moment and can get us in tomorrow. ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! You let your own staff get their nails done, and not paying customers? Wow. We walked out and went to another salon that saw us right away. I’ll never go back there.

Beautiful atmosphere, bright and airy feel mixed with hospitality and quality service. My nail tech was meticulous (in the best way) and the french shellac manicure I received lasted over three weeks. (Three weeks!) Completely recommend this place.
