On our way to ocean city, we stopped by them for a snack. They have a lot of stuffs on their menu. I never taste a corn puff so I ordered it. If you like a cream corn, you will like the corn puff. I will order it again if you have a chance to go there.

Stopped here for a quick snack on the way to Ocean City. All the prices are very reasonable and it was hard to choose just one thing. I got the fish sandwich, which was made to order and good the only complaint is that I thought it was going to be an actual piece of fish instead of a square probably frozen piece. It reminded me of what I had for school lunch as a kid. But overall good

If you like clean or healthy, this place is not for you! Food was good but feeling my arteries clog as I’m leaving. Also, bathrooms are an outhouse with no paper towels and the hand blower is broken.

The much ballyhooed fried chicken is hot. And greasy. Really greasy. If you like your chicken hot and overtly greasy, this is your place. Speaking of chicken grease, I went to wash the grease off of my hands in the men’s room, quaintly located outside in its very own out building. No soap. No paper towels. A busted hand dryer. Now my hands were wet and greasy. I didn’t think much of this place.

We got the name of this restaurant from Off the Beaten Track. It is at least as good as they said it would be. Atmosphere? Not so much, but the chicken may be the best I have ever eaten. Since we didn’t go there for atmosphere, we were not disappointed. We were driving to Chincoteague and made a special effort to stop on the way back. Definitely worth it!!!

I remember when the chicken here used to be a bit bigger in size. I guess the chickens have gotten smaller in size over the years. Either way, this chicken is bangin’! Get yourself some french fries, too. Bring back the original T&J buckets!

If I had to rate just there chicken I would give them 5 stars!!! They have amazing food!!! Now for the service and atmosphere I give 2 stars. The restaurant is very old fashioned and needs renovations, and the people are not very hospitable.

Very good fried chicken. The atmosphere is uninspired and feels like a 50 year old Dairy Queen converted into a BBQ/Chicken shack. The restrooms are not in the main building, but in a secondary location at the southern corner of the parking lot. A decent stop on the way north or south on Route 13 if you want something local and enjoy listening to people from the area talking their colorful patois. It’s a long road from Philly to Newport News — all flat and rural. Certainly worth exploring if you like Americana in a quiet part of our nation. Tammy & Johnny’s is not Frankie & Johnny’s, but if you are in the right frame of mind, it might be similarly romantic.

Great Chicken, poor service… They all seem to be working in slo-mo, never smile and honestly have no customer service.

Well let me just flat out say this had to be the worst place I’ve ate at in a long time. I’m incredibly easy to please, and try to turn the negatives into a positive. So let’s break it down as to why, if possible, I would have given it a zero. From the get go, it was a bad experience. Walked in to a terrible atmosphere. It smelled stale and was unkempt. I semi felt like if I were to accidentally cut myself on something I’d need to get checked out. There was a pretty good sized line and one plus plus sized chick waiting on people. After about a 10 minute wait a fairly attractive server comes up to take orders. Well unfortunately, that’s about where it ended. She was as dry as the sahara. Anyways, not having ever been there and not a menu to be found we ask the bundle of sunshine what the«Tammy» and«Johnny» were. She replies with burgers. Nothing more. Me and my fiancé look at each other and she was like ok, well what are the differences. She says cheese. Awesome! Great! Completely clarified everything we needed to know because cheeseburger and hamburger weren’t already on the billboard and obviously wasn’t anything special enough about the two to be differentiated from. Well, that’s strike two. She then tells us about the sides which was barely understandable through the mumbling. Our order is finished and we wait to receive our food, and while waiting we see how she interacts with other people to make sure I’m not the jerk and everyone received the same treatment. At least she’s a consistent hater. We get our food and think about sitting down and the tables are dirty, and find one that isn’t, sit down and it’s sticky. Move to a dirty table, sticky too. We decide to eat in our car. I got chicken, my fiancé got a BBQ sandwich. Now once again, I might be a snob for fried food, but this was hands down the worst chicken I’ve ever had. Zero flavor and it tasted like they had fried cardboard. My fiances sandwich was mediocre, but nothing to write home about. Even if home was right across the street. Overall, very bad experience from start to finish. I wouldn’t recommend Satan to go here, because in the off chance I end up there I feel like I’d have a special level reserved for me.

Not quite sure why this place has four star reviews. I was hoping for much better. The service staff seem pretty miserable, no smiles, no laughs… This would have been a minor bump in the road if the food was decent. Unfortunately, it was not. I had the 3 chicken finger combo(for $ 7 I hoped it would have included some legit chicken fingers), which was made up of 3 chicken fingers that were obviously store bought and frozen(not the good store bought kind either). My wife had the fried chicken, which she said was OK, but nothing to write home about. Their sides were the only good part of the meal. The fries and biscuit were good, and the hush puppies were very good. This was one of those meals that you eat and immediately regret. My wife and I felt so gross that we had to stop at Royal Farms to get something to settle our stomachs. Also, the restaurant and especially the outhouse(i.e. the detached bathrooms) really needed to have a deep cleaning. We won’t be going back.

You want good fried food? This is the place. The fried chicken was awesome, and the biscuits were top notch. But my god, the ambiance is atrocious. Glade air fresheners are scattered throughout the dining room, which says something. And the centerpiece decorations are clowns. Really creepy ones — clown dolls and a big framed clown montage poster. The counter help was downright surly. And the bathrooms? Ewwww — grody to the max. And no soap or paper towels. So, four stars for the food, less two stars for a completely lousy eating experience.

Of course the tea is SWEET! Chicken is southern fried. Burgers are traditional Americana, enjoy the hospitality and get some grub your doctor won’t approve of.

It took me a long time to stop at Tammy & Johnny’s, but once I did it’s hard to pass this place without stopping. I have the same thing over and over — chicken thighs with mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuit and cole slaw. I burn my fingers cause I eat the chicken as soon as I get it while it’s still HOT. It takes a bit of time to get your order, but it’s well worth it.

Wish I could give this place negative stars! Surly cashiers, dirty restrooms, and very average food. Nothing special about the fried chicken and sad hamburger. Ugh!

Fried Chicken with a side order of fries is hard to beat! I like knowing my money is going to support a small, family-owned business too.

The fried chicken is absolutely legit. The crust is on the skin is light, crispy, and not overly seasoned. I was skeptical the first time around but after a couple of visits, I can say that this is a legit fried chicken spot. I’ve also tried a Cheeseburger Combo and BBQ ribs. Both were just ok. I’ve honestly had better in California. I know that’s a weird answer when it comes to ribs, but it’s actually a growing movement in SoCal, especially in San Diego. There are some good BBQ options all over San Diego. California may not have invented the burger, but I’m not going to far out on a limb in stating that they perfected it. Think of all the chains that were spawned in California. Inn-N-Out, McDonald’s, Carl’s Jr/Hardee’s, Jack In The Box, Smashburger just to name a few. But Tammy & Johnny’s definitely serves up some quality fried chicken. That’s fasho…

This is a sleeper spot on the Eastern Shore and a usual pit stop if I am traveling North or South. They have very good local food and are a good Hamburger and BBQ joint, but the thing that sets them into the upper atmosphere is the Chicken. It is amazing. Its one of those places where you stop and get a bucket to take with you so you have some insane snack food when the gang wants a midnight snack. «The Good» — As mentioned above, the chicken. Its delicious plain and simple. get some, enjoy the chicken and experiment with other items on the menu. — I have also had a Pulled Pork Sandwich on a previous visit and it was very good. — The Biscuit… Its homemade and I enjoyed it. however, I have heard people say they think it is too dry and I have seen people order a dozen of them to take home for dinner. When you eat the chicken and the biscuit and a Dr. Pepper together each one tastes better and it turns out to be a good day. «The Meh» — The first few times visiting here I had no clue where to stand but with the help of a nice little old lady that ushered me into line in front of her I had the pattern down. — Its one of those things that are unique to different places and its kinda in between Good and Meh(but charming) the one picture shows the restrooms… they are outside in a separate building. I think its cool but you get the occasional upper crusty that will complain… whatever, if you want to use the restroom find a rest stop, the funny part is there really are not any on the entire run of the Eastern Shore so you are SOL. So support the establishment you stop at and realize that simple is how we all started out. «The Bad» — Nothing to comment on, smile when you order and the ladies will take care of you.

You must stop here! Do not drive past this place or you will miss the best fried chicken of your life. And I mean the traditional fried chicken. Not fancy or new finagled, but just crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside chicken goodness. The price is good, the sides are fine, the dining room is clean and no frills and you order at the counter and wait for your number to be called. When they call, you grab your bird and get to the nearest table to devour it probably while it is too hot, but you just can’t wait for it to cool off! You can’t miss the neon sign. Get going Unilocalers!!!
