A great place — extremely caring team that goes out of their way to help their patients.

My eye exam was great, Dr. Anstadt did an awesome job and I don’t have any complaints. However, the billing department completely messed up my insurance. I was billed under my health insurance and not my vision insurance that I pay extra for. I was charged a copay of $ 75, which I should have contested right then and there. But since it was my first exam on the new vision insurance, I waited to get home first before checking on what the copay should have been, which was only $ 10. I called the office right away to let them know the error, they said they would notify billing. After a couple weeks without hearing anything, I called and left a voicemail for the biller. The biller eventually returned my call a few days later and informed me there was no refund to be made. I later discovered they had actually billed both my health AND my vision insurance. At the end of the day, the vision insurance portion was cancelled by the eye center, and my health insurance portion stuck(likely because this netted the eye center a higher payment). Be very careful with the biller at this location and how your insurance is handled, and don’t overpay your copay, they will not cooperate or be reasonable about it. They’ll just keep the extra cash.

I went on a Tuesday for an eyecheck up with dilation. I was there for at least and hour and a half. I felt like I was in a sci-fi movie that was trying to move old people to another planet or something. They kept squirting something in my eye which burned and eventually my eye was in pain. My eyes still do not feel right and it has been several days since I went to the appointment. I have never had such a big deal done over an eye exam in my life. I’m having second thoughts about keeping the follow-up appointment they gave me. I feel like they are taking advantage of medicare. He said my eyes were healthy so why the follow-up? He said to check the pressure again since I have narrow angle eyes and dilation can cause glaucoma. Then he said there was a surgery to correct narrow angle eyes. I have never had a doctor tell me such a thing. I don’t like to bad mouth the doc, but I was not pleased with the appointment.
