Worst barber shop in the area. None of the barbers want to take care of kids. They preffer to sit around and do nothing. Barbers say they have someone coming in and I waited around for like 30 mins and they where still just sitting around.

Have been here about 3 times and every time it’s about an hour to two hour wait with no type of line or ordering, sometimes random people going in front of me, finally when I’m getting my haircut it seems like they forget they own a business and always stop to talk on the phone, text, or just simply leave me in the chair for a couple minutes. After the guy finished cutting my hair he put some gel in my hair without even asking. Worst barbershop service ever. Two star for the haircut or else it would of been one.

This place has survived and flourished for good reason. The parking there sucks because you are right next to 3 busy restaurants but the service and environment is what makes it the best(in my opinion) in the area. I have been coming to this shop for about 5+ years now and I have yet to find anything wrong with the service. There are many regulars that attend and of course they will usually call ahead to make an appointment. This is not uncommon and walk-ins typically have to wait between 5 – 20 minutes before being called on depending on the day they come in and volume of customers. There are plenty of barbers on staff at any given time and the owner of the shop is almost always there to ensure good customer service and regular greetings to walk ins and new customers. I usually get a low razor fade and have had my hair cut there by half the staff. They have all done a great job. My main barber is Ace(aka Ace Boogy, aka Ace the Barber, Aka the best in the mid-west) and as expected from any of the barbers, he’s professional, respectful, and maintains excellent attention to detail. My recommendations for new customers are to walk in, loosen up and enjoy the atmosphere and conversation. You can also get movies and music from«D’s mobile entertainment» on certain days of the week. What more can you ask for?

Just moved to the area and I needed a haircut so I checked this place out. That was a mistake… When I walked in I felt like nobody wanted cut hair lol, at a barbershop? There some people waiting in front of me and I noticed there was no particular order. At one point there were like three«barbers» just standing around while there were people waiting. Finally one of them told me I was next, but I told him there was a guy in front of me who had been waiting. Probably another mistake… Finally I get called up and I tell the guy I want a blowout, and he kinda looked confused. He went and talked to another barber about it, that was the first red flag. Then I showed him a picture of how I wanted my hair, you know like barbers are suppose to do. He took about an hour to cut my hair, he paused and talked, watched YouTube videos and TV, and sometimes would come back to check on me lol. It was the worst haircut ever. When I finally saw my hair it looked like I was in the army? I mean nothing like a blowout. I wasn’t surprised. I paid the dude and left. Definitely the worst business I’ve ever been to, not just barbershop. Avoid.

I was going out for a friends birthday and couldn’t find anywhere to get my hair cut so late, figured I’d try Google and see what came up. That when I found Hall of Fades, I’ll admit I was a bit hesitant but I had no choice so I I figured what the hell if it comes out bad I’ll Just shave it off. But I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised with the outcome, I waited a decent amount of time but being a walk-in on a Saturday night it’s to be expected. Probably the best hair cut I have ever had in my life, never have I been given so many compliments on my haircut. Definitely getting my hair cut at Hall of Fades from now on! Plus the price was excellent!

I use to be a customer of Vito’s on North Ave. but Sammy has moved on and no longer cuts hair. So I tried finding another barber who does fades really well and stumbled across this place. I figured since it’s called the«hall of fades» how can I go wrong? I asked for a «high and tight» fade but it didn’t turn out so well. I even showed him a picture of my hair should look afterwards but I think he got a little confused because he cut my hair unevenly. I looked like Mr. T with an asian fro! The barber that cut my hair had a very raw style, held my head to the side until it was pressing against my shoulder and I was thinking«what is this? The WWE?» All in all though, I still gave him a decent tip for trying. I have a rule to always try a place twice before I pass judgment so right now my rating is «I’ve experienced better». One more thing, I had my wife fix my hair with the«high fade» when I got home.

I recently moved to the west suburbs and was looking for a barbershop that did the type of haircuts. I also needed this barbershop opened late since I typically get out late according to barbershop standards. Well this place has it! They are typically opened to at least 7pm and upwards to 8pm wed-thur. Instead of having one barber with a line of 4 people they were fully staffed until closing time. Terrific! They charge $ 12 for a cut and do an excellent job. Plus they’re right next to a Little Cesar’s so that takes care of dinner!

It figures that soon as I move away from the area, I then discover a barbershop that specializes in my choice haircut. Luckily, I still work in Melrose Park, so when I’m hurting for a fade, this place is a very short distance from the workplace. Lets see… how can I sum this place up as quickly as possible. Okay. You know the movie Barbershop 1&2(Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson)? Imagine the younger Latino version of that. Yes, the demographic of employees and customers here is young Hispanics, in search of their fade, blowouts, and faux-hawks. Kinda nice to have a place like this in the burbs. It’s kinda odd they lack a cash register. But the prices are pretty reasonable. So with Fade-Inn being too out of the way, Ithis might be my new barbershop of choice. It’s unfortunate I didn’t know about it sooner before I might become too old for this place!
