On a long road trip we’ve stopped at multiple buffets and this one takes(and makes) the cake. Home cooked food and friendly staff in a clean and comfortable restaurant, there’s really nothing else to ask for. Don’t forget to hit the salad bar first, or else you might miss out on some treasure. Overall tastiest buffet since Florida. Happy travels, y’all!

This is a secret gem on the I-94 freeway. For years we have struggled with a spot to stop and never knew if this restaurant. The menu is the usual fare, but the buffet is what sets this place apart. Kale salad-yummm Feta Cheese and romaine with a custom yogurt dressing-delish Salad fixings galore. Meat, mashed potatoes, gravy, taco bar, soups, homemade desserts, pOpOvers! You have to stop in Melrose hungry. Easy on & off the freeway too. Clean, well laid out, lots of variety of food offerings, family style items, nice building and parking, friendly wait staff.

If you’re a fan of buffets, you should try Cornerstone. It’s a step above some of the commercial buffets. They have different themed-nights, and lots of specials for children and senior citizens. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The servers were very friendly and helpful, always asking if you needed anything and refilling your glasses. The manager stopped by our table to ask how things were. I hit the Cornerstone with a friend on a Wednesday(family/Italian night). The salad bar is phenomenal. Not only does it offer up a variety, but also some unique items. The greek salad and special dressing was awesome. I liked that there were garbanzo beans on the salad bar. As for the hot meals, the popovers were excellent. Since it was Wednesday, there was an assortment of wings and pizzas(both were pretty tasty), alfredo, chicken, mashed potatoes, polish sausage, and more. I was impressed. The food didn’t have the tasteless quality that many buffets have. It was genuinely good, and for $ 8.99 you really couldn’t go wrong. For dessert, there was a selection of bars, pies, soft-serve ice cream and toppings. Overall, I was impressed by the quality, the service, and the décor. There were a lot of seniors and families with children. If you’re taking a trip along the I-94 corridor and looking for a buffet that’s a cut above the rest, check it out.

Horrid buffet geared toward the geriatric on a field trip from the old folks home. The chicken was so dry that it was actually gritty. The rest of the food seemed to be pre-chewed for easy digestion The green in the actual salad was very nice. That gets a star. Never again

Passing through from MT to NY, looking for something comforting. This a great place to find it. Everything wasn’t perfect with the meal but it was still tasty. Staff and owner are clearly in the business of making you feel at home. I would return without hesitation.

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, very clean and organized. Food was fabulous, the salad bar is not to be missed. I loved the Orange Kale salad the most, but all of the salads where so very very good! Didn’t get to try a popover, wish I had, but was too full to try anything more. The Savory Chicken was perfect! We came in right as they were setting up for lunch, our wonderful server«Amy», was so accommodating and attentive, she checked to see if the buffet would be ready for us if we started with the salad bar first, which was half way set up. Once she knew that we would like to have the buffet, she was«On It». The salad bar was set up in no time! She was pleasant, helpful and could hustle big-time. Then the manager«Jeremy» came over to greet us. «Hi, how are you folks, where have you been, where are you going?» He let us know when the rest of the buffet was ready and would ask how we liked the food several times. Who does that any more? It has been a long time since we have been treated this well and had excellent food to boot. I know where I am stopping, next time we are on I-94. There is a full menu to try as well, Stuffed Pork Chops, Chicken Kiev, just to name 2. When you are done dining and need to fuel up before you hit the road, stop at the Clark station. It’s full service! They pump the gas for you and wash your windshield. Who does that any more? Very friendly, happy service station people too! Melrose sure made an impression on us. It feels good to be treated«Special»

Been wanting to stop here for a few years and finally did! Friday nights they have their surf and turf buffet with the option of all you can eat crab legs. The buffet included four different salad options with fresh fruits and veggies and cold pastas. The dinner included soups, popover, shrimp Alfredo, stir frys, salmon, tilapia, cod, shrimp, other fried fish, sirloin steak, mushrooms and onions, etc. The desert included cakes, puddings, crisps, bars and of course ice cream. The food was very good and the service was pleasant. This place is a must stop if you are in the area. I gave a five star because of the selection and price! We will be back!

Holy smokes! This place is fighting way above its weight class. Got there just before the switch between breakfast and lunch and got to be doubly impressed. Even the coffee is good. Love the sign telling the locals what the salad is.

Tasty, hot homemeade style food that satisfies your urge for the stuff Mom made and in a buffet to boot. Fast, friendly staff, clean beyond belief… which is very appealing to the eyes … and after to the manager about how they get great buffet food he let me know they buy lots of their ingredients such as potatoes locally fresh. Much, much much better than the corporate franchise buffets and nice folks working there too.

Amazing buffet! There are few places I Unilocal about, but this place is deserving of great reviews! Service is excellent and the food is the freshest comfort food you could ask for. It feels like going home to a thanksgiving dinner.

Excellent brunch buffet, with popovers! Their popovers were really good, as was the beef stroganoff. Wide sampling of food and their buffets change every day. Definitely worth checking out.
