I really wish I could give Alteration Junction a better review — they’re a local shop and all the ladies there are really nice. I just have not been happy with their alterations and have taken my business elsewhere. I wear dress or casual dress clothes for work and am often in between off-the-rack sizes in pants and jackets, so I have need of alterations. I decided to give AJ a shot, as it is between work and home and is a smaller local business, which I always try to support. The first alteration I had done here was a suit — slacks and a jacket. I was quoted roughly 3 weeks. They said it was longer than normal because they had heavy volume at the time. They met that timeline and got my clothes back to me. The slacks were perfect, but the jacket had some strange creases in it near the alteration that I never was able to get out. I brought 3 more pairs of pants to them, and each time I had an issue. Once was that there were ripples sewn in. Once was that one leg was left unhemmed. Once was that they were hemmed too short. Each time it was a week or more for completion. If they give you a date they will be ready, the garment is ready at 4:00 that day and they close around 5:30, so you basically have an hour and a half window to pick your items up. They also only accept cash. I finally decided to take my alterations to my dry cleaner, and it turns out they’re cheaper, more convenient, I’ve been better pleased with the work, and it’s done in 1 – 2 days instead of 1 – 3 weeks. Even as nice as the ladies are here, I can’t imagine I’ll ever go back.
