Picked up a 12 inch pizza to go. More than enough for 2 people! It’s huge. Had a nice thin crust with like 3 inches of toppings on it lol. Basically a heavy layer of sausage with a ton of cheese. Not much sauce, and the meat slid right off the crust without an anchor to the crust. Not bad, but will definitely try some other memphis pizza places before returning.

First time trying Broadway Pizza for the first time and I must say I loved it! I really had a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat and do I’m driving and I see Broadway pizza. Who doesn’t love pizza? Lol. My first time experience was great, I went Sunday 9÷20÷15 and it was around 8pm and it was running pretty slow. They staff had great attitudes but the only thing is that my food wasn’t ready when the time was told to me. But no biggie, I didn’t do a call in order or anything so I’m not to mad over that. I got sausage and pepperoni 9″ and it was delicious!

So I wanted to try Broadway Pizza for a while but I had never made my way to either location. My mom had tried the original location while visiting Memphis a decade ago(prior to me moving here) so I decided that it would be a nice taste from the past and a great 1st field trip for me after being locked in the house for a week recovering from surgery. The location: small, clean, and not fancy The service: okay; We went early lunch so it wasn’t very busy YET. The servers were eating their lunch but made a point to check on the few customers. The food: We got the Broadway special. I felt like we should try the speciality on my first time out. The toppings –OMG! Not skimpy at all. There are an overload of toppings-at least 3 types of sausage. The crust – a fellow Unilocaler mentioned that he felt the crust was pre-made and/or pre-bought; I must agree. It didn’t taste fresh but it wasn’t bad. Also it was sturdy enough to hold ALL the toppings and sauce. The verdict: It was good and I’d go again if I were in the neighborhood.

We order a garden pizza and it was great. My group order garlic knots which seems to be pretty good. This service was done with a smile. Some of my group also had the chicken salad which they said was good.

This is not a bakery but I come here for the cakes. They usually have an assortment of cakes in a display case. Every so often, their in house baker will make some unique flavored cakes and I am always attempting to try them. My favorite is a banana/peanut butter cake. It was so good that I ordered it for my birthday and many people couldn’t believe that it was baked at Broadway. Of course their pizza is like non other but I am a dessert snob and I love their cakes.

Broadway has some awesome pizza! I ordered a large meat lover’s and chickatarian and they were both delicious. I enjoyed my visit on July 22, 2015 at the Mendenhall location. The service was exceptional, thanks to our server Christine. I will definitely go back especially for some Chickatarian! !

Seat wherever. We got the garlic knots– little too heavy — with a side of liquid butter! Ordered a 12inch sausage combination pizza… A little too much for one person. It was ok– wasn’t too exciting or different.

Not the place to be when it’s crowded. Just come back another time. It’s definitely not the best pizza in Memphis but it’s good enough.

If you want to feel horrible afterwards and eat overpriced, greasy pizza, this is your place. Aldo’s, Hog and Hominy and Memphis Pizza Café are miles better

I didn’t know this was THE Broadway Pizza… you know, like the one on Broad Ave? I’m an idiot. I was under the impression this was NYC pizza… you know, like Broadway in NYC? But I digress. After a hardcore pilates class at the MJCC, my girlfriend and I sat a stoplight staring at this Broadway Pizza. She commented she hadn’t been yet, and so we make the quick executive decision to pull in for dinner… ya know, to completely offset the hour long workout we just did. As soon as I looked down at the menu, I was like oh wait… I’ve been here… oh, it’s THAT pizza place? Jenni was drooling over the cakes at this point and I was starving, so we decided to stay and sit at the bar… yeah, and they serve alcohol. Win. That is until I got my bill and saw my C-, small pour Pinot Noir was $ 7. You’ve got to be kidding me. It should be $ 3…complete rip off. And I know this location is newer than the one on Broad… but for some reason it just seems dirtier… and the lights are really bright. The pizza was OK, the bartender was nice. But overall? Meh. Don’t think I’ll be coming back. The cakes really did look good though.

OHHOW I HAVEMISSEDTHISPLACESOMUCH!!! I remember as a kid, my mom would order pizzas from the Broad Avenue location. This was my first visit in several years, so honestly I had totally forgot the different varieties of entrees on their menu. I was in town visiting family and friends for the week. This also happened to be the same week of the MayPac fight, so some friends and I decided to order some pizzas. We opted for a large Meat Lovers Pizza and one large Supreme Pizza. Also, being the foodie that I am, I also decided to order a slice of their Butter Pecan cake. I cannot begin to tell you how good this pizza is!!! I live in Dallas now and I cannot find anyone who even makes a pizza anywhere close to Broadway’s style!!! I’m one of those individuals that if I have to eat my pizza with a fork because there is so much meat and cheese, then that’s a damn good pizza!!! Oh how I wish that they could ship out online orders!!! The next time that I will be in my hometown of Memphis(which will be very soon), you will definitely see my face again in your establishment!!!

This was a horrible experience, our waitress brought tea in very dirty glasses then dissappeared for 25 minutes. We ordered fried mushrooms and 9″ sausage pizza, the mushrooms were cold and tasted like something from the dollar store, the pizza had plenty of toppings but the crust was so hard you needed a jackhammer, i had to get up and ask for more tea twice and got it ten minutes later. I will stick with Garibaldi’s, memphis pizza café and even pizza hut where the service is superior and restaurants cleaner

I heard they had a good burger. Turned out there was no seasoning on the burger, just meat. The condiments and bread were normal. Huey’s does a better job in my opinion. The fries were not fresh-cut; they were Krinkle Fries, frozen from a bad or a cardboard box. This place was nothing special.

Honestly. Don’t waste your time. The pizza taste like frozen pizza for the grocery store. Tomato sauce has a weird tangy taste to it. The cheese on the pizza reminds me of Chuck E. Cheese pizza, hard & chewy. The restaurant is nice. Nice décor. But food is trash for sure.

We’ve been to Broadway Pizza on a couple of occasions — once for to-go and once for dine-in. Their pizza is VERY good. It’s weird to describe because it looks like thin crust but it’s slightly thicker? We’ll call it medium crust? Lol The toppings feel premium but the prices aren’t. The parking is terrible which is why this location gets a star demerit! Overall, I think this place is definitely worth going to. If you don’t do take out, then park down the street or across the street.

The reviews for Broadway Pizza on Mendenhall certainly run the gamut. I’ve been here a few times, and at the original location many times. With their pizza(not other items), you either love it or hate it. I do tend to love their pizza. Sometimes, it’s better than other times, but, usually very good. That being said, hey Broadway, you’re a pizza place, if your business plan at lunch is to promote a Meat &2 scenario, at this particular location, you need to change, and do so quickly. We came the 1st week it opened, a few times since, and then yesterday. We were 1 of only 2 groups there at lunch, and, the only group there when we left. That’s a shame, because I really do like the pizza. Their meat &2’s, tons of food, but, the concept is NOT going to work in E. Memphis at a pizza place during lunch. I hear that management reads ‘Urban Fork’ reviews, so perhaps these comments will make it to them also: 1. No meat &2 restaurant will make it at lunch offering as many(6 or so?) main dishes each and every day. Cut it down to 2 per day, plus… 4 veggies per day. 2. Once you do that, you can season the meat & veggies better. Lower the size of the monster plate, and, slightly lower the price. 3. I still don’t know if this will work in a pizza place, but, if you’re stuck on the concept, at least fine tune it so you don’t drown in the(lack of) results. 4. Have the specials listed in clear site with the price. Yesterday, they were read to us, no price given, and we couldn’t remember the main items as there were so many. 5. Don’t try to compete at lunch with say, Patrick’s, which I can take or leave, but, look at the cars in their parking lot.(Can you say 80⁄20 principle?) 4. I don’t like, and most people I know, don’t like, a pizza buffet. BUT, we like your pizza, can’t wait ½ hr. to get it cooked. Yes, we could call it in ahead of time, but we don’t have to with you competition for lunch. Compromise, perhaps personal pan pizzas, or pizza by the slice. Will it lose some of it’s ‘character’, maybe. How about pizza slice & ½ salad, or ½ sandwich… etc. similar to what Jason’s does, what Memphis P Café does. If you’re happy with your new location’s bottom line, certainly disregard my comments. But, based on each visit, my guess is revenue is taking a strong Southward direction.

So we had«Wife Day»(the one day each week that I meet wifey for lunch) at Broadway Pizza and, ironically, were in the mood for burger and fries. And, as you can imagine, I was quite excited to see«almost 1 lb. of meat in all of our burgers» in the menu. My gluttony gland kicked in. I ordered the mushroom/Swiss. The burger patty was big and thick, but unfortunately appeared to have been steamed rather than cooked on a flat grill. I think this may have been the result of covering the patty with a dome while grilling. The result was not the grilled ‘crust’ that would be expected. Also, the patty didn’t seem to have any seasoning. Just bland. I think, with open-air grilling and seasoning on the patty, they could turn that burger into a winner as the meat did seem to be of high quality. On a positive note, I took my team to Broadway weeks earlier. We had a huge plate of wings and the All-Pig pizza. Both were great.

This was our first time eating at any Broadway Pizza and we visited around 4pm on a Sunday. We ordered the ‘Fried Green Tomatoes’ and the 12″ ‘Around the World Sausage’. Our waitress recommended an appetizer, as the pizzas are made completely from scratch and take some time to prepare, which did take about 25 minutes, but was worth the wait. The FGTs were prepared in old-fashioned-style, seasoned cornmeal batter that had a good flavor. Cooked nice and crispy and the tomatoes were still firm and plump inside. Good flavor and very tasty. The pizza was loaded with toppings and had just the right amount of cheese to give everything balance. They are very generous with the toppings. The sauce was mildly sweet and not over or underwhelming. The crust had a crispy base, but depending on the toppings, you may want to move quickly, so it doesn’t get soaked by juices. Overall, the pizza looks good and tastes good! The lemon cake was fresh and moist and also tasted very good. Staff was friendly and attentive. Love the addition of another locally owned restaurant to the East Memphis area.

The four stars given is based on more than just the pizza. The pizza is good old school style with very good toppings but an average premade crust that can be a little soggy. I ask for extra crispy. The BLT is fantastic with some super great crispy bacon on white bread. Just like moms make them. The fried catfish is good as well as the spaghetti. I could actually name several other good things to eat but just try what sounds good to you as its all good food. Super nice owners and staff. Great locally owned business to support.
