Latte was just ok. Girl ringing me up was kinda rude when I asked if she did latte art. She said«No we don’t do that here.» And I’ve seen it online that’s why I came by, when I told her that, she just said«Not here.» Nothing special, Internet didn’t even work when I was there.

This was my first time here. I like the location and according to the cashier, this is the original location. It’s bigger than the location near the University of Memphis. I ordered breakfast to go. Two eggs scrambled with cheese, 3 turkey sausage links, biscuit, and potato hash. I also ordered a café au lait. The eggs were scrambled nicely and they were fluffy. I added cheddar cheese of course. The turkey sausage links were moist and not tough at all like your typical links. I did not particularly enjoy the potato hash, it was julienne style white potatoes and sweet potatoes. The café au lait was so good. I added just 1 pack of sugar in the raw but it was super smooth and creamy. I will come back next time and sit down to get the full experience. All of the employees were very friendly and didn’t mind my gawking at everything. I’ll be back!

This café was a very cute and lovely café. The interior wasn’t very bright but it added a little more private feel. The food was very well designed, was drink was so adorable. I would tell my friends about this place for a date or a friends day out any time

The only thing holding me back from giving five stars was the wait time and that we felt a bit rushed once we finally did get a table. Now, I don’t mind waiting for a good meal, but our wait ended up being 20 minutes longer than what we were told. Other than that, everything was great! The service was quick, as soon as we sat down we were asked if we wanted to order. I appreciate the urgency, but I felt a bit rushed as I had not had a chance to look at the menu yet. I ordered an iced coffee, which was delicious! My boyfriend had a regular hot coffee and he said it is possibly the best coffee he’s had in Memphis. For breakfast, I had an omelette with goat cheese(I absolutely love goat cheese, so any place that has it is a win in my book!), mushrooms, tomatoes and spinach. My omelet came with biscuits, which were very fluffy and fresh. My boyfriend had a scramble with biscuits and a side of bacon. Both of our meals were delicious and very filling. The prices were great too! I think most of their breakfasts are around $ 10, and you get plenty of food. The atmosphere is very welcoming and bright. Overall, a great place for breakfast or brunch!

I live right down the street from Café Eclectic and have been coming here regularly for the past three years. As other reviewers have pointed out, be prepared for a wait because they’re very slow. I’ve accepted that about this place because they typically make good food. But something’s happened recently that’s made me change my mind about them. A couple weeks ago, I walked in there with two others, and the hostess was doing something else until someone else walked in and promptly seated them without even acknowledging my existence right in front of her. Without any apologies, I eventually got seated. Fast forward to the next time I stop by for breakfast. It’s busy, so like I said, I expect to wait. But my wife, kids and I literally waited an hour and a half after being seated and our order taken. At the same time, we continued to see people around us, who had came in after us and ordered stuff that was way more complex, get served before us. I finally complained to the manager, and our food appeared 10 minutes later. In other words, they lost our order and couldn’t be bothered to ask us again what we wanted. The food itself, all stuff we’ve ordered a lot of times before, was almost inedible(except for the fact that we were starving). When we showed up late for our next event, we apologized to our friend by saying we got stuck at Café Eclectic for breakfast. Unprompted, our friend proceeded to tell us a story about CE that was almost identical to ours. At this point, I’m giving up on Café Eclectic. It was nice while it lasted, but I really have to find a better place to have breakfast until I hear that some changes have happened there.

I stopped in with my wife for breakfast and it was good. I ordered the traditional with scrambled eggs, biscuits, turkey sausage, hash browns and a biscuit. My wife ordered the«The Avalon» and some pancakes. We both were well pleased. The pancakes were nice and big and I was able to help my wife with her pancakes. Our server, Karen, was super! She took really good care of us and gave us everything we needed for a great start to our day! If you visit, be sure to ask for Karen! This is a good family friendly restaurant with a relaxing atmosphere. I will be back for lunch.

I live literally 3 minutes from this amazing place and I have nothing but good things to say about it. Of course because it’s Sunday it’s über crowded, so be prepared for that if you’re going on the weekends. Not really the place to get much work done. From what I could see the wait was around 30 mins. However, I sat at the bar. My order was quickly taken at the bar and my entire wait was all of 15 mins before I ate. I had the Cream Brulatte and Challah French Toast with a side of Porcellinos bacon… yum! My Brulatte was everything I expected. The raw sugar sprinkled on top made it even better. Challah French Toast was to die for! Typically, I’m not a blue berry topping kind of girl but the fresh berry topping and syrup was pretty good. The café has a cute little hipster vibe and that can lead to some pretty interesting people watching lol

I went there 3 days in a row while in Memphis recently and had a great experience each time. It has a really relaxed environment, great food, and great coffee. The sort of place you could come to with friends or by yourself, either would be fine They serve Illy coffee which is always excellent, and you can get it in a French press. We didn’t have to wait to be seated and the service was prompt and friendly. I had different combinations from the make-your-own-omelet section and the French omelet. All were very good. What really stood out for me was the smaller portion sizes. I could finish the entire plate and feel full but not too full. It was just right.

I really like the food at Café Eclectic and the environment is chill, but I have to be honest and say this is the third consecutive bad experience I have had there.(I know, silly me for going back again.). I called in an order and was given a 10 – 15 minute wait time. I showed up 20+ minutes later and waited an additional 15 minutes for my order, which was wrong. I had this exact same experience the last time I called in a to go order. At least the last time this happened the guy ringing me up apologized, asked me to sit down at the bar, and offered me something to drink. I really hope they get it together if I visit again.

Since it was +1 hour wait time at Hog & Hogmanay, we decided to head to Café Eclectic for brekkie/early brunch based on recommendations. I really liked the cool-funky vibe but there was a 20 min waiting time if sitting inside vs table available straightaway if sitting outside on the patio(which was a wee bit wet due to the Spring Rains). All three of us were starving, so choice of the patio table was a no-brainer for us. Service was a bit scatter-brain at the beginning as the hostess was going to get a cloth to wipe down the wet table/chairs, but forgot all about it and so I ended up just sitting on my coat. I got a glass of refreshing and freshly squeezed OJ — loved the gnarly bits of orange pith that were floating around and would totally recommend! One thing to note however is that the café menu has it available in two sizes: $ 2.50 for a small glass and $ 5 for a big glass. I asked for the small size, but apparently that was an error about the size, as the OJ only comes in the big size and they charged me $ 2.50 for it. In contrast my bother got iced coffee and unfortunately it was dark roast which he hates, so luckily the third member of our party took that off his hands. So note, if you prefer medium to light roast, make sure you check which coffee you chose to get! I decided to get the Biscuits and gravy($ 3.50 for x2 biscuits), my brother got Stack of pancakes($ 5.50) and our friend got a Rachel Breakfast wrap. I liked my biscuits + gravy but it sat fairly stodgy in my tummy afterwards and so probably won’t get this again. My brother asked for maple syrup for his pancakes, but instead got the synthetic substitute, and so it just wasn’t his morning. He ended up leaving a fair bit behind on his plate. Our friend made the best choice with his Rachel breakfast wrap as the avocado + bacon + eggs + cheese + bell peppers was perfectly and neatly put together. I def want to come here again — it was overall good food, and I know to check coffee and validate the«realness» of the maple syrup for next time! Note: #48 of Unilocal 100 challenge for 2016

Not impressed with our breakfast here. I met a group of girls here late Saturday morning. We all got coffees and later ordered some food. As we ordered food I asked for more coffee. 15 minutes later we flagged our waiter and I asked about my coffee. Our server seemed unperturbed and finally filled me up. We waited awhile for the food and finally asked. Soon the food was delivered. We were all cold and asked for the fan above us to be turned off. This request was granted and we also asked for the AC to be adjusted. We were just uncomfortable and unimpressed

The hubs and I came here after one of his night shifts for a breakfast date. I normally prefer coffee from local roasters, but after trying Illy coffee here, I can forgive them — YUM. We sat in a corner booth next to the window, I ordered a cup of coffee and my husband got an espresso con panna. He got the Whole 9 Yards, which was a LOT of food, and perfect for the man who’d been working all night long. I got the Avalon Scramble, possibly my first time ordering scrambled eggs at a restaurant for breakfast, and I’m so glad I did! It was filling, cheesy, and perfectly seasoned. I feel like I need to step up my scramble game at home! Their biscuits are ridiculous. Flaky, buttery, fresh, and so perfect for a carboholic like myself. The only downfall of this place is that when going to eat there for breakfast during the week, you’ll be fighting school traffic(going 25 mph). The parking lot is a little tight, but it’s worth it all for those biscuits and the Illy coffee.

Ok, this place is really popular so be prepared to wait. They’re also pretty disorganized, so don’t expect great service or attention to detail. My coffee was only refilled once in 40 min– our server spent more time chatting than working. The food is very good, but also expect a ridiculously long wait for food.

Love, Love, Love! They really pride themselves on making everything from scratch, and that goes a long way. Everything is super fresh and light, which was perfect for a mid morning pick me up :)! The vegan pancakes. The vegan pancakes. My friend who apparently hates pancakes ate almost all of them without even adding syrup. That’s how stinking good those pancakes were. The honey granola on top is absolutely wonderful, and I love that they use local honey! They are also awesome about accommodating you to make sure you get whatever your heart desires(to a certain extent of course ;).) This place is very charming, and I love that it is a local, family owned business!

So I wanted more from Café Eclectic, but it wasn’t so bad that I won’t give it another shot on another day. I went today for brunch, mainly because I had heard so many good things about its brunch and I was in the area. I was dining alone so I didn’t expect a long wait. I came in and there were about 6 people milling around waiting to be seated but no hostess in sight. What felt like about 5 minutes later, still no one had come to seat or greet anyone. Eventually I just seated myself at the bar. Service was quick once I say down, and the coffee was good and piping. I ordered the Whole 9 Yards. It came in due time and in general was a good plate of food. The biscuits were especially good. BUT the grits were terrible. They were stone ground and cooked well, but completely tasteless. I mean these grits were the pits. I doctored them up with salt, pepper, butter and a little sugar and they were finally edible. I know that sugar isn’t a regular seasoner if grits, but salt and/or pepper are. And these grits were lacking. Also, one of Eclectic’s selling points is that they get their sausage and bacon from Porcellinos. Well Porcellinos would be disappointed in how Eclectic is cooking up their meats. The sausage was dry and shriveled. Ultimately, it wasn’t what I expected but for that area it’s better than IHOP, so my options are limited so I can’t swear that I’ll never go back again…

This is one of my most favorite places for brunch. We go to the cooper young location. There is always a wait but so worth it. There coffee is just amazing, soooooo good. My husband is the biggest fan of their black bean wraps. If you are a vegetarian, you ll go nuts for it. Last visit we tried their popular Nutella French toast, don’t even get me started on how heaven it was. I do not have a sweet tooth, but this I simply loved it!!! Their turkey sausage has this amazing cumin flavor which I love. Writing this review makes me sooooper hungry. Can’t wait for our next brunch date!!!

I went with two friends for breakfast after a yoga session at Levitt Shell. I had never been to this location before. Parking is limited in the side of the street CE is on, so I parked across from it. We made it in just before they got slammed. I ordered the grits w cheese and jalapeños. I also had two eggs over medium. Both parts of my meal were good. I wish the grits had more cheese in them, as I love cheesy grits. The eggs were done to my liking. Service was up to par as well. Both Memphis residents and visitors would find something they would like here.

Great find for brunch and lunch. There is a large menu that accommodated a wide variety of tastes at reasonable prices and dietary restrictions, whether you are looking for a vegetarian lunch options or a soul– food inspired brunch. The chicken and waffles is particularly great– the chicken has a thick, crunchy crust with a great spice. The thin, basic buttermilk waffle doesn’t overwhelm the awesome chicken. Omg, I want more right now. The biscuits are also fantastic and worth ordering as a side. During the week, Café Eclectic is busy but you can still find a table, but it gets incredibly busy on Weekend brunches. We showed up at 12:30 on Sunday with a party of 10 and had to wait 20 minutes for a table(which was not bad considering how busy they were). The customer base is a great snapshot of Mid-town Memphians. Service was great, even when it was incredibly busy. Lunch and brunch entrees average $ 9-$ 11 dollars. Ample lot and street parking nearby.

The food here truly is eclectic. Colorful, creative, and usually pretty light– save the occasional sprinkle of cheese or egg. I prefer lunch to breakfast, because the wait for breakfast is absolutely ridiculous. Brother Juniper’s is easier to get into, though the food isn’t nearly as tasty. Salads are lunch are great, and specials are posted on chalkboards. Breakfast is a must-do at some point, though probably not on parents’ weekend at Rhodes(omg!). If the food were 5-star, I’d give it 3 stars. I knock down if I have to wait!

Never had a bad bite of food at Café Eclectic! This review is about the brunch menu — the four-page brunch menu. Be prepared to wait. The food/brunch menu is so good, the restaurant gets slammed every Sunday. I got Rachel’s Breakfast Wrap(Naked — just the inside of the wrap — an omelette or scrambled). It comes with bacon, bell peppers, red peppers, avocado, provalone cheese and onions — all finely chopped. The egg was cooked to perfection. The biscuits are delicious too. You can also opt for toast. We were celebrating and though the restaurant does not serve mimosas, we brought our own champagne and mixed it with orange juice. The staff is personable and hardworking. The owner is calm, all smiles, and looks you directly in the eye. The chicken and waffle dish is par excellence! The syrup is so good and the waffles are not Belgian. Café Eclectic is such a good pick, they now have three locations. #NotSurprised #Yelp901
