im SO happy that this place opened up closer to midtown! food: CHICKENSHAWERMAPLATE: omg amazing. comes with ½ plate of meat, ½ plate of delicious warm and moist rice, and soft potatoes and carrots. $ 12.95 CHICKENSHAWERMASANDWICH: i usually get this one, but i will say it doesnt come with any type of rice, so it can get kind of dry in your mouth the more you eat it. but it is LOADED with meat(has the same amount of meat as the plate, but almost ½ the price!) if your’e trying to save monies and you want something that will definitely fill you up, i would get the sandwich. ~$ 8.95 TEA: amazing tea. its very different from your typical southern sweet tea and different from your typical tea. its refreshing, not too sweet, and very authentic. DEFINITELY try their tea here! i will say though there is a bit of an aftertaste of spices, but not TOO strong, that was something i was afraid of too but definitely gives this tea its uniqueness. ~$ 1.95 other details: service is amazing, quick, friendly! they’re so quick to come seat you and take your order and help you with your meal. the food comes out VERY quickly for a sit down restaurant. best of all: they have an outdoor patio for you to bring your pup! #pupfriendlypatios(i wish you could search Unilocal reviews for hashtags within a certain city) perfect for: taking your parents, taking your in-laws, birthday parties, chill get togethers, catching up with friends, celebrating happy things, celebrating graduation, etc! very family friendly place as well.

I nearly chose a different restaurant for my birthday dinner after learning that Casablanca did not serve alcohol, but man I am glad I didn’t! The food here is soooo tasty and unique. And they easily have the best tea in Memphis! We had an appetizer of the falafel hummus platter, which was the perfect start to our meal. The falafel is perfectly crisp and flavorful. They serve pita bread with the dish as well, to dip in the hummus. For dinner, I had the Shararma platter with lamb, which came with rice, roasted carrots, and roasted potatoes. The meat was very tender and flavorful. My boyfriend had mixed Kababs, and tried both the chicken and lamb. Both our meals were delicious, and we were given enough food for 4 meals easily. You get so much food here! I can’t wait to come for lunch sometime to try one of their sandwiches!

Been here 3 times now. Love the place. Food is great. I love their vegetarian options the best. The veg platter is delicious. The best part is their hot sauce and their hot tea. Is a must have with your food. I am giving it 4 stars because I wish they had separate lamb dish. The first time I came here I came to eat lamb. I wanted a lamb shawarma. But then I was told they don’t have lamb by itself. It is mixed in with beef. So they have beef lamb pre made mixed meat shawarma. I don’t eat beef. So that was disappointing. But nevertheless, I love the veg options. Chicken shawarma is good too. Please know that they do not serve alcohol and do not allow you to bring your own also. But the food is amazing. The humus for appetizer is delicious too! It’s a must eat on Madison.

I don’t know the«first thing» about Moroccan/middle eastern food; although I have spent a few days in Egypt & Turkey and the food at Casablanca was better than anything I had in these countries. Time of Day: Lunch Atmosphere: In this price range, excellent — would have been good for even another«$» up. They have a very nice deck for outdoor seating — although we didn’t use it — because it was pretty warm this afternoon(1 June 2016) — and the experience would have been too much like Morocco(warm). Everything was clean, the table tops are synthetic stone(like a counter top) and they were absolutely spotless(not even a finger print). The kitchen has windows in the doors so you can see the kitchen(nothing to hide in the«back»). Décor is distinctly middle-eastern. Service: We had two(2) people waiting on our table. Both were very nice and attentive, without being«too much» — Five Stars on the service. What we Had: I had the chicken shawarma sandwich. I read on the menu that it would be in pita bread(on the menu) — so I expected something like a gyro(which it was). What I didn’t know was that it would be in a whole pita — rather than the usual ½ for a gyro. It was packed with chicken. My friend had the beef + lamb shawarma sandwich(equally stuffed); and we split am order of fries. Neither of us finished — not because it wasn’t good — it was so much food. To be honest, the spices were not what I’m «used to», but that is part of the experience. The yogurt sauce is good, and complements the spices on the chicken/lamb/beef. I did have the iced tea. It is seasoned with honey, ginger and sage. It is well — different. I think some folks will really like it; but I really didn’t care for it. I’ll go with something else next time. Closing Comments: It isn’t a place I will go to everyday — but I expect to go once or twice a month. I’ll definitely go back.

This is literally some of the tastiest food I’ve had in Memphis, and the ambiance is amazing! I got the Chicken Shawarma with hummus. I didn’t want to eat the pita slices because I’m trying to lower my carb intake and they were kind enough to bring me cucumber slices. The vegetables were extremely fresh. The meal was absolutely divine! The layout and interior design make you feel like you’ve been transported all the way to Morocco. I love restaurants that make you feel like you’re on vacation. They also have an incredible deck that has ample seating. Our meal was about $ 15 per person. The only challenge can be parking. I suggest you park on Madison Avenue. I have BIG plans to return on a regular basis and make my way through the menu.

I really wish I could give it a better review. The location is beautiful, while the servers are gracious and friendly. Everything is great pretty much except the food. The spanikopita was soggy and had almost no feta. The spinach also looked overcooked. Had the lamb schwarerma appetizer. So disappointing. It was just a little plate of chopped meat that looked like dog food. It tasted like A1 steak sauce. $ 9 for that? Yikes. The falafel sandwich was average. It disappoints me to say that the one from pita pit is better. I honestly haven’t found any good Mediterranean or middle eastern food in Memphis. This was my last hope and it didn’t plan out.

As a Middle Eastern myself, I tend to be a pretty harsh critic of Middle Eastern food. It’s just in our nature to claim that nothing tastes nearly as good as our mothers’ home cooking(specifically my mom’s; she’s the best) and constantly spout that quality Middle Eastern restaurants are hard to come by. Although Casablanca’s food is a bit different than the Middle Eastern food I’m use to eating at home, it doesn’t fit that usual category of bad Middle Eastern restaurants! I enjoyed my meal and would definitely recommend you try it out. My sisters and I started off with the falafel hummus platter. There was nothing unfamiliar here; it tasted just like home! The falafel was made perfectly; they got everything from the taste to the crispiness right. The five pieces of falafel were served on top of a full plate of hummus. The hummus was equally tasty and impressive for a restaurant because hummus is usually the dish I criticize the most. While there was plenty of hummus, I wish they put more falafel on the platter. It was so good that it took a lot of might to willingly eat one piece and allow my two sisters to each get two pieces. For my main dish, I ordered the holy land shish kabob(chicken skewers) with sides of tabouli(instead of rice) and vegetables(steamed carrots and potatoes). Everything on the plate was pretty good. It is a solid dish and a great healthy option. I also tried a few bites from my sisters’ dishes: the chicken shawerma sandwich and the beef & lamb shawerma sandwich. They were good, but they’re not traditional shawermas. First off, the toppings were slightly odd. They put tomatoes and lettuce in the shawerma, making it more similar to an american style sandwich. That would be fine if you could modify it, but they don’t offer the classic toppings such as toum(garlic sauce), tahini sauce, pickles, and pickled turnips making it impossible to craft it into a traditional shawerma. They do offer their own two sauces though, one of them being a hot sauce. Also, the shawerma isn’t a wrap; everything is stuffed into the pita as is. That isn’t really a big deal though; it’s the toppings in the shawerma that are critical. Regardless, the meat inside was well seasoned and constituted for a good sandwich. They really pack it with meat, so you get your money’s worth with the sandwich. I personally preferred the beef & lamb over the chicken, but they were both tasty. In the end, Casablanca puts out quality food that will satisfy your Middle Eastern food craving. Yeah, it’s a bit different than what I am use to in some aspects, but that doesn’t mean it’s not good. It’s a solid Middle Eastern restaurant worth checking out.

I have no idea what I ordered, but it took 3 people to bring it. The entire wait staff watched me eat it and clapped when I finished. I’m in love!

I’m a big fan of this place. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the food is amazing, and the staff are very friendly. The last couple times I’ve gone I ordered the shawarma platter and the shawarma sandwich with hummus. Neither disappointed! The waitress was really cute too :)

Probably one of my favorite places to go eat at around Memphis. If you are open to trying Middle Eastern food, then this is a must. Staff/service are very friendly, and provide an authentic dining experience. Usually I get Shawarma sandwich with fries or Shawarma plate. I’ve tried the chicken, beef/lamb, and mixed. I have also tried the Falafel with hummus appetizer. All of these are delicious. Shawarma — has nice savory and salty taste to it, and it is balanced out by rice or pita. Falafel with hummus —(house, import) olive oil is drizzled over the hummus with falafel arranged around the hummus and served with pita. This was pleasant appetizer, the falafel is full of flavors and the hummus/olive oil gives it a nice change in pace during the appetizer as well. All food comes with 2 different house sauces to dress your food. A creamy pink sauce which is a savory taste. A green, herb-spicy sauce which definitely has some kick. I usually use both sauces. MUST at least taste the sauces.

Eh… I came really excited to try this place based on reviews from friends. Unfortunately the food overall was not outstanding and the dish options were somewhat limited. The atmosphere is amazing… Absolutely gorgeous. When I arrived I was expecting the place to be super fancy based on the décor and overall feel of the restaurant. I was surprised when I opened the menu and the dish options were not of the same caliber as the décor. Overall they lacked variety which I have seen in other Mediterranean places up east. Service was good and they do have some outstanding hot tea, just like everyone raves. I ordered a dish and two appetizers, non of which I can really recall at this point because they were all mediocre. I do know my dish had lamb, which was poorly cooked. The prices are reasonable but reflect the simple and poorly prepared(cooked and seasoned) food. It’s like I’m confused as to whether this is a fine dining place or a cafeteria fast food line. Either way the nice setting isn’t enough to bring me back. I’ll just wait for my next trip to DC.

I love the tea here. You can also get some to take home and brew. Great vegetarian meals and the schwarma is amazing. Authentic Middle Eastern food in a great atmosphere. The servings are pretty large so come hungry.

I have been itching to try this place for ages! It was amazing. Very authentic middle eastern food. The first thing we ordered is their hot tea which really does live up to its name(Best hot tea in Memphis). I kept asking for more refills. We tried the hummus platter, spicy feta dip, and vegetarian platter. The hummus was phenomenal and the peta it comes with is fresh and fluffy. The dip was yummy but spicy as the name indicates. The vegetarian platter comes with delicious falafel bites, stuffed grape leaves, steamed vegetables, and small spanakopita bites. Everything was amazing. The server was incredibly nice and the décor of the place transports you to another world. Definitely worth giving this new location a try!

This is a new favorite of mine in Midtown! Walked right in on a Friday(no wait), ordered and had food in front of us just a few minutes later. With sandwiches in the $ 8-$ 10 range, with a $ 3 charge to add a salad, the two of us are for under $ 30 and we were FULL! We each had pita sandwiches(falafel for me and chicken shawarma for my husband) with Greek salads on the side. To call these things«sandwiches» is almost a misnomer — they are packed with veggies and the filling of your choice for a very satisfying meal. When you add the sauces, it puts them over the top! The green sauce is very spicy but comes on slow … Yum! To add to the appeal of this place, the service is warm and welcoming. As first time visitors, we were welcomed and treated graciously when we had questions about the menu. The server even asked my name and remembered me when I came back the next week(it’s that good)!!

Had my first visit last night with my foodie partner in crime. It was awesome — no wait(Tuesday around 6:30 pm) and plenty of seats but plenty of people there enjoying their food. The parking situation wasn’t bad at all as I cut over from Union and could take a right onto the actual street. There are SO many things to choose from. My friend got the chicken couscous plate, I got the mix kebab(one chicken, one lamb) that was simply dressed and included onion, and grape leaves. I also got the hot tea, which is perfect and(I’m assuming — I was only charged for the first order) free refills! The sauce they top the kebab with is also provided in a bottle, along with a sort of spicy tzatziki style cream sauce. I could probably drown myself in lamb kebab with the sauce and the grape leaves, and die a very very happy lady. One note on the grape leaves — these are awesome, made fresh and served hot. They are not the super compact and cold little ones you’ll get in a grocery store ready-made section or at the deli. If you’re not acclimated to the texture, it may be a little iffy for you. Last but not least, the entire staff was awesome! We were waited on by two gentlemen, and they all seemed to be aware of each others’ parties and made sure to refill tea, water, etc. very promptly. I’m looking forward to returning to enjoy the beautiful décor, try another dish and their Turkish coffee!

It’s official, I like this place. I’ve been wanting to try the Poplar location since I moved here a few years ago but never made my way over to do so. Thank goodness the owner decided to open a midtown location. I’ve been twice this month– once for lunch and once for dinner. For lunch, my friend and I both had the lamb & beef shawarma. He had hummus and lemonade, too. For dinner, I had the 5030 Poplar which is kifta over hummus with pita bread; this was served with 2 yummy sauces. And I had the lemonade this time, freshly squeezed with honey. I couldn’t eat all my food so I have lunch for tomorrow and I couldn’t leave without a chocolate mousse to go. Oh, and the service was fantastic. The staff is delightful.

This new location is incredible! Beautiful authentic décor and of course delicious food. It’s pretty impressive that a local business can maintain the same level of high quality food and great service at 3 locations! You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. The falafel hummus platter is great to share. The hummus is perfectly smooth and tangy and the falafels are tiny bites of fried goodness. I usually alternate between the chicken shawerma or beef kifta kabab sandwich. My husband sticks with his favorite dish here, the mixed shawerma platter which comes piled high with beef and lamb shawarma along with buttery rice with carrots and potatoes. Yum!!! Don’t forget the tea(hot or cold), aptly named«the best tea in Memphis.» This tea honestly solves most of life’s problems. Best Middle Eastern food in Memphis, no contest.

I got super excited to learn that Casablanca was opening a restaurant in midtown, and couldn’t wait to eat here when they actually opened. This location of Casablanca is the BOMB. The patio dining is so cute and comfy. And down how the service is also better at this location. The food is exactly the same quality as the previous location. I love the chicken shawarma sandwich and my husband is a sucker for their Big Mac falafel sandwich. Add those two sauces to your sandwiches, and you have the most perfect meal ever. I also love their babaganoush and always add tons of extra olive oil to the dips. Their olive oil is just perfect. One minor gripe is their ice tea. I don’t think it’s as good as the old location. But Yayy to more amazing restaurants in Memphis. Gotta love this!
