This is Jewelry I like to buy… it’s very cool modular pieces you can mix and match to change the look every time. I have always received excellent customer service from the store owner. I’ve been a customer for years and like that she always knows what’s on the «wish list» and more importantly what we already have.

This store offers very unique jewelry — one of two in the entire US. With this uniqueness come a higher price. The concept is interchangeable jewelry, which is pretty cool. One would need to start out with a ring, necklace, or bracelet base and then from there select center stones and disks to make a custom look. Each piece can be mixed and matched with the others so one you have a few pieces you can really get a variety of looks. Make sure if you are getting a gift here the recipient already has a base piece or otherwise you’ll need to get that too. The owner, Sarah, is great at keeping up with her customers wish list and identifying their style. They have starter sets for rings and necklaces for people who are wanting to give this a try but consider yourself warned that it can become addictive rather quickly. They have just released a starter set that is the ring base and three center pieces — one large pink pearl and two faceted stones for a little over $ 700 to give you an idea on the pricing. When starting out you also get the tools needed to change out pieces and Sarah will demonstrate how it’s done and have you practice before leaving /​but if you’re terrible at doing it you can drop in to have pieces changed out. I’ve attached two pictures to show how I took a amethyst disk and mixed it into a necklace and a ring.

From a guys point of view this store is a great place to purchase something amazing for that special someone in your life! Super selection, staff makes it easy to shop and is always willing to offer ideas. Easy to get into and out of so no fighting traffic at the mall or other shopping areas. And most importantly, very unique pieces!

Charlotte’s concept is so cool. I love that the stones or centerpieces are interchangeable to make bracelets and necklaces of different lengths and styles. I’m not a matchy-​matchy type girl, so I never wear alot of jewelry all at once. The idea behind Charlotte’s is perfect for me.
The pearls are my favorite, but I’ve seen a few other gorgeous pieces that I wouldn’t mind adding to my jewelry collection.

Though I am not a fan of the jewelry at Charlotte (it just isn’t my style sadly) I have to give them 4 stars simply because the jewelry here is fabulous. They have quite a selection– jewelry with animals, stones, glass jewelry, pearls, flowers, beads, diamonds etc. It is all high end… very high end. Like Kerry stated, everything is interchangeable. So though these pieces are on the expensive end, it really is worth the expense not only for quality, but for the simple fact that you can mix and match a few pieces to look like you have more.
The owner is an absolute doll, and is super friendly. She’ll help explain the styles to you and pair up matching necklace/​bracelet sets. Bonus for you guys, she has an excellent eye for choosing a special piece for your gal if you are having some issues.

Ever since I purchased my first Charlotte piece in 2006 I have been hooked. The combinations are endless and the quality is great. I love that you can purchase a piece here and there and grow your collection over time. I introduced my Mother to Charlotte and she loves it as much as I do.
The staff at Charlotte is another reason I keep coming back. Sarah is knowledgeable and so very helpful. They remember their customers and always ask how I am doing. Lindsey is great and I love the unique combinations she comes up with by adding a piece or two to my existing pieces.
I highly recommend Charlotte for anyone that loves jewelry and wants something different. You will not be disappointed.

South Main’s newest shop, Charlotte, is perfect for those of you who insist on taking everything apart.
The jewelry at Charlotte is sort of like adult Legos. All of the pieces in the collection fit with all of the other pieces. Meaning, the stones in the middle of the rings can become necklace pendants, necklaces can be snapped together to make longer necklaces, and round, flat stones and discs can be mixed and matched.
The shop is part of a German company called Charlotte Ehinger-​Schwarz that’s been open since 1876. There are only two stores in the US — one in Santa Fe and one in Memphis. The current collection has about 26,000 items in it, but only about 800 are available in the Memphis store. Starter kits start at around $ 175.
Charlotte’s owner, Sarah Worden, recently moved the shop from Germantown to South Main. Since the move, Worden said that she’s had more foot traffic than ever. It makes sense — South Main is a perfect neighborhood for the funky, pretty jewelry store.
