Estates At River Pointe

Used to be great, but now maintenance is incompetent to the point where i hate calling them and try to sort things myself so they don’t come and mess up something else while half-​fixing the first thing. Maintenance people are not trained plumbers/​anything really– they try hard to avoid calling a professional, leaving you to have trouble longer than is necessary – all while raising rental fees. This place has really gone downhill.

Visitors parking is far from some units. Did you know about that robbery within the complex in the news in the past? There was security patrolling before, but none when I lived there. The gate is often broken by people running the gate. Pool is closed during some of the earlier hot months. Mosquitos are out of control, good luck opening your door during the Summer months. Spiders are often a problem. If your unit smells like mold when you move in, it’s best to tell the manager before rather than just deal with it. Water bill is a separate utility not covered through MLGW and is a bit of an annoyance. Most tenants move out within a year, my whole building had new renters when I left, than speaks volumes.

I have lived here for three years, with no problems. However, I have a big problem now. RATS Seriously, they are everywhere. I have been calling the office for over a month about the problem, and I’m getting blown off. I’m being told that they are baiting the dozens of rat holes around the dumpster and in all the bushes… but I still see at least one rat a day, usually more. The tipping point came when I noticed two brand new rat holes less than a foot outside my bedroom window, and actually witnessed a rat crawling up out of it. The response when I called the office’ «Well, you do live by the river…»
Tonight, I stepped out on to my porch and into piles — yes piles — of rat poop. It’s all over our door mat, which means the rats are right up against my back door. I can’t even sleep here tonight.
Like I said, for three years, I had no problems living here. In fact, I recommended it to two friends who now live here too. However, I am disgusted by the place I live now. I pay too much for this to be an issue. And the worst part is the management doesn’t seem to care.
Don’t move in here. It’s gone severely downhill, and it’s getting worse. Unless, of course, you don’t mind rats. And stray dogs. Oh, I didn’t mention the diseased stray dogs who camp outside my door each day’ Yeah, there’s three of them. But don’t worry — I’ve seen them eat the rats.
