Extended Stay America – Memphis

Good service but thin walls! You can hear everything that is going on in the next room. Good or bad!

This place is definitely easy to find! We saw some reviews online that didn’t seem so appealing which made us skeptical about booking here but did it anyway…
We came during the after hours so we had to wait a couple of minutes for someone to open the door for us. I’m starting to notice that the night shift hotel workers definitely like to take their good olé time providing services… The front desk lady was nice but seemed a little grumpy, basically the type of grumpy when your nap get disrupted. but that didn’t bother me as much. She didn’t seem like she wanted to talk much so she just checked us in and gave us the key and was about to be on her marry way but we didn’t know what room we were going to. She just didn’t seem so cheerful or inviting at all. I honestly wasn’t that bothered but it would be nice to have at least have some type of warm welcoming or interaction of some type.
Anyway moving on. this hotel is definitely huge compared to the extended stays I’ve been to which is awesome! Just like any extended stay it comes with a refrigerator, stove top, and microwave! This one on the other hand had a lot of counterspace! But the only downfall with this extended stay is that there is no oven.
My 4 stars comes from the customer service along with the air conditioner and heater that is currently out of service in my room along with the smoke detector that seems to be ripped off the wall.
It kind of sucked not having the air conditioner due to the fact that it was hot, but good thing it was only a one night stay. If it were longer I would ask for a room change. But there’s more cons then pros. the hotel is under renovation which was truly needed from previous reviews… There seems to be a laundry room in every floor which is super convenient! The vending machine is on the first floor next to the service desk.
Overall, hotel is just like any extended stay, but bigger! Larger counterspace of you were to prepare a meal or do some business work and a laundry room in every floor which is convenient for the customer.
