OUTSTANDING!!! I’m in Memphis for business for three days. Tried Frank Grisanti the 1st night, and it was so good I had to come back the 2nd night. I intended to go to Beale Street, but, maybe next time. Apparently Grisantis’ has been around more than 100 years since 1909. I understand why. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. What else is there!!! I had the wedge salad and the penne polmodoro. With a glass of the ‘815’ Cab. OUTSTANDING !!! The steaks and seafood I saw looked excellent. However, I eat vegan and found options that were excellent and satisfied me.

I really expect more from this restaurant for the prices charged. I do like the atmosphere and the service is usually pretty good but the food needs a little work. Understand its not bad just not exceptional. I have been a Grisanti fan for years. I know several of the Grisantis and the food that they put out is usually spot on Italian. This restaurant puts out decent food but when I get my check, I sometimes have buyers remorse. My wife and I will surely visit this restaurant again. It’s a great place for a business lunch(not too noisy) but if I have a choice between Carrabba’s and this restaurant for dinner, I’m going to Carrabba’s.

Got to eat lunch here with my family on Thanksgiving. Must say very disappointed in there special menu for that day. This is an Italian restaurant and the choices were salmon or turkey and dressing. They should stick to what they are known for, Italian food. The salmon was just okay. My wife went for the turkey and dressing since she doesn’t do seafood. Needless to say she didn’t care much for it. The only saving grace was that the kids got to order off of the kids menu, and the only side item we both agreed that was good was the sweet potato casserole. The other side items were either cold or didn’t taste good. The service was also less than satisfactory, the server only brought out my wife’s tea. We had to ask where my children’s drinks were. This is not what I remember this restaurant being like the last time we came to visit. Looks like they also remodeled and for the worse. It use to be a more intimate place to enjoy a wonderful meal with someone special. Not anymore.

So I’ve loved anything Grisanti since I was little. I’m torn on how to review Frank’s because of the nostalgia I have from Ronnie’s but here goes… I ordered the same thing I’ve ordered my entire life. A Miss Mary’s salad(ask for the dressing on the side) and the Elfo. I don’t remember the Miss Mary’s having Gorgonzola but that might just be at this location. I love Gorgonzola so whatever. I was perfectly content with my order and I feel I always will be no matter which Grisanti’s I go to. I’ll review based on the other items we all ordered. We had some toasted ravioli’s and a flat bread which were both really good. Carter’s parents weren’t really into our location choice and their orders kind or reflected their enthusiasm. They both ordered the combination(I believe it was called that) which had veal, Elfo, and manicotti. The only thing cleared off the plate was the Elfo, the manicotti was next, but they both left almost the entire portion of veal. Carter tried the veal and everyone was in agreement that it just wasn’t very good. Carter’s dish was a total hit though. He ordered the Grouper and a side of Pappardelle w/sweet sausage ragu and every bit of it was delicious! Unfortunately I believe it really depends on what you order here. If you go for the traditional meatballs and veal or lasagna then you might go home dissatisfied but if you take a few suggestions from your server then maybe you can walk out a winner!(Sorry, I forgot to take picts)

Here’s what I want you to do. Go here on Friday night. Get the Prime Rib special, medium rare. Italian spinach and Miss Mary’s salad. Garlic toast on the side. Don’t worry. Be happy. Ask for Angela as your server.

Best Steak in town! Each time I visit Memphis, I eat at Frank Grisanti’s Italian restaurant. The food tastes good and the atmosphere and staff are outstanding. The last time I was at Grisanti’s, I decided to have a steak. I expected it to be good, but instead it was outstanding! I have eaten at Ruth’s Chris all over the country and I have eaten in other great steak restaurants as well, but I have to say, the New York Strip Steak at Grisanti’s is by far one of the best steaks that I have ever had. I thought perhaps it was a fluke, so on my next business trip to Memphis, I came back and ordered the steak. This steak was just as good as the last one. I am still sitting at Grisanti’s and I told myself, before I leave, I need to let the Memphis community and the world know. Want to have one of the best steaks ever? Come to Grisanti’s. If steak is not your thing, you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, but of course, you know my favorite.

We went for Mother’s Day brunch as that is where my Mother suggested. We had a rather large party of nine people which seemed to overwhelm the Waiter. It was a short fixed menu with a choice of Appetizer, Entrée and dessert for about $ 40 per person, not including beverage. My fiancé’ and I split our entrée and the total bill was over $ 130 for three people, which I felt was a little steep. I had a creamy, tasty shrimp bisque for my appetizer that was very good, it could of used some white wine or sherry. We ordered the Beef filet with crabmeat and eggplant, it was cooked properly but lacked flavor I thought. Others at the table ordered the lobster ravioli which was very rich for my taste. The key lime pie I had for dessert was very good as was the cheese cakewith fresh berries.

This was my family’s go-to Italian place while I was growing up. Ok, wait, it still is. The prices are WAY higher than I remember, and the menu is much smaller. The Grisanti name carries a lot of weight in this town as far as quality Italian goes, but I am afraid most dishes here seem to taste the same. It’s just generic Italian food, but a few rungs above Olive Garden and other chains. My go-to items are typically anything with their trademark meat sauce(spaghetti, ravioli, etc.). Not too much ambience, unless you consider the Embassy Suites to be a destination.

I went here for a business dinner with a group of 5 and we were promptly sat at a round table over in the corner. The first thing I had on my mind and thing that kept recurring throughout the meal was that it felt as though I was in the Godfather. This place is an old-fashioned nice Italian restaurant complete with all of the usual suspects on the menu. The décor wasn’t memorable and it looked like thousands of important deals had been made over the old tables in the dimly lit space. The waiters and especially the hosts seemed straight out of the movies(meaning really old-fashioned and formal). I usually prefer easy-going and welcoming but this was kind of quaint. The food was good but not great. Some in my party commented on just how garlicky everything seemed and nobody was super impressed. Everyone did leave full, however. We started off with some fried raviolis and some meatballs. The meatballs seemed overpriced for exactly what you get but they were juicy and went well with the bread. The raviolis were the favorite of the meal for my party. I had the Pappardelle with Wild Mushroom Ragu and it was a massive course of thick noodles with tons of mushrooms and a decent cream sauce. I left full but not overly impressed. The others in my party didn’t really enjoy their main courses, especially one guy who got the Maine Lobster Ravioli. It didn’t really sit well with him and he barely finished a quarter of the plate. Pros: Good service and great wine selection make me feel like I’m in the Godfather or Goodfellas here. Cons: Overpriced and underwhelming food for the most part. They are definitely going for the business crowd and do a good job of setting the expectation that the business crowd will eat here but I can’t imagine a foodie or a family wanting to enjoy a nice meal here. Italian food is supposed to be about warmth and family and I didn’t feel that as much as I wanted here. Overall: It’s a decent dinner spot but there are plenty of other better options around. The wine list is great, the beer list is poor, and the food is middle-of-the-road. I would recommend trying somewhere else if you have a business dinner in town.

I have been a fan of all the Grisanti’s restaurants for many years. I went to Frank’s the other night and found it as wonderful as ever. Beautiful dining area with tasteful Christmas décor, soft music and dimly lite makes for a wonderful dining experience. The food is consonantly delicious. Elfo special is wonderful! The only thing I can comment on is the prices of the wine is too expensive, but other than that I recommend FG.

Attended their Thanksgiving luncheon yesterday; impressive. Service was wonderful; menu appropriate; wine — champagne delightful. I cannot speak to week day nor week-end outings yet yesterday was solid.

Of all the Italian places I’ve been to in the greater Memphis area, this has been the best place to this date. I came here with my girlfriend’s family(her cousin and his new wife were in town visiting for the evening). The server was very friendly throughout our experience; she always filled our drinks promptly and was very informative about different parts of the menu. I had the spaghetti and ravioli combo with added meatballs. My girlfriend had the lobster ravioli. One MAJOR drawback to this place is that salad doesn’t come with the meal, which I found odd for an Italian establishment, but I digress. Our meals came out, and a smile came over my face when I tried my spaghetti. Finally, I found someone in town who could make a good meat-sauce for pasta! Not to bitter, not to sweet, and rich in flavor, this pasta was definitely a step above many other establishments I’ve tried in the area. The meatballs were alright, but were on the bitter side for some reason that I couldn’t put my finger on. I also had a bite of my gf’s lobster ravioli which was good as well. I felt my price-point was appropriate(approximately $ 14) and the portion was generous, whereas her entrée was a bit steep for the limited portion she received($ 18). I definitely will be coming back to this restaurant and encourage you all to give it a try as well. Everyone has different tastes, so this place may not be for you; that being said, I found them to be excellent and plan on ordering my dish time and time again.

My family went for dinner at my grandmothers suggestion and were pretty pleased with our meals. I had never really considered this spot before being that its in a hotel but it certainly didn’t feel like tourist food. I will say although nice and upscale the interior is a little dated, just getting rid of the carpet alone would be a nice update. It’s also a little dark. I had the lobster ravioli which was good but had too much butter and was a little small portion wise, but everyone else’s meals were substantial. I would have been happier if I had gotten a salad, which does not come with the entrees. We all each got dessert as well, my cheesecake was good but not the best I’ve had. My bf really enjoyed his spaghetti with meatballs and would like to return. The inconsistency in portions is a little annoying to me, I was still hungry after my 6 ravioli but the bf was quite full from his meal so if we went back I would want to split and app and dessert and he probably wouldn’t. But the flavors were really good and that’s important. A couple should plan on walking out spending no less than $ 80 here unless they are light eaters and that’s with no alcohol. With a little lower price point I’d give more stars but sadly 3.5 isn’t an option.

I hate to be unkind but the food was just not good and the prices were exorbitant… especially for a restaurant that is attached to the Embassy Suites. The wine prices were extremely high and I could not believe the mark ups. A bottle of merlot that I can buy at the store for $ 17 – 19 was in the high $ 30s. And the meatball was not even slightly appetizing(I had been craving one all week and left still craving one as the one here remained mostly untouched). Our waiter was extremely sweet but when I leave a restaurant with a $ 120 bill for two people, I expect to have at least something nice to say about the experience… other than our waiter.

I ordered delivery while I was staying at the Hampton Inn. I ordered the toasted ravioli and the Mr. Willis Chili Mac. The ravioli were definitely not freshly made and are frozen. The chili mac was a bunch of dried noodles, no cheese and piled on top was a dry crumbled meat mixture with a couple of red peppers. It was not tasty at all, and i could not eat it. Based on what I experienced, I would NOT recommend this restaurant.

They deliver! Awesome! If you’re in the need of delivery and don’t want typical pizza or the like, this is a great option. Super fast, too. We had our dinner in about 30 minutes on a Saturday night. What I don’t like is that their menu leaves off a lot of detail. You wouldn’t know that the«penne with braised pork — Crusted w./ Fresh Mozzarella & Fresh Basil»(description from the menu) would come loaded with peppers. I hate peppers. HATE them. It should have been noted on the menu. Couldn’t eat it. Thank goodness we also ordered the Brie w/pesto, because it was delicious and I made it my dinner. I’ll order from them again, but I will definitely make sure I know what I’m getting.

First time and it was amazing. I went with my husband for an early Valentine meal. I agree with another reviewer that packaged breadsticks and butter are an odd choice for the table. I ordered the veal piccata and asked for a substitute of chicken. They were very happy to substitute. It was so cooked to perfection with a portion size big enough for me to have leftovers for lunch. My husband had the blackened lasagne and raved about it. The only minor complaint I had was it took forever and the 3 tiny breadsticks with butter lasted all of 5 minutes. I was shocked to get the garlic bread, that was no big deal. I will go again for the picante but will make sure I am not starving when I go.

I thought the meal tasted good. Reasonably priced. Strange starter of packaged thin breadsticks w/butter. Seems like they should serve w olive oil instead. Really enjoyed the Mary salad of iceburg, tomato and Gorgonzola. the dressing was a light oil and vinegar that was really nice. Half order of Elfo shrimp pasta was swimming in garlic butter sauce, but it tasted great. Meal came w old school garlic bread. Service was fine atmosphere nice lighting. If I wasn’t on a diet I’d eat here again.

I had never been here before I started working at a nearby business. The ambiance is a bit cheeky, but not anything I wouldn’t expect from an Americanized Italian restaurant. The food, while nothing extraordinary, is still delicious. I’d say it is exactly what you would expect. I have become a regular connoisseur of their grilled chicken caesar salad, and I wish I had done it sooner. While I expect that the dressing isn’t made from scratch, it’s some of the most delicious Caesar dressing I’ve ever had. The staff here are all very friendly. From the host to the bartender, everyone genuinely cares if you’re enjoying yourself and your meal. While not the jawdropping deliciousness you may be hoping for, it’s definitely delicious and well worth the visit.

Service is friendly and helpful. Food is consistently good. We have been eating here for years and have never had bad experience. Even though it is inside a hotel, the restaurant does not feel like it. They have a nice children’s menu that includes desert at a very reasonable price.
