What a joy. We started with a dozen raw oysters that were great. I had the sushimi. Not the best I’ve ever had but the best I’ve had in a long time. My wife had tempura that she shared I loved it. The place was packed but we were seated in 10 minutes. Service was everything we could have asked for, present but not hovering. I’ll be back.

Visited this week for lunch. My first thought as I walked through the door was that it looked like a lot of money went into the décor — pretty fancy for a strip mall bay. While waiting for my food I couldn’t help but hope as much money was going into the quality of the food. Service was slower than what I am used to, but the staff(and owner) were attentive during the wait and the food turned out to be very good. I had the Sushi Combination Lunch for $ 10. The meal consisted of a California roll and several pieces of Nigiri, along with a salad and basic fried rice. The food was fresh, flavorful and plentiful — easily as good as what I’ve experienced in other interior cities. Can’t wait to try dinner.

I’m not a real huge fan of their sushi selection but it will do. I do however like the fried lobster claws. I also like the lunch bento box with salmon, their shrimp fried rice, salad dressing and my entrée of the night, teriyaki salmon. I also had the shrimp tempura roll its nothing like crunchy shrimp, which they don’t carry, but it’s a decent substitute. This is a nice find in the heart of Cordova. especially if you live near Trinity and don’t want to fight the traffic going towards Wolfchase. The ambiance is nice. Suitable for family, girls night out or a date night.

My wife and I stopped here for an impromptu late lunch this past Saturday while we were in the area. It was our first time here, and I was happy we went. The sushi selection was very good, and the quality of the rolls were excellent. We started out with a half dozen of the Cajun oysters — the flavor was very good, but they were not the most impressive oysters — in their defense, it is November. For the main course, we got both the Amazing Roll and the Rainbow roll, along with soups and salads. The Amazing Roll lived up to its name, and I would definitely order it again. The Rainbow roll was very good, but came in second. The ambiance was nice and fit the trendy Asian cuisine vibe, but since we were there on off-hours, I can’t say how things would be on peak times like a date night when it comes to atmosphere. My primary criticism was that the meal was a bit pricy for a lunch — the prices for the rolls we ordered weren’t on the menu(it just has names and descriptions), and I just didn’t expect them to be $ 13+ each. It was a reasonable cost for a date meal, just plan on spending $ 25 each with no liquor. Parking access/traffic in that stretch of G-town parkway makes me want to avoid the area in the future, so I wouldn’t make a special trip out there again. The food was a little better than what I can get in Bartlett, but with the cost and traffic frustration, it’s not worth going unless I’m already in the area.

Wow, what a great place to eat and to think I have driving by it for how long??? Let me star by saying we are really picky when it comes to Sushi. Friday Tuna is right up there with the best of Memphis. Price is right, service is great and the place has a comfortable atmosphere. Really like the verity of the menu, so hard to choose. Well looks like I will just have to come back, lol

The portions are really large here and that’s a good thing. But the ingredients lack freshness.

I really hoped I’d find a hidden gem in the middle of Cordova. Unfortunately, I did not. I took my daughter and we met two friends for dinner at 6:15 on a Tuesday night. Everything took SO long! First we had to guess where to go to be seated, because there is no obvious spot for that(such as a podeum filled with menus and a seating chart). Then, we waited quite a while after getting our drinks to get to order food. The sushi I had was fine, the seaweed salad was great– not too sweet and not overdressed as it comes everywhere else. The sashimi portion was quite small, relative to Sakura or Sekisui’s portion size. All in all, this restaurant is «fine». I’d like to see the bathroom sink repaired, and a little more spunk in the step of the staff. The vibe was not urgent or grateful enough for me!

Best sushi in memphis. We had the lobster king roll and the Las Vegas roll. Delicious. Every sushi roll we get is great. Really like the food. The steak and shrimp hibachi is good too. We try to go once a week. Love the ginger dressing on the salad.

Wow what a nice surprise with fancy décor and stellar service! The sushi tasted very fresh and the rolls are huge! The tempura is a must try it’s the crispiest and lightest I’ve ever had! I recommend the chicken and veggie tempura. I did think the nigiri was over priced for the serving but it was very fresh and tasty. This would be the perfect spot with company as the hibachi side was a fun show to watch!

My husband came here for a business lunch and had sushi. He enjoyed his meal and was excited to bring us back for the hibachi. The interior is very luxe — much nicer than, say, Shogun. That’s about where my compliments end. Hibachi overall experience was very lackluster. Salad — blech. Dressing was a sweet mayo. The lady sitting next to me heard me say it just tasted like mayonnaise and she concurred. Nobody at our table ate their salad. The soup was fine. We ordered the crab cake appetizer and it was interesting… had that same sweet mayo sauce, only they added a touch of sriracha. The dipping sauce they give you for seafood was also that same sweet mayo sauce. They love the mayo, here, people. Our cook ambled through the motions. His«egg roll» trick failed and his volcano onion toppled over. My diver scallops were cut in half, I guess to make them go farther. It also makes them dry out quicker. Shrimp were also overcooked and rubbery. Sea bass was fishy. I’d come back to try the sushi and the oysters. I’d pass on ever eating the hibachi again. Ever.

So yesterday I placed an order by phone at Friday Tuna. I called in an Aryanu Roll and chili roll. He messed up the chili roll order and made another roll. It was absolutely not a problem for me given that he was not a native English speaker. I proceeded to tip him $ 3 from a $ 30 to go order. Then I had to wait 10 additional minutes for hem to correct my order. They didn’t tell me thank you or apologize about my wait/mess up.(They also didn’t include the mess up order). The only reason I am giving them three stars is because the food was amazing.

I don’t think the food was bad. We had the las vegas roll and cordova roll which me and my bf lovee. We also had the tuna tataki and bang bang chicken. I was dissapointed with the bang bang chix since it was not as good as expected. I think pandex makes a better chix than that. The tuna tataki was okay but my bf loved it since he never had tatakis before. Service was great. We had no problem with it. It was fast and friendly. The only problem was just that there was some kind of weird smell in the restaurant when I came in that really threw me off.

Brought the family in on a Tuesday for dinner. Service was friendly and prompt. Seating was quick and the hibachi chef was out fairly quick. Hibachi chef was great and awesome with the kids. He didn’t ignore them when they spoke to him(which the kids usually get ignored or bushed off with other places).Waitress was very attentive and on point! Sushi and sashimi we ordered was great and best quality I’ve had in the Memphis area yet. Overall: Enjoyable experience with fair prices. Not disappointed in any way with my visit.

This isn’t my favorite sushi/asian place, but their lunch special is pretty good and is a good value. I had a 2 sushi roll special with some green tea ice cream. A nice portion for both entrée and dessert. I did not particularly care for the shrimp tempura roll, the grease it was fried in had a taste to it I didn’t like. Service is so so. I will be going back.

Friday Tuna is a nice addition for the sushi lover crowd in the Memphis/Cordova area. I had a chance to dine here last night and was pleasantly surprised at the specialty rolls and menu. This venue has a nice touch of sushi, hibachi, and asian cuisine with a nice wine selection. The restaurant was very clean and spacious and the service is excellent. If you are looking for a nice sushi restaurant with a good wine selection, this is your place.

I have visited this location twice. The 1st time was for Happy Hour, which I wouldn’t recommend… They service wasn’t great and the bartender didn’t even know what the specials were and when they figured it out, it wasn’t great. I also visited on a Tuesday, when there is a good teppanyaki special for pretty cheap. The food and cook was amazing.

Stopped in after church for lunch — church bulletin had a coupon for 15% off food. The spring rolls and dumplings are good and freshly made. Salads were fresh as well. The lunch plates come with a variety of interesting items. They have happy hour starting at 4:00 pm. Wine selection is decent. Service was good and the servers were attentive. My wife loves the atmosphere and the relaxing music. We will be back.
