This is my favorite liquor store. The prices are way cheaper than other places and I like the 10% off wine Mondays for the ladies. The staff is always helpful and friendly. The store is bigger than most around this area, plus they always have specials on wines and liquor. Parking is small but there is always parking space, except sometimes a day before a holiday.

I am a big fan of this adult beverage establishment for many reasons, most especially because it’s in my neighborhood and I like to support places in my neighborhood. But there are other reasons to shop at Gaslight, most notably the (1) good prices on good bottles of wine and (2) excellent customer service.
On the wines: you will not believe it until you see it. Sure, this place is a liquor store on Summer Avenue, but for many, Summer Avenue is the true Poplar Avenue of Memphis. Don’t sell it short because it’s not in a high rent zone. This place carries an excellent variety of quality California wines, especially some serious upper level Napa cabs. It’s also got a very nice selection of French wines, and about 6 coolers filled with already chilled whites if you need to grab and go to a dinner party or need a cold drink in minutes.
On the service: ask and you shall receive. Ask about good wines and they will give you their personal opinions with explanations. No snobbery and no pushing toward expensive wines.
It’s also filled with every liquor imaginable and lottery tickets, too, if that’s your thing.
Four stars. If they can beef up their selection of wines from other regions, they will have star number 5.

NOT what I expected on Summer Avenue!
When I walked in I was in a state of shock. This is a really nice store! And big! I don’t mean to be snotty about Summer Avenue (heck, my dry cleaner, favorite restaurant, shoe repair guy, and vet are all on this street) but when you think liquor store on Summer Ave… spacious, clean, friendly staff with a large selection and reasonably priced are not the first thoughts you have!
Oh, and the staff really could not be nicer. The guy behind the counter personally walked me over to the vodka section and answered every question I had (I was looking for a new brand). (My biggest pet peeve is when they just point to a section.)
Anyways, I really like Buster’s, but this is super close to my house, doesn’t have the parking nightmare, and I think it might be a little cheaper.

Love love love this joint. Let’s be honest I love my Vodka like a Soviet soldier during the cold War and I could go anywhere to get it. But I choose Gaslight every time. Number 1 the people at the front check out are extremely kind and always good for a laugh. Also the selection is almost as good as Busters and you don’t have to deal with the 157 employees that are standing around doing nothing. Oh one more thing… Busters smells like Subway. Don’t get me wrong i love a 5 dollar footlong as much as the rest of us but not the smell it leaves on your clothes. Again, Gaslight has great service, great prices, and a good selection.

Awesome selection in this family owned and operated liquor store. Remodeled and expanded a few years back so I have no reason to go to Busters. Good selection of Italian and Chilean reds and all at reasonable prices.

This is one of the two or three wine stores I frequent most. It’s conveniently located for me, which is a big reason, but additionally, I really like the selection of wines they offer. They stock all of my favorites at competitive prices, plus they’re always getting in new stuff to try.
The employees are really nice and have a decent knowledge of wine and are great at making suggestions. Oh, and as a nice bonus — Monday is Ladies Day and all women get 10 percent off wine purchases. Nice.

This is a surprisingly nice liquor and wine store with a larger selection.
I write ‘surprisingly’, because it looks smaller from the outside. The interior is immaculate, with everything priced and organized neatly.
I was able to find a very good selection of wine and a huge selection of liquors. Kind of nice — they have a good selection of smaller bottles if you don’t want to spend the bucks.
Nearly every flavored liquor that you can think of, you’ll find, and I was able to find a hard-​to-​find favorite wine, Five Rivers (try it if you haven’t), which I normally can only find in Arlington.
