THISISTHECOOLESTTHING I HAVEEVERDONEINMEMPHISAND I WANTTOGOATLEASTONCE A WEEK!!! Tips: 1. Wear gloves 2. Wear removable layers(it gets hot up there) 3. If you’re scared of heights(40 feet off the ground), this is not for you(two ladies in my group didn’t make it past the first course and they spent $ 70 each… I’d be mad at myself) 4. You are connecting yourself to the lines, so if you aren’t comfortable literally putting your life into your own hands, might want to skip this adventure 5. The course can take anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours I cannot emphasize enough how much fun this was and I mean it when I say I want to go at least once a week… I won’t, because I don’t have the time or money to do that, but I can’t believe how many Memphians don’t know that we have this fun tree top adventure in our city! SEE, there are things to do here! ;)

What an adventure! Our course time was at 11 and we finished at 1:30 and we were«booking it» through the course! I like to think I’m athletic and parts of course we’re hard for me. Overall a blast and will do again! The instructors were very knowledgable and made my group feel comfortable with the«high risk» activity.

The Go Ape Treetop Adventure Course at the Woodland Discovery Playground at Shelby Farms is a thrill seeker’s paradise! It’s the first Go Ape course in Tennessee. The zip-line, obstacle course and canopy tour hangs around and above the park’s Pine Lake nearly FIVESTORIESHIGH. The six courses include rope ladders, 41 crossings, 2 Tarzan swings, and 6 zip lines(5 over Pine Lake). For $ 57, you can walk among the tree tops on a three and a half-hour tour. When you arrive, you fill out some paperwork saying that you assume the risk that you’re about to take. You get a safety instructor who harnesses you and walks you through the rules of the course. You start with a run-through — feet on the ground — and before you go on any father, you’re reminded again that you are about to take part in a «high-risk activity.» LOL. Yikes! Course 1 is like a practice before you hit the big zip line over the lake. Course 1 is a few feet off the ground and gives you a taste of what’s to come. A mini zip-line. On Course 2, you climb a ladder to the top of the trees. Once you make this climb, there’s pretty much no going back. The climb continues through more obstacles to the big zip line that’s 450-feet long! The most intense obstacle for me was that small zip line that takes you to a rope wall that you climb to the next obstacle. You feel like there’s almost nothing between you and the sky. The actual zip-line over the lake is SOAMAZING! I felt like I was FLYING! So exhilarating! This activity is a must, if you like physical activity and wind in your hair. The courses continue as you zig zag over the lake. Course 2 is perhaps the most challenging. Be sure to wear comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty, drink plenty of water and have fun! Requirements from Go Ape: Minimum age: 10 years old Minimum height: 4ft 7in(55 inches) Maximum weight: 285 lbs(subject to harness fit) Supervision: One participating adult(18+) is required to supervise up to two 10 – 15 year olds. 16 – 17 year olds do not require a supervising adult, but do require a waiver signed by their legal guardian or an adult(18+) who has obtained permission from the 16 – 17 year olds legal guardian.
