Very helpful staff! Brain has been a great help setting up my rifle and builds for me. Jason is a great guy and has always helped me out when I’ve been in there. Any complaints about guns and ammo ignore. They have to deal with a lot of unsavory people

Definitely well known around town as «Guns & Assholes.» Bear in mind that you might become an asshole too if you had to deal with as many customers as they do. 90% of their sales staff lack personality. It’s like «handjob on your honeymoon» ridiculous sometimes. They are dicks & definitely pick & choose who gets helped first. That’s just the mentality they’ve grown after tending to Memphians for decades. Their attitude might be justified, I can’t say? That being said, they have hundreds, maybe thousands of guns. Modern black guns to lever guns, high end to low end. Excellent supply of ammo, optics, & accessories. Typically, their prices are very competitive if not out right cheap. They stay in business because of price & selection. I’ve purchased 6 – 7 firearms from here. I had ups & downs with each purchase, but will continue to go here.

It’s a well-​known fact (at least at work… is it the targets?) that I’m a gun nut, and so, fittingly, this is one of my favorite stores in Memphis. Don’t get turned off by the slightly run-​down look — the store is packed to the gills with every kind of firearm you can imagine, as well as ammo, accessories, and more. I’ve never had a problem with quality, but be aware, the return policy is, in their words, «There is no return policy.»
The boyfriend and I have been wandering in here on a regular basis for about a year now, so we are considered regulars by the motley crew of old guys that work there. Again, don’t get intimidated — they might look like crusty old farts, but they know their guns, and they’re happy to give you as much time as you need to ask questions and handle the merchandise. That being said, don’t get upset when you have to wait while they take that time with the customers in front of you. They WILL help you, it just might be a few minutes.
I’ve bought two guns here, and they are impressively thorough about safety and paperwork. All guns and knives are kept in locked cases, accessible only by employees behind the counter. All guns are checked and cleared before being handed to a customer to examine. When buying a gun, one person checks your ID and background check form, another rings you up, and yet a third checks your paperwork and ID again upon return of the background check and actual handing over of the purchase.
What I really appreciate about Guns & Ammo is the opportunity to handle merchandise before purchase. They are running a bit short right now (due to recent events), but they’re usually well-​stocked with everything from .22’s to shotguns. This is an awesome store!
