Just tried this gem for the first time. DELICIOUS! After trying the other Ethiopian places in Memphis I can easily say this one is the BEST. the owner(Senu) was a gracious host. She even brought us seconds of the items we finished first. $ 10 for lunch and a heavy to go box is a great deal. I’m so glad my office is just down the street so I can frequent this place more often. All I can think is «what took me so long?»

I found this restaurant yesterday and decided to try it for lunch. I went back again today! The food is absolutely delicious and very authentic! This restaurant is definitely worth making a special trip just to eat here!

So me and my wife were looking for something different to eat. We found it. Walked into this place and it was empty. Got handed menus and were asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for unsweet tea and had to settle for a bottle of Nestea. Asked for some water and got a bottle of water, no biggie. The menu barely makes sense. Me and my wife both ordered and the server kept trying to change the order. Seemed like she didn’t think we were going to like what we ordered. I told her make it how they normally would and don’t change anything. The food was delicious. It came on a plate covered with a piece if injera(Ethiopian flat bread) it had a small portion of lentils and a small portion of squash cabbage potato?, something like that. The entrée came in a separate dish and is scooped onto the injera. You get more injera to use as silverware. You use your hands. Me and my wife really enjoyed our meal and I’ll definitely be going back. The service could be better, the menu could be better, but the food probably could not.

Never has Ethiopian food before so we thought we would give it a try. Oddly the place was empty at lunch time. That worried us a little, but it turns out that there was nothing to be worried about. The food was cooked fresh and tasted excellent. If you have never eaten this type of food before, you don’t get utensils. You get rolls of flat bread and you tear off pieces and use the bread to pick up your food. It was different and fun. This place should not be empty at lunch time or any other time. I recommend giving it a try. The beef was excellent and the lamb was excellent and the sides were delicious.

I have the pleasure to dine at habeesha Ethiopian restaurant today it was an amazing experience the food was great, atmosphere was great with the cultural Ethiopian music. The two sisters Senaite and Azeb make me feel I am at home. The freshly cooked Tibs came with steamed collier green and Curry split pea(kieke alicha) was the best I ever had. To top it on with Ethiopian sweet hot tea was the experience I can not forget. Habeesha. Ethiopian restaurant you Rook
