This place was recommended by a friend to us yesterday. My buddy and I are visiting from California. Wanted to try some Memphis style BBQ. Well, my buddy Mike hit it out of the park with this place. Outstanding BBQ. Rib tips, pull Pork, ribs, BBQ beans, coleslaw were amazing. Our waitress was a sweetheart as well. I’ll return ASAP. Thank you guys for an awesome experience.

Asked for a simple BBQ sandwich. Got an old peace of bread buried under flavorless brisket. Just hold the hunger until you can get anywhere else.

I remember a decade ago before Delta bought out Northwest and turned this airport into a ghost town, this spot used to be hopping. There was always a wait here. In fact, people were thrilled to get a decent layover here, just so they could eat at Interstate. Now, and for at least the last five years, I can walk up, sit down and pick almost any table I want. It’s sad. Meanwhile, this is likely some of the best BBQ you’ll find in an airport on the planet. And, one of the few places where the food tastes the same in the airport as it does in non-airport locations. A stop here ensures you won’t complain about airport food, for a change. The sweet tea is as sweet as the girls working(they are usually characters) and the pecan pie isn’t bought from a distributor. When in the airport this is a must-eat spot. The ribs, pork, etc, deliver true Memphis BBQ within the confines of the concourses and tempt you to come visit with fair, below averages prices for airport food. If you’re in this airport with time to spare, this is where you need to eat.

I was really looking forward to eating at this establishment as my last chance to grab another BBQ meal before departing Memphis. I grew addicted to ribs over the weekend spent in Memphis. You were closed when your website said you’d be open. Shame on you!!!

I was passing through and decided to stop for some BBQ. I got there before they opened but they were nice enough to let me in early. I got their chopped pork and rib tips dinner which came with beans and cole slaw. I also tried their BBQ spaghetti. It was the first time I’ve tried the dish and it wasn’t too bad. All of the BBQ was delish! I would go back if I passed through again.

Had some disappointing BBQ the first day we got to Tennessee… this place righted that wrong. Had the big bbq pork with a side of onion rings… why the hell not? I was on vacation! The pork melted in my mouth… the sauce was amazing… the rings were oniony… I love oniony… wish I had one of these in Tucson…

Disgusting. Avoid at all costs. Or just walk by and avoid for free.

For an airport is good, but compared to their real location it’s horrible. For the brisket sandwich with coleslaw. It just didn’t have the best flavor I was craving. I wish I got some sides going that would have enhanced the meal.

As good as it gets, in an airport. After being stripped of all dignity by the TSA, put your shoes back on, but skip the belt and head to Interstate. I am dense, didn’t realize you could get to any gate in Memphis after going through security so you are not limited to that bag of pretzels from the git shop near your gate. Until Cozy Corner opens an airport location, this is my spot in MEM. It is small, about a dozen little tables and a few seats at a bar. Service was«gotta catch a flight» fast and the food was nearly as good as their main location(something about the atmosphere affects the taste). I had a half portion of pork ribs with beans and slaw. They were cooked to perfection. You will have a «picnic» sensation as the plates and utensils are all disposable, maybe there’s no room for a dishwasher back there! Hope for a delayed flight!

Not bad place to get some BBQ. I got the pulled pork sandwich, and the good part was the meat was super tender and just melts in your mount. But bad part was the meat wasn’t that flavorful, and the BBQ sauce was just so-so to me. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it wasn’t anything memorable.

Stopping off in Memphis from New York connecting to Los Angeles, I was walking down the hall and all I could smell was BBQ. I didn’t eat anything on the plane besides peanuts. I had to follow the smell. Which lead me to Interstate Bar-B-Que, after looking over their menu. I picked the Large Chopped Shoulder Bar-B-Q Sandwich. Man the pork was juicy and tender with the extra BBQ sauce they give you just made the sandwich even better to make the sauce just drip on all the sides. If I didn’t have to board I would have ate two more, they were so good. Now that I’m writing this I may just fly out to Memphis and hit up their top BBQ joints. If you are around their and have time Stop by…

We visited the Southaven location after reading the reviews. We are not from here so I am offering the out of town visitor perspective. The atmosphere is plain and uninspired as described by others but it did appear clean which is more important to me. The food was disappointing as far as I and my husband were concerned. It was not bad but it was not so good that we would want to have it again. If I lived here I wouldn’t eat there. I ordered the sliced beef dinner with beans and slaw. The slaw was OK I don’t have specific complaints other than it was average compared to others I have had. The beans were pretty good, nice thick sauce with little bits of meat, overall flavor was good. The sauce I found a bit spicy for my taste but not actually hot. I prefer a sweet sauce myself and was hoping to find just that in Memphis, I haven’t yet. I was disappointed that there was only one sauce available. My favorite Bar B Que restaurant in Oklahoma offers two types that you add yourself as much as you want. This place puts in on for you and you have to pay extra if you want more sauce. The beef I ordered appeared more pulled than sliced. It was long and string like the way I would want with roast beef not brisket. It was lean and it was reasonably tender but I could barely cut it into manageable pieces with the butter knife I was provided. The bread that came with the meal was sliced store bought white bread. My husbands meal was the sampler platter. He also liked the beans pretty well and didn’t object to the slaw. However, he said of the variety of meats on his plate the best was unquestionably the pork ribs. He said they were pretty good. He also had beef ribs on his plate. His opinion of those was they were so dry and tough that they must have been cooked the day before and reheated, practically inedible. He said all of the meat on his plate was very dry even the sausage. His statement was if he HAD to eat here again he would order pork ribs only. We both felt that there was no doubt that the food was prepared considerably earlier and reheated to be served at this location. Next time we chose a barbeque place we will check out back for an actual smoker to make sure the food is actually being cooked fresh and on site. I chose this place because I thought I recognized the name from TV and the reviews on Unilocal. We were unfortunately not as impressed as some people have been.

Stopped in for breakfast on a layover to Las Vegas. Couldn’t get service and finally went to the take out window then sat in their dining area. Food was average at best. Although I’m sure they have better luck with lunch and dinner, this experience will make me look for any other option if I’m stuck in the Memphis airport.
