This place is a little gem within Memphis’ Cooper Young District. While the store’s exclusive«Flax» clothing did not interest me, the jewelry and accessories did. The jewelry was all locally sourced and displayed in very unique ways. The piece I bought, for example, was displayed on a playing card. After asking the owner about it, she told me sales increased by almost 30% after simply changing from a normal piece of cardboard to display jewelry to a playing card. See people, marketing works!

I love this little shop. I stop in there whenever we are in Memphis. The women who run the place are always delightful and helpful, the clothing and accessories are great. I love Flax clothing it is so comfortable. It breathes in the summer so I don’t get so hot.

This tiny little shop(about 300 square feet) is owned and operated by two sisters who’s mission is to provide lovely, comfortable and natural clothing for women of all sizes. They are the exclusive sellers of a line called«Flax» in the Memphis area. Essentially this line of clothing consists of all natural yarn dyed fabrics — very light and breezy and loose fitting. And it’s not expensive. Most pieces cost anywhere from $ 30 to $ 80 or so per item. They also carry some accessories, such as bags and jewelry, most of which I understand are made locally.

Housed in an adorably small Southern home near Java Cabana, I think that this store would get five stars from any woman who is a fan of loose, linen-like clothing. I told my friend, ‘This is the kind of stuff that Dianne Wiest would wear in ‘The Lost Boys’.’ Translation — it’s for that artsy woman or woman who appreciates roomy comfort woven from natural fibers. Every piece, the majority of the clothing appeared to be ‘Flax’ brand — is dyed in a light color — blues, pinks, lavender, and nothing is restrictive. There are several pieces of moderately-priced chunky necklaces — like the ‘Roll Out The Barrel Polka’ necklace for $ 42 — and other jewelry to accompany the separates — mainly capri-length pants, and loose, short-sleeved tops. as well as a rack for of white camisoles. And for you Cooper Young fans — raises hand — you can pick up your ‘I heart CY’ t-shirts here — they have plenty in stock.
