I actually really like this Macy’s, and I think it has the best selection out of all the ones in Memphis. The bridal/home section is pretty large, but not the best. They have a better selection of 20s something clothing, and I always find good deals. The dressing rooms are kind of dingy, but whatever. They have the best selection of women’s shoes out of all the other Macy’s. They have a nice selection on handbags and I like their Sunglass Hut. Some of the make-up counters are pretty crowded and loud. From what I can tell, they have quite a few kids clothing downstairs, but they do not carry kids shoes. My favorite part: they are the only place around that carries Kate Spade jewelry and I love it! They even had a better selection than the Kate Spade store(even though the store is gone now). I will continue to go back to this Macy’s. I just try to avoid it after dark, or park in a lighted area.

The polo is my favorite place to go. Always have something to do at Macy’s. I like the sunglass hut too. All & all a good store to go to. Will be going back real soon.

This Macy’s has consistently gone more and more downhill. The selection used to be massive, but now it’s either junk or $ 100 for a shirt. I love the Starbucks but I miss the Lush counter.

Since shipping is so expensive, I decided to bite the bullet and bought something else that was a really good deal on sale and to pick it up at this Macy’s location. This time I went on a Monday morning to pick it up to see if it would be a much better experience and I am happy to say it was. There was no line and the sales associate was able to find my order quickly and I was in and out very fast. I also got a coupon to get a free coffee at their Starbucks again, like I did last time.

Customer service at this Macy’s location has completely deteriorated. I was in 3 different departments this afternoon, luggage, men’s clothing, and men’s fragrances, and it was deplorable. No one was willing to answer a single que shock to the point where I had to go check on a price myself and take a picture of it to show to the cashier who wouldn’t even walk across the store to check. I’m going to Dillard’s from now on, no question.

Great holiday deals during this era of retail wars. If tyou have the store credit card, you get good bargains. Don’t buy what you can’t afford! :)

I visited Macy’s to purchase a gift for a friend off of her wedding registry. Although the items did show in stock, the sales associate was unable to find them. She was very helpful and thoroughly looked through their in stock inventory. She ordered them for the couple and did not charge me the shipping fees. I greatly appreciate her help and the savings discount. Her name is Kathy and I will definitely attempt to do business with her in the future.

This place is a joke. NEVER order an item over the phone with these people. I never received my dresses and customer service never helped me. I’ve called over 10 times to see if they could track my package and the response was either«sorry let me look into it, I’ll call you back in 15 minutes» or «sorry I can’t track packages.» I never got a call back and now they are avoiding my calls. TERRIBLE customer service. This place is full of stupid workers that should be fired since they have NOIDEA what the hell they’re doing. How hard is it to track a package they sent me? Idiots. Sick of calling them and receiving no help at all. I’m leaving my complaints with a phone call to their corporate office.

Customer service is what anchors this Macy’s(formerly a Memphis department store, Goldsmith’s) firmly in place at the East Memphis Oak Court Mall location. With two small children and a busy schedule, driving all around town to shop is not on the agenda, but when Macy’s online sent me three(3) broken shipments of the new dishes I ordered, I had to get some face time in with someone who could help. I lugged my box of broken Corningware and Staxx dishware to the very Macy’s where I registered for my wedding back in 2004. A woman with short blonde hair(I want her name to be Susan but couldn’t say for certain) helped me by returning the broken Corningware dish that they did not have in stock, and returning the broken Staxx dishes and giving me a sale price on a replacement set, actually saving me money. Thank you, Macy’s, for remembering what department stores and real customer service are all about! P. S. Do not order anything fragile from Macy’ .

PD and I went yesterday. She was looking for a clothes steamer and I was along for the ride. I got interested in a new fancy toaster oven, a Breville 800XL. It was on sale at $ 249.99 down from Macy’s regular price of $ 359.99. I was reluctant to spend that kind of money so I just noted the model number and came home to do some more research. What I found out was interesting. A fair number of sites, including Amazon, had that toaster oven available and all of them were priced at $ 249.99 or a little bit less, but only a few dollars. I looked at the Breville site to get a better idea of the features. It was available for sale at the Breville site at THEREGULARPRICEOF $ 249.99. Also if you bought it at that price, you could get a $ 20 cookbook for free from Breville. Macy had inflated the price by $ 110, or more than 40%. Then they put it on sale for the regular price you could get it at from almost any other retailer. Isn’t that GODAWFUL? Must be an isolated case right? Nope. That clothes steamer PD was looking for? Rowenta IS1430, priced at $ 49.99 on the Rowenta site. At Macy’s the regular price is quoted as $ 79.99 and it was on sale for $ 49.99. Again, marked up by 40% over the normal retail price. And, by the way, Dillard’s did actually have it on sale at $ 39.99, down from their regular price of $ 49.99. So be aware that Macy’s inflates prices. I don’t know to what extent they do it or if it is for every single item in the store. Then they can afford to have great sales, all the time.

One of my first stops when I’m looking for something to wear. I think they have the best selection of all the Macy’s in Memphis. They have just about everything(except large appliances like Sears). Discounts are usually always in effect and if you have a Macy’s Credit Card, sometimes you can get an additional discount for using it.

If only for the fact that they house my personal favorites, M.A.C. and Lush, I have a soft spot in my non-chain-store loving heart for Macy’s. I’ve been to this location more times than I can count for M.A.C. and Lush products, and I’ve always left with a couple bags full of other Macy’s goodies. They have a phenomenal selection of designer shoes and bags(oh my!) and I don’t know a gal alive that doesn’t have a weak spot for those two things.(and if you meet a gal who says she doesn’t, she’s either a) lying or b) hasn’t been properly introduced to such items) I find that Macy’s is the perfect place to «window shop.» I love walking through here at a leisurely pace, imagining what it would be like to go buck wild on my Visa card and charge up every item my little heart desires. Purses, shoes, jewelry, cosmetics, perfumes, clothing and bed linens. Everything is high end here– and if you are lucky you can catch it all on sale. I’ve always had luck at this location with both sales and the staff. Most situations I’ve been in with staff at anything chain related is usually decent at best. I find that these people are paid hourly, and this is a job for them rather than a career. That usually reflects in the way you are treated as a customer. The staff I’ve encountered in every department of this Macy’s has been extremely educated on the products, friendly and helpful. It’s enough to keep me coming back, whether I’m just«window shopping» or actually purchasing.
