Worst BLT ever! On thin white bread — mayo, 1 piece of green lettuce, 2 paper thin slices of 2−½″ round tomato, then greasy CRUMPLED bacon. . Got as take out, took 2 bites and then it went right to the trash can. Who ever uses crumpled bacon on a BLT sandwich? How can you eat it without all the bacon falling off? Side of cole slaw was turning brown, so not about to touch that! Must of been days old. Tea was great!’ Staff was nice — but food SUCKED! You could get a much much better sandwich at any cafeteria anytime…

Pitiful. Just pitiful. We go once in a blue moon because it’s nearby and, on the rare occasion they get our order correct, it’s decent comfort food. The portions have gotten so small. Particular to this location, the service is so weak. They don’t pay attention when you’re ordering and clearly don’t make sure the order comes as asked for.

Do not use online ordering. It doesn’t work. I arrived at the time it said to and they didn’t even have a record of my order.

I just tried to eat here. I waited at the counter for 15 minutes(timed it), while 5 or 6 employees hung around behind the counter and in the dining area talking and playing on their phones, before I walked out. I was the only one in line when I got there and there were only a few guests eating in the restaurant but the line was completely ignored and had grown to about 10 people when I walked out.

Everything about my visit was disappointing. The store was not clean, staff was not friendly save the one girl who delivered my food. She was very polite. But the main thing is the food and it was dreadful. I ordered«The Italian» sandwich with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was wrong in every way. Produce was not fresh and the meats were dry and old tasting. The bread was barely a step above Wonder bread, a very plain white bread roll and not fresh. I left ¾ of my sandwich on the plate when I decided another bite was not worth it. The potato salad was average. At least I could eat it but you can get better potato salad at your local grocery. I ate at this McAlister’s once years ago and wasn’t impressed. Why I went back I don’t know but I will not do it again.

I love coming to this place because they always have the Choose 2 deal, which is 1 spud, soup, or sandwich, and 1 more of them. I usually get their spud max, paired with a chili soup and sweet tea. In addition, their atmosphere is pleasant. Music played today on the intercom is oldies, which I enjoy. If you every get a chance to try out his chain, don’t miss it.

I have been going to McAlister’s for a long time whether it be in Memphis, Oxford, or even Wyoming. This one is closest to our home so obviously we have been a few times since moving back South a year ago. Well, my wife and I made the executive decision that yesterday was our last visit. Of course the food is always fairly consistent, it is a chain. We just can’t go anymore because of the service. From inadequate portions, to incorrect orders, to eye rolling, and so on. It has gotten old and we are over it. Newks and Panera will continue to get our business. Sorry Poplar Plaza location, you aren’t up to par with your peers.

I enjoy the sandwiches and soups here. I think the prices are a little bit higher than I would like, but they’re okay. They are famous for their sweet tea.

My family and I usually go to lunch at McAlister’s in the Plaza on Saturdays. My favorite meal is the Spud Max and a half Muffuletta or a New Yorker sandwich. Others in the family can’t get enough of the Broccoli Cheddar soup and Savannah Chopped Salad. Of course none of us can do without the Sweet Tea. The staff at this restaurant have long been welcoming to everyone who walks through the door. If you want some good food in a friendly environment, you need to check out McAlister’s Deli in the Poplar Plaza. Oh, and when the temperature is right and the gentle breeze is blowing, don’t miss the chance to eat out on the patio.

Weve gone here 3 times and were never impressed. Not sure why people like this place. Staff was not friendly. Service was not good and food was bland and boring. We won’t be going back. While we were trying to read the menu behind the cashier/order taker she continuously let people cut in front of us. :-(

I LOVE this McAlister’s Deli! It’s open, bright, with lot’s of windows. I love this one in particular because they have the large square plates for the entrée salads and you don’t get lost in all the lettuce at the other locations that serve the salad in the large bowls. When you order the two for deal — and if you get a salad — they serve it in a small bowl… I love that… so contained, again unlike the other locations that serve the salad on the same plate along side your spud, sandwich, or soup. Now for the food… I always get the two for deal as I get two of my favorites, usually eating one and taking the other home for dinner(the portions are that ample). I love either the Savannah Chopped Salad or the Italian Chopped Salad, pairing it with the Pot Roast Spud(ample amount of pot roast smothered with gravy, and carrots-yum!). I’ve tried the Roast Beef Spud and the Spud Max and weren’t impressed with the amount of meat that came with it. I’m all about getting the best bang for my buck and at this McAlister’s, it never disappoints!

I came here nearly daily as a college student, and it’s good to see they’re still going strong. Their iced tea is really super! If you order a spud, be advised that they put 2 normal-sized potatoes together, resulting in a pretend gigantor potato, and then stick the toppings on it. It’s a lot of food! Their soups in a bread bowl are also notable, though I stopped getting the broccoli cheese when I found out it’s made with chicken stock. Sigh. Nowadays, I typically get their very nice veggie club sandwich and, of course, an iced tea. Love to come here to sit on the patio with my dog! The wait staff remembers me and comes by to say hi to the pup. Always friendly.

I really wanted to like this McAlister’s, because its so close to where I live and so close to downtown… but it just isn’t as good as the McAlisters out on Germantown Parkway. I’ve always ordered the club sandwich with a side of Mac n cheese. The mac n cheese is just so rubbery and fake tasting. It’s allright obviously for a chain establishment but there have been better mac n cheeses at other McAlister locations. This one is just ok, and if you’re absolutely craving mcalisters and are too lazy to drive out to another location, then I would say that this is an okay alternative. but don’t be in shock if your food isn’t the best.

I always go to the Poplar Plaza location because the servers are so friendly and quick(plus it is right by my house)! I love this place. I mostly get food to-go here, but every time I have eaten at the restaurant it has been a great experience too. I just like that I can get a full meal and bring it home without cooking myself… and yet somehow it feels like I cooked it myself? Their soups are a must-try and I am addicted to their potato cheddar. The bread bowl is the best thing I have ever had on a winter day. All of their paninis are great but their sandwiches are just straight up comfort food. Get a side of fruit. It is the perfect lunch or dinner!

Order a spud and ice tea(the best there is in the restaurant biz) and you will be delighted! Just make sure the spud is not overdone. Great soups, salads and sandwiches as well.

It’s a chain, but a good one. Their lemonade and tea are delicious, and their food is great. I seek these out for lunch when I am traveling in the area — the baked potatoes are ridiculously huge, and they have some good specials now if you want to try a couple different things. Plus, no tipping as they apparently pay a reasonable wage.

Great deli! Fresh sandwiches & soups. Best pastrami on rye and corn-beef sandwichs in town. ***The tortilla soup will restore your faith in the quality of ‘chain’ delis.*** Their ice tea is legendarily good and the lemonade is a blessing on a summer day.
