The drinks are good for Memphis but mediocre for anywhere else, and they’re overpriced. The small plates are decent. Our waitress was awesome and the highlight of the night. The security guard was extremely rude and demanded to card us multiple times even after we had a reservation and had already been checked and admitted to the lounge. Will not be back unless this demeanor changes

Went here a couple months ago. Really cool vibe in an old Victorian home off the beaten path. Friendly bartenders and great live music with some very talented artists taking turns.

My most favorite late night hangout spot in Memphis, the coolest bar in Memphis, the best truffle fries ever, There are so many ways I can describe this place. All of the descriptions just mean one thing: I love Mollie Fountain Lounge. Such an interesting décor, great drinks, and pretty cool crowd. Whats not to love about this place. I cant wait to try their food, the only thing I have ever had is the truffle fries and trust me, they are finger licking good!!!

This has to be the hippest most interesting bar in Memphis! Firstly, who doesn’t want to have a drink in a beautiful Victorian house… that may or may not be haunted? Such a neat space with great seating areas for lounging, drinking, gossiping, eating and of course dancing! The DJ is always on point and the crowd is amazing. I’ve only been here late night so never had a real meal but holy moly those truffle fries!!! Nothing beats them. Love this place and I hope I stay relatively cool enough to keep coming here :)

This is my favorite bar in Memphis! It has so much history and is always such a fun time anytime I go! Make sure to have Frenchie or Drew wait on you, their the best! First off they have food and it’s actually amazing food! Go for the kobe sliders and truffle fries. The sauce with the fries is sooooo good! Secondly, the drinks are always on point! They have a full bar upstairs and downstairs. If you get there early enough you can sit at the bar and people watch all night. I’m never disappointed in the drinks and always know I’m getting what I’m paying for. Finally, the ambiance of the whole place. Yes it’s an old mansion turned into a bar and sure it may be haunted. That’s enough to peak your interest right? There also isn’t a formal table and chairs in the place. It’s filled with lush couches and chairs and the most amazing lighting. It’s truly a very neat experience! Occasionally they have DJ’s upstairs too that rock the night away with their cool tunes.

I don’t do haunted houses. Nope. Not at all. Not the kid. I had my fill of them during my time living in New Orleans and I’m very okay with that being in the past. The problem here, however, is that I *do* do cocktails. And, fancy seating. And mansions. Ergo, you see my dilemma. The scales were tipped, though, when I discovered that I could drink and someone else would pay. I’ll deal with the ghostbusting for some free beverages. What can I say? It’s a tough economy. From the time we rolled up to Mollie Fontaine’s, I was impressed. This reminded me of something I would have run from in New Orleans. Perhaps this is the Memphis that only natives know. In any event, I was interested(once tempted with free drinks) to go in and check it out. This is the real deal: old mansion. Creepy pictures. The kind of place horny teens go to die. I knew that a.) I had to come here with a bunch of other people(whom I could throw to the monster as I ran for my life) and b.) I couldn’t be the drunkest person in the room(so I could throw others to the monster as I ran for my life). I knew the rules and was ready to drink. I thought. Rather than staying downstairs, we made our way to the second floor. Was it a sitting room? Was it a parlour? I have no idea. All I knew was that I was sitting in a fancy room with mood lighting and made a bee line to the chaise lounge. I started the evening with a Pretty In Pink. I figured when in Rome… And, since I was planning a trip to Italy, why not have a few other Pretty in Pinks. Now I definitely wasn’t afraid of no ghosts. Realizing I’d broken rule b., I opted to get some food in my belly. I chose the fish club. For $ 9, I got a fancy sandwich of dish(duh), avocado, greens, tomato, bacon, onion, and preserves on brioche. Fitting for the place. The brioche, however, made me a bit thirsty, so I ended the meal with a Nouveau Riche cocktail. Actually, I ended the meal with that. I ended the evening with another Nouveau Riche. I’d failed rule b. I’d made myself a sitting duck. But, chillaxing on the chaise and barking orders to people felt so natural, so right. Perhaps the spirits would leave me be and let me amuse them? I’m writing this review so the house didn’t claim me. My picture’s not on the wall circa 1920 and I didn’t freeze to death in the woods chasing a child while wielding an axe. It’s all good. I make no promises for you, though.

Ok so I had the Truffle Fries, and ‘outstanding’ is pushing the limits. Maybe it just depends on what you consider ‘outstanding’. I went, sat, ate some fries and drank a beer. The layout of the place is strange and leaves people standing around awkwardly. No high tables either so you’re just standing there with your wet drink in your hand. I was generally super bored with this place. Maybe if you brought some people with you and created a party it’d be good. But like honestly, where would you all go? The place is so tiny. Idk. Part of me thinks you would need to be drunk to enjoy it. I won’t be back.

I love Mollie’s. The laid back lounge atmosphere in a Victorian era home cannot be beat. Add some delicious cocktails and tasty snacks and you have a winner. Friends of mine hosted a small wedding reception in one of the upstairs sections/rooms a couple of years ago and to date it was one of my favorite events.

Very cool and different type lounge/bar. Not what I expected at all! We kicked off LV’s bachelorette here and it was perfect. Semi-private room, comfortable seating, amazing food, great service, wonderful ambiance. It felt like we were hanging out at home in our living room instead of at a restaurant. We ordered almost everything on the menu. Tons of small plates/tapas to share. The curry mussels were a hit — the sauce was thick and spicy. We dipped everything we could into it. The music was awesome. Good eclectic mix and lots of 80’s. The downstairs area was poppin when we left — people hanging out at the bar and small groups seated on the couches. The outside garden area is also a nice place to hang out. More quiet and lit up by glowing lanterns. It is a smoking establishment. The group next to us started lighting up pretty frequently near the end of our visit. Maybe they could split up the smoking and non smoking groups in different rooms for dining?

I hosted a dear friend’s birthday party here and glad I got there early because the place gets packed real quick! We were upstairs in the room to the front right of the bulding — the charm of this place is amazing. Old victorian home that is furnished with victorian furniture pieces. I just LOVE that error of décor! The food is really good, we all ordered various items and shared. the Mac and Cheese was amazing along with the fries and Brioche. *The only negative for me was having to eat food out of hand and lap becuase the set up is like eating in your living room. Due to the large crowds bar service was a little slow and the room we were oin got crowded wtih people standing over our shoulders waiting for us to move out so they could sit down. So we wrapped up our stay sooner than later due to this. I wish they were open earlier in the day because it would be much more enjoyable to go without large drinking crowds.

Who wouldn’t love to get a little tipsy in an old haunted brothel? Yeah, you can count my on the«I’m first in line for that gig». That is what you get at Mollie Fontaine’s. It is a stunning venue with a load of history. Just in for drinks and a pre dinner snack? Grab some truffle fries. Challenge the bartender a bit, he needs a little work on the perfect martini(or else we would have 5 stars) but otherwise it is a cool place. I will knock it on smoking — not because you can smoke — but because you can’t smoke a cigar. That is exactly what Mollie Fontaine needs to do — and maybe get some strong furniture…

Open from 5pm till the spirits go to sleep. –Magic words to an ol’ night owl like myself. How’ve I not reviewed Mollie Fontaine’s…great place to come grab a drink late night. The place is really a 3 story Victorian home. Each level has small sitting areas for patrons to post up and chat(love the piano area). If you’re like me, you roam more than you post. The sitting areas are not the largest, and though the seats are comfortable, if it is crowded(which it most certainly can be), you might have to post up, standing; don’t be deterred by that, or rumors of Mollie’s ghost; you won’t be standing alone. Would I return? Yes.

This is by far one of the coolest bars in the South. I only had the opportunity to go once while visiting Memphis, and I will be making it a point to make the 3 hour drive back again just to come here. They kept the original architecture of the house intact, and it’s cozy and just feels so rich with history. There is a bar upstairs and downstairs with all sorts of specialty cocktails the bartenders invented, and they are very tasty! I love the furniture and ambience here. Definitely go if you’re searching for the best bar in Memphis!

Absolutely one of the most adorable character filled spots in Memphis! Mollie Fontaine’s is situated in an old house which is adorned with oversized chairs, brightly colored curtains and thought provoking art. It’s sure to make anyone feel more refined and hipster than one really is. Every time I go, I find myself adoring the décor rather than focusing on those I’m with(blush). The service is outstanding. Every time I’ve been here the service staff have been very personable and matched the chattiness of my group. I don’t assume people come here just for the food… but they should. The sliders are my favorite, but the mac and cheese(bacon on top!) and truffle fries are also outstanding! It’s small plate style so order a few and share with friends. The cocktails are my favorite here. They make me feel as fancy as the décor does! They have some unique mixes I’ve not seen anywhere else, but the bar staff is also very capable of making a typical cocktail or blending you up something based on what flavors you normally enjoy. They also feature a happy hour which is $ 1 off everything. Often times the place if fairly empty during this time so it’s a nice time to enjoy the space and listen to some mood music while sipping cocktails. They also often have live music or a dj later at night. The prices are a little higher here than some Memphis spots, but considering the uniqueness and quality, I think it’s worth it. Oh, and they also have wi-fi!

Miss Mollie still makes me all giggly inside when I come. It is hands down my favorite bar in Memphis. The dark/seductive/sensual décor of an old Victorian mansion is downright sexy with some sexy people roaming the 3 floors. I love listening to their piano player who is usually nestled in the foyer of the bottom floor. It is chill. The people are chill. Nothing about this place disappoints. Similar to my last review, nothing really has changed. Everything I said in the previous review still applies. The only difference between my many other experiences here versus this visit is that I actually tried food from their late night menu. My friend David and I ordered some sliders and their rendition of mac and cheese. The sliders were standard and the mac and cheese wasn’t amazing. It was good, but not amazing. Yet I still give this place a 5 star review because everything that I typically come here for always impresses me. Service, ambiance, drinks, and the soul of the place always puts a smile on my face. I don’t expect to come here to eat, but I am grateful that they have the typical fare to accommodate if that is what I am yearning for.

Da Bomb! Tight! Dope! Can you tell I went to the 80’s vs. 90’s event Saturday night? Mike McConnell and Justin Hand always provide great music and, forgive me for not knowing her name, but the lady pianist is very entertaining, as well. The ambiance is fantastic. This is a lovely old home that transitioned to a restaurant and bar. The eclectic furniture and décor often provide something fun to focus on and the abundance of odd chairs and couches provide a cozy feeling. The food is tapas style, small and tasty. The garlic shrimp with crusty bread, sliders, mac and cheese and grilled peaches are quite good. They have a fun drink menu for those seeking a new drink to try. And the bartenders… The gentleman upstairs very efficiently ran that bar. If you order something they don’t stock, you are directed toward the options and he quickly moves on to the next person while you decide. He covered as many patrons as possible and kept the lines moving as quickly as a person possibly can when that outnumbered. This place is the whole package!

Oh, the lavish time I had here last week. My devout adoration for Mollie Fontaine Lounge is no secret(see previous review) and although it’s been 5 years since I’ve been back, I have not been able to get this lounge that’s housed in a glorious Victorian mansion outta my head. I can’t think of a single other place that is just made for the likes of me. In fact, I think this may be my favorite place in the world. Now that the gushing is out of the way, onto my updated review. Before last week, I was last in Memphis in December. Annoyingly this was on a Tuesday night and Mollie’s is closed. Luckily last week, I was back in town on a Wednesday, so after Joelle P’s awesome Elite event, we hit up Mollie’s without passing Go. I think Wednesday nights are ideal if you’re looking for a more loungey/less clubby atmosphere(I hear it gets packed on weekends). We were seated in a divine sitting room that we had all to ourselves upstairs and immediately graced the velvet chaises with our presence. I stuck to vino and ordered up a bunch of small plates that our table of three shared(though I admit to possibly dominating the cracky rosemary-spiced pecans and za’atar-marinated olives. Whoa!) The tempura green beans are delightful and the cheese plate plentiful(killer blue included). We’re talking serious perfection, people. I left so smitten, I’m afraid I left my credit card behind. Was this my way of telling myself I needed to return the very next day?

One thing I do enjoy is house hunting, and history. Especially the older the homes, the more fascinated I get(anyone down for a road trip to Savannah?). When I heard there was not only a Victorian Village in Memphis, but a bar/lounge inside of a Victorian home, I couldn’t wait to try it! I had heard bits and pieces from different people, and the website did not provide much info, so I really didn’t have much basis to go. And with all of the driving I do in Memphis, I never ended up driving by. Last week, I told a coworker of mine, to hell with it– we are going to go! The business hours say they are open til 3AM, so getting there at 1am shouldn’t have been a problem. When we arrived, Adams Ave was literally a ghost street. We were the only cars parked out front! We even did a turn around, just to make sure we were not going crazy. We parked in front of a meter, but it said it was only enforced from 8am-6pm Monday-Friday. I am glad I read that, I was ready to feed my card(which I am glad I did not!). As we oogled at the building and walked up the front steps, the door slowly opened. At this point, I wondered what they would have thought about our clothing, fresh from work– but honestly, I could care less. A gentlemen greeted us and told us we had time for one«quick one». So much for being able to stay until 3! We went straight to the bar in the back left room, and since they had already cleaned up everything(still not sure about the 3AM time) — so I told him to make us 2 of your easiest, most popular drinks(never saw a menu). He made us a drink with peach purée, Basil Haydens, basil, and a touch of club soda. They were $ 12 a pop. Aside from the price, they were pretty solid drinks. We told them how we had been meaning to come by earlier, but work held us up. He then said they usually only stay open until 3 on the weekends. Glad to have found that out now. They said we could walk around and check stuff out, so that we did. The one thing I noticed about this place it reminded me of a scene from a trippy porn movie. An updated Victorian house with modern furniture and art. It is a pretty cool concept. I would say a great place to start or end a date. You can go upstairs(tall guys watch your head) — as there is more seating and another bar. There was a third floor, but it was roped off(I hear that is haunted– that’s where I wanted to go!). After a few quick glances and snapshots, it was time to bottoms up and return the glass downstairs. Another thing I noticed was there were ashtrays at each table– I kind of found that surprising(I would have thought for sure no smoking in an old building to preserve it). Now I am better educated about the place and the hours(and the prices), I might have to go back and give this place another shot. I hope I can get a sneak peak of that third floor! The place was already eerie just being there with the bartenders!
