Best kept secret in Hickory Hill. Been living in the area 16 yrs. and did not know about Pop’s until I started working at Ridgeway Precinct. Philly Cheesesteak and burgers are the greatest I have had since living in Memphis. The chips are delicious as well as the seasoned fries.

So I have been wanting to try Pop’s Deli for the longest!!! Today I realized that I work within minutes from the Deli, so I stopped by. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by staff. I placed a to go order. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich and homemade chips. The price was affordable and the food was made quickly. As I drove home, I couldn’t wait to eat my food as it smelled amazing. As soon as I got home, I devoured my sandwich. I will say it has to be one of the best Philly cheese steak sandwiches I have ever eaten. Plus the homemade chips tasted great. I will definitely be back to try some of their other sandwiches.

This place is a small mom and pop looking shop near the warehouse area in Memphis. Stopped by for lunch at the suggestion of a co-​worker and when we arrived it was packed with no tables in sight so we knew it had to be good. I ordered the memphis BBQ burger and the burger size was very generous, more than i was expecting even though i was told to expect more then other places serve! The burgers was great with just the right balance of all the ingredients (some places i find add way too much sauce on these types of burgers). Also I ordered their home made potato chips which were delicious! Great place to stop by during lunch while working

Pop’s Deli is absolutely delicious! Definitely not in the ideal area, but well worth the 10 minute drive into Memphis. I got the Chilean sandwich and homemade chips, and they were FANTASTIC! Probably the best homemade chips I’ve ever had. The Chilean Sandwich was fresh and so flavorful. My mom and sister ordered the Philly Cheesesteaks and they were just as impressed as I am. I ordered my boys chicken strips and french fries, and the amount of food was insane (the pieces were huge). Will definitely be going back!

Went with a couple guys from work for lunch today.
One had a philly steak sub, one had pastrami, and I had the Chilean beef sandwich. Everyone was very pleased with their food. Fries and chips were sold.
Chilean beef sandwich was fantastic. Looking forward to devouring another soon. Perfect combination of flavors.

Finally made it here for lunch. All the reviews are accurate the food is amazing and quick. The employees were warm and friendly. We all had different versions of the Philly cheesesteak and all agreed it was one of the best we’ve ever had, at least in Memphis. Will definitely eat here again!

I had the Philly. It was the bomb-​diggity! I also had the potato chips. They were okay. Nothing special. I will be trying the fries next time. Their restaurant inside is clean and spacious. I had their sweet tea; it is the perfect consistency –not overpowering in the sweetness department, which is how I like my sweet tea. If you get a chance, I highly recommend you give this place a shot! I have never had the real thing in Philly, but if it is anything like this, I am glad they have this place here in Memphis.

Oh eM Gee! This place is great!
I had someone ask me this morning if I had ever been to Pop’s Deli. They said that someone told them the gyros were great. So, I read a couple of reviews (Thank you, Kristi W) and asked my lunch buddy if he had ever been. His answer was no but luckily he like me LOVES food and trying new places. He threw his lunch in the frig and said he was in.
The chicken gyro and homemade chips were fantastic! Everything that was brought out from the kitchen looked great though. By the time we left, there wasn’t an empty seat in the place. If you are crunched for time, they do take call-​in orders. We will definitely be going back. I am looking forward to trying the Philly next!
Time for an after lunch nap. Ha! I wish!

This place is Memphis’s little hidden gem. The best Philly cheesesteak in Memphis (chicken and steak). Staff is friendly, quick service and nice atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable.

My favorite hidden gem in Memphis. I have never tried anything here that I haven’t liked. My favorite is the chicken gyro… no wait it’s the homemade chips… actually make it the Cheeseburger sub! You get the idea. (seriously though, you HAVE to try the chips, they are divine.) If I’m wanting to pick up dinner on my way home from work, I often wait until I’m halfway there because they generally only take around 15 minutes to get it ready. They moved a few stores down a while back, giving them a larger eat in area which is great as well. If you’re lucky you’ll see Pop himself there when you stop by, I’ve even seen a certain Grizzly player there a time or two. Luckily for me, Pop’s is not to far from home, if the location is out of your normal stomping grounds though, I can promise you won’t regret your trip out here.

Do you like authentic, inexpensive Philly cheese steak, Chicken Philly cheese sandwiches, Gyro’s, Greek salads, Reuben Sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs. then Pops’ is your place! The food is plentiful and wonderful flavor! Wow, this is one place I will give 5 stars too ;)

Hidden and tucked away in a corner, the place is a gem. The food is delicious, cheap, and the service is great. You can call in your order and pick it up in 20 min which it makes it pretty convenient. Oh did I mention its ridiculously delicious? They have the best cheeseburgers and Philly sandwiches I’ve had in Memphis and that’s pretty hard to find.
The place is family owned and there seems fo ba a member of the family always on staff and they make sure you leave satisfied.

The best chicken philly sandwiches in the city are here. I stand by that statement wholeheartedly. I’ve come to Pop’s several times and every time I’ve visited I’ve ordered their chicken philly. I like the new location (which is a few doors down from the old location) because it has more space for guests to eat.
The restaurant is very clean and there are a variety of items on the menu to choose from (i.e. gyros, wings, corned/​roast beef, and hot dogs). Definitely check out Pop’s Deli. I highly recommend it.

The best culinary find in Memphis. Completely unexpected location – in a strip mall somewhere on Shelby between Kirby and Riverdale – yet quite possibly the best deal outside the 240 loop in Memphis.
All the specialty sandwiches are excellent and unique. I don’t get why so many deli-​style places limit themselves to cold cuts. The Chilean, Philly, and Gyro here are all on point and as delicious as the other reviews make them out to be.
The chips are addictive and taste like they were made with actual potatoes. Love the seasoning on them too.
Best of all, service is nice, they encourage you to call in your orders (recommended as they do cook them there and it can take a bit), and the prices are excellent.
