I have a lot of experience with ranges throughout the country. I was absolutely flabbergasted at the way I was treated when I came in looking for some information. They treated me as if I was completely ignorant and I truly did not appreciate it. The individual at the counter did’e want to get into detail about the experience of their instructors but just kept insisting that they were the best. As this individual was lecturing me on how much better they were another employee or manger walked past and never bothered to help at all even though it was clear that I was not getting the answers I needed. I left and will never return. As a very experienced collector, I would not trust these guys at all.

Wow! I am beyond shocked that this place has such bad reviews. We had an absolute ball here. For starters, I went here a few years ago to get my permit to carry. For $ 99 you can take a class that lasts two days and if you pass… boom! Permit to carry. Short and sweet, just like I like it(99% on the written test and 99% on the shooting test, yeah, I just bragged). I haven’t been to the shooting range in a few years but I went back yesterday and for $ 65 I got an hour long private lesson… and they supplied the gun! It was such a fun date night. They really focus on safety and protecting yourself. They are very professional and serious… yet still make it fun. That can be a fine line but they succeed and surpassed my wildest expectations. I can’t wait to come back for level 2!

I took my basic handgun course here and the instructor was quite a bully. He was incredibly condescending, and almost turned me off handguns. He actually suggest I try carrying a .22 if I couldn’t handle a Glock. All I said was that the Glock 19 they laid out for me(without asking me, I might add) was a bad fit for my hand. Since then, I decided to give the sport one more try and took a course at Range USA, and the difference was like night and day. At Range USA the instructors were patient, and didn’t talk down to me at all. Now I not only belong to a range, I compete in Steel Challenge, IDPA and I’m an NRA certified instructor myself. I would recommend anyone interested in learning more about handguns or sport shooting avoid this facility.

Other places might be cheaper, but Rangemaster offers the highest quality instruction, period. Sometimes it’s understandable to go the cheapest route, but not when it comes to firearms training. The Rangemaster permit class includes all necessary ammunition and a 25-page illustrated workbook that you can take home with you for future reference. The 8-hour class is offered several times a month as shown on their website, and you can choose to take all 8 hours in one day or take it over two consecutive days. The $ 99 fee DOES include a handgun rental if you don’t have your own firearm. In fact, they recommend that you take the class before purchasing a firearm. That way, they can help you decide what handgun options might be best for your situation, your intended purpose, your level of training, and your hand-size — even if you don’t buy the gun from them. And they won’t try to sell you an inadequate little pop gun just because you’re a woman or a giant canon just because you’re a man(like other chauvinists in the business often do). When I took the class, I’ll admit the instructors were pretty insistent about safety rules. But when everyone around me is holding a deadly weapon(some for the very first time), that’s EXACTLY how I want them to be. It’s not a knitting class, after all.

This is a gun shop and training facility. I called to ask about their hand gun classes and I talked to a guy on the phone who was pretty rude. He was rude enough I just found another place right inside Millington I’d rather go called Top Brass. Whoever I spoke with on the phone wouldn’t let me finish a sentence and kept interrupting me and answering the question before I full asked any questions. One time the guy answered completely wrong and I had to ask again. Anyway Top Brass is cheaper even with a hand gun rental and it doesn’t take two 4 hours classes. The class is just one 8 hour class which is what I prefer. It frees up that second day so I want have to go back for another four hours. If I am going to do it let me kill it in on day. Also the waiting list for the class is a lot smaller. RM wanted 99 bucks for the class. I am not sure if this includes a rental or not. Top Brass wanted 89 and that includes a gun rental to use for the course.
