Stalked this food truck to try their stuffed burger version of a jalapeño popper. It was totally worth it. The inventiveness of the menu item names is well matched by the execution of the aforementioned menu items. Their French fries come with a sweet/hot shake on them. After chatting with the chef/owner and his two co-workers, I was ready to try one of everything on the menu. The next time I found them at Overton Park, I had the Banh Me Jovi, based on Steph’s previous recommendation. Now I’m hoping to catch up to them to try the Seth I Hear You Calling.

So I am lucky enough to have Food Truck Friday’s at my job and had the chance to try Rawk’ n Grub. I ordered on the specials menu and got the Patti La Melte(beef pattymelt with caramelized onions, smoked gouda pimento cheese, melted american cheese on wheatberry bread) with candied bacon and a side of the fried fleetwood Mac. Let me just say my burger was huge. I wasn’t able to finish it all and had leftovers lol but I must say that it was well cooked, flavorful and tasted great. However, I was not a fan of the fried fleetwood Mac. I found it to be extremely salty. I even tried the Blue suede shoestring potatoes that my co-worker ordered. I though they were okay but I also found them to be salty. My co-worker ordered on the specials list as well and ordered the flaming lips burger(smoked gouda pimento cheese, diced jalapenos and applewood smoked bacon stuffed inside an 8oz patty and garlic aioli on a brioche bun. Her burger was massive as well lol but she really liked how flavorful it was. If you want a burger that satisfies your hunger, Rawk’n Grub is the place to go!

I may not be a Phish fan, but –much like their Ben and Jerry’s namesake ice cream — I LOVE Phish Tacos. I had a chance to grab them up while Rawk n Grub was at Ridgeway Loop one afternoon. The lady who took my order, graciously chose the tacos for me as opposed to the chicken sandwich. I was debating between the two and she assured me the tacos were a home run. She was SO right! There were 3 tacos chock full of blackened catfish, coleslaw, and black eyed pea/mango salsa. Black eyed peas on fish tacos you say? I was kind of nervous. Plus cilantro lime crema on top? It all sounded like way too much going on, but the ingredients work in perfect harmony. The catfish was tasty and the slaw wasn’t overdressed. Fresh and satisfying! I can’t wait to try the burgers!

This food truck is great! The art on the truck is fun for starters. The burger I had was amazing! Cooked perfectly and a good size burger(8 oz I believe). Seasoned so well and alittle pink inside… just perfect. Pimento cheese was on this one and it was flavorful and creamy. Added a lot to the burger. The star was the candied bacon! It was so good and the flavor held its own with the rest of the burger. Delicious! Sides I tried were really good. Fries were crispy and the seasoning was really good. Cole slaw was really nice and you could tell it was home made with purple cabbage, carrots and other ingredients. The people running the truck are so nice and they came out and chatted at one point. Highly recommend you track this truck down and try some food.

We came across Rawk’n Grub a few months back, and have been following them around town ever since. This is a gourmet food truck, with great flavor profiles, and a wide variety of options. MY favorite is the new Southern Rawk Burger, stuffed with Pimento cheese and Gouda, topped with candied bacon. Most of their food is a play on various rockers, songs, and celebrities, and while the«Kayne Breast» can be misleading, it is one awesome chicken sandwhich!

wanted something different for our sales meeting. We invited the truck to come down and cater our lunch for 14. we left the menu up to the Chef we were treated to a very tasty aray of sliders. They were on time and the food was great .I recived several complaints from other staff members on how they enjoyed the free lunch. will have them out again

New kid on the block food truck Rawk’n Grub brings rock references and artisanal cooking to junk food sandwiches and a couple of salads. RnG has a pretty nifty assemblage of puns in their menu(Al Greens, anyone?), but they’ve fortunately spent as much time on their food prep as their menu titles. I ate the CC Sliders at the recommendation of the staff and added a side of Fried Fleetwood Mac(rimshot, please). The sliders, prepared from a mix of beef, chorizo, and bacon, are topped with chipotle aioli and tomato jam and pack a roto-tom fill of flavor. Even the cornerstone side Tater Styx come well seasoned and tasty. The aforementioned FF Mac is a rectangular slab of fried glory that could be one-handed midset by any drummer except Def Leppard’s. My only recommendation to the cooks would be to add a dip to it — maybe a spicy ranch — to take it to 11. My crew had the Cheesy Like Sunday Morning grilled cheese and Livin’ La Vida Porka cuban sandwich and raved about them. I’ll be back, and the next trip will probably involve the Fruity Pebble-encrusted chicken tenders… Whoa.
