I’d definitely second the recommendation that Spruce is a good spot for unique gifts. They have a sweet corner full of wonderful things for baby, and a nice selection of jewelry, too. I landed here searching for interesting home décor, but for my purposes, the store was just too tiny — one fairly small room — to have much of a selection to choose from. If you’re in the area, I’d stop in, but IMHO it’s not worth a detour.

If you are in need of the perfect and also unique gift, spruce is the perfect shop for you. They carry tons of amazing home décor items, fragrances, jewelry, and baby items. Meg, the store manager, has impeccable taste and is super helpful in putting together great gifts. Oh, and they gift wrap. I highly recommend stopping in whenever you are in need of a baby, wedding, friend or personal gift! If you need interior design, the shop owner and interior designer– Selena, has a super chic aesthetic that also offers bits of surprising touches of color and fun.

This store looks like it came out of Architectural Digest, and for that it gets four stars — lots of posh, modern, fancy gear to make your space more luxurious. Personally, I found it to be three stars due to being a bit overpriced. A throw pillow filled with goose down, while beautiful and on my ‘want’ list, will remain on my ‘want’ list at over $ 200. Don’t get me wrong, the place is worth a look — and if money is no object, you’ll find some pretties. They also carry pretty anthropologie-esque accessories, such as necklaces, bracelets, and a very sharp silver wristlet — soft leather — for $ 50. That wasn’t so bad and I almost snatched it up. Other brands spotted were Terra Provence and Tatine candles, as well as Herve Gambs.

Spruce is sort of the ultimate in hidden gems. It’s located on the western side of the gray brick shopping center /office park on Sanderlin, near Interim restaurant. It’s been open for almost three years. The storefront is rather small, but it’s packed with color — there’s furniture, lovely glass vases, handmade books, adorable toys, and reclaimed estate jewelry. The shop owner, Selena McAdams, is an interior designer, and all of the items inside Spruce have clearly been selected with great care and attention. I hesitate to call Spruce an interior design store, because it’s much more than that. On my visit, I was totally taken with their selection of adorable and unconventional stuffed animals. I picked up a sea foam green latticework pendant necklace. It reminds me a bit of a lawn chair. So, a big thank you to the person who suggested that I check out Spruce. I’ll definitely be stopping in again.
