Food ok. Some things were really good but not everything. The 1 star is for how bad the service was. Menu says items should take 7 – 10 min for prep. Took over 20 for ours. Sat over 10 min to be waited on at all. Our server seemed to be doing the best he could but didn’t seem trained well. Manager looking guy seemed uninterested in much of anything. Helping some groups but not noticing us. Awful customer service and management. May be worth a visit if that changes. But not before then. Steak Carbon tacos were best in our group but inconsistent with temp and look of them. Chips and salsa good. What should have been quick, casual dinner was a long drawn out ordeal. Won’t be back.

Swanky’s is good, not great. It’s not expensive, but it’s in the high end of the «cheap» spectrum.
I’ve tried the tacos, the salad bowl, the burrito, and the chips with cheese dip and they were all alright but I’ve had better. They’re pretty comparable to Chipotle down the road, but Chipotle is tastier and cheaper.

First and last time here. Got the steak carbon tacos and a drink $ 15 bucks. The steak was really tough and chewy, but it did have good flavor. The chips and salsa were pretty bad, it tasted like a slightly spicy marinara sauce. The side of corn with feta was average and same goes for the rice. The only thing i enjoyed was the sweet tea. I was stationed in san diego for a few years, there u could spend $ 7 for a huge delicious lunch that blows this sorry excuse of a taco shop out of the water.

I do not know the bartenders name, blonde hair and dark lipstick, but she does a great job of checking on all the customers.
I’ve been there quite a few times recently to get a couple beers after work and she has consistently been a great bartender.

I love Swanky’s! My husband and I love coming here since it is right around the corner from our house. He usually always gets the yummy burrito and I choose the taco salad. The tequila bar is pretty yummy, too! Next time you’re craving a nice patio, tequila, and Mexican food, check out Swanky’s!

Authentic ingredients, refreshing vibe. I had the Mexican Carbon. It was a lot of food for $ 12. The corn was a little under cooked or dried out I can’t figure out which but the rate was really good. I’m not normally a fan of pico but theirs is good the cilantro didn’t over power. The chips were light and I liked the seasoning on them and the salsa didn’t make my nose run so that was a plus. Service could have been better considering it was a Sunday and slow. I think the waitress was new. But I’d visit again.

I love this place especially 2 for 1 margaritas!!! But the service was lame as hell! Wait. back to the food… the best, I mean the BEST crawfish tacos everrrrrr!!! .now back to this so called bartender!!! Didn’t greet us. we sat down and 10 min in still didn’t have a menu. After 5 more mins got our first drink. still hasn’t acknowledged us or gave us menus! 10 more mins we order our food… eat. still waiting on our second drink still no acknowledgement! So to sum it up Dont sit at the ba expecting to get a REAL bartender but end up just getting someone making drinks!!! Smh… the worst experience!

Good stuff. Fresh ingredients and good options. Love the spicy ranch sauce. Price is definitely on the high side, however my husband and I are able to split one salad so that makes it worth the price.

The food was good, but not as great as it was when they first opened. The atmosphere was of a rush feeling. Although, I like the way you can see them prepare some of your food (dishes) while you’re standing there.

Great food and beverages are awesome. I’m a big fan of the burrito bowl. Good bang for your buck and I’m always full. Happy Hour everyday from 3 to 6pm.

I used to love coming here. I don’t know what is happening to their food, or service. It seems to be getting worse each time I come. I could easily bought this pizza at Kroger frozen aisle for 1⁄3 the price.

Not a bad place! I’ve only eaten there once, but i got a chicken bowl. The portions are large! I like the interior of this swankys. Also the good thing about this place is they serve margaritas and alc and beer, for those that like to kick back with their mexican food.
Definitely dont come here looking for authentic hispanic food. But come here if you would like a break from the regular chipotle or taco bell of your life. It’s not as good as chipotle, but they put less salt in their food than chipotle does, so it tastes a little healthier.

I have dreams about the build-​your-​own salad. That may seem overly-​dramatic, but it’s quite possibly the best meal-​sized salad I’ve had in Memphis. I especially appreciate that you can add your own toppings and specify for the kitchen to apply these with a «light» hand, and everything seems very fresh. Service can range from attentive and enthusiastic to tentative, but this is not really atypical for most casual-​ish restaurants. Maybe one day I’ll venture beyond the salad, but until that day, this is my go-​to salad of choice in Memphis!

I’ve never actually physically been there, but my family has all kinds of events whenever I’m in town… and they bring in Swanky’s.
All of the stuff seems very fresh and are made with decent ingredients. Last week we had the shrimp as a welcome addition to the regular taco meat and shredded chicken. The shrimp was spiced perfectly and the shredded chicken was really moist and tender. They also ordered «mexican dumplings» — these were quite yummy. They were fried with some meat inside… they were what they are called… dumplings. Bite-​sized and very easy (too easy) to eat a bunch of them.
The salsas and side sauces are all quite good, too. I’d like to actually go there at some point since tacos should be eaten right away. Take out is never as good.

I hadn’t been to Swanky’s in about three years, so when the suggestion came up to have lunch here, I was game. Boy, things have changed a lot in three years.
I ordered a burrito bowl — was happy to see a large serving of meat — in this case, pork. I added black beans, onions and peppers, sour cream, and cheese.
Unfortunately, it was flavorless, sopping wet with liquid. Any bit of flavor present on the pork and toppings was gone. There was a huge amount of liquid goop in the bottom of the bowl.
Thank goodness I got chips and queso, so I’d have some carbs to fill up on, but even then, the queso was very milky and lacking any cheesy richness. The chips were decent, though.
I really hate to say this, but drive down the road to either Las Delicias or Chipotle if you want decent Mexican food.
