The Corkscrew

Great place for downtown folks to grab a bottle of wine on the way home. The staff are really helpful and don’t embarrass you when you ask for the cheap… budget friendly options :)
Of course it’s smaller than most Memphis wine/​liquor shops so the prices are a tab bit higher.
Love the location and will back again and again.

Love this place and the familiar faces we see when we’re in for our weekly red wine purchase. Great selection and if there’s anything they don’t have they will put an order in. They have added snacks and most important– organic Milk! To their fridge so now we can stop in instead of driving all the way out to Kroger! They also have little wine bottle gift bags and cards in case you are stopping in for a host gift before a party. Love it here!

Nice little liquor store downtown attached to the Blue Monkey. The store isn’t huge but they have a nice enough selection. And the prices are fair… not outrageous like some…**cough, Kimbrough Towers Fine Wine & Spirits on Union**.
The staff is very friendly and quick to answer any questions you may have. They are open from 10 am to 11 pm Monday through Saturday, which I greatly appreciate. I can’t tell you how many times I pop in there on the way to my girlfriend’s house after dinner when we just want to pop open a bottle of wine and talk about boys.

Good selection of wines, prices seem a tiny bit lower than other stores in town.

I used to live in downtown Memphis, and this is the nicest liquor store in the area, as well as one of the best in the city. The selection is awesome, and the service is outstanding.
Who knew the best pinot is from Oregon? I didn’t. I was perusing the aisles one day, shopping for a friend, when the guy behind the counter came over and offered help. He steered me away from the California wines and suggested that I buy pinot from yep, you guessed it, Oregon. My friend was so super-​impressed with my selection that I was tempted to take all the credit myself. But I didn’t.
This is a really clean, friendly, well-​stocked liquor store and since I work downtown, lucky me can still shop there for my favorite wines.

The Corkscrew is connected to The Blue Monkey in downtown Memphis. We frequent this fabulous wine/​liquor store and what makes that even more fabulous is we walk there. Walking home with liquor in paper bags humbles you a little bit– knocks the class outta ya if you know what I mean.
The Corkscrew has a really extensive selection (even offering boxed wines for those of you so inclined) of wines and liquors, and everything within its 4 walls is reasonably priced. What I love most about this place is the 2 dudes who work the counter. They are in there every time I go, not sure if that’s a coincidence, or if they run the place. They are knowledgeable about wine, very friendly, super laid back and genuinely helpful. They always have their very own play list pumping through the sound system and every time I’ve been in the music playing has been indicative of the fact that they have good taste. Nothing like choosing your alcoholic selection of the evening while jamming out to some Radiohead. Good times.

This place is walking distance from my friend! They have a great selection (no Busters) but it is nice. They staff is very helpful and always have made good selections. I like it…
