Course is in better shape than in years past. Greens are playing well. Fast with the grain. But let’s clarify something. The Fedex St. Classic has never been hosted by Audubon. It was originally hosted at Colonial Country Club until 1989 and then was moved to Southwind.

This course was NOT used for the Danny Thomas Classic.
Old Colonial was located at the corner of Park and Perkins and was the location for that professional tournament. When the current colonial was built Old Colonial was sold.
Go to Mortimers on north Perkins and talk to the owners there about it. Vernon «Mortimer» Bell is the father of the owners and help start the Danny Thomas Classic.

I’ve been here several times. This course was once used for what is now the St. Jude Golf Classic played at Southwind.
