It’s been a minute since we came here for date night, but what has stuck with me is the SERVICE. Of the waitstaff in Memphis, the folks here really take care of you! I had tomato soup, and I imagine it was good because I don’t remember it being bad. The dessert shooters were great at the end of the meal, and though they seem small they are RICH. We got two each, and I felt like I needed to be rolled out of there by the end of the meal. Fun, character-filled restaurant on Main.

Always have a wonderful time at The Majestic Grill. The fillet and a bottle of red make for an epic night in this super chill spot.

Great experience all around. We ordered the calamari app which arrived promptly and was cooked well. I got a cup of the gumbo, which was very good. A little spicy, the way I like it. I ordered the burger and my wife got the grilled cheese. We each shared a bit of the others and they were both outstanding. The only negative was the dessert shooter. My wife got the strawberry shortcake, which just wasn’t up to par with the rest of the great meal. We both thought the place would have better and more substantial desserts. Overall a great experience and would highly recommend to others.

Absolutely fantastic meal! We happened across this place based on reviews and because we were uninspired by our options on Beale Street. We got a seat right away on the patio even though it was a Saturday night and watched the trains and horse drawn carriages go by. I had the steak(filet) with mash and broccoli no and hubby had the park tenderloin. Both were delicious! I told our server it was quite possibly the best steak I’d ever eaten — and we were in Texas only a couple of months earlier. We travel full time and are fortunate to eat at many places around the country(world) so while I wouldn’t say we are food critics(far from it) we are definitely becoming very enthusiastic foodies with an appreciation for the perfect balance between good food, service, ambience and price. This place hit the spot and we loved that the desserts were little servings in «shot glasses» so we could try several flavors at only $ 2 each. We even tried to go back again the next night but they were closed due to Mother’s Day. Next time we are in Memphis this place will definitely get a re-visit!

The Majestic grilled cheese with their skinny garlic Parmesan fries is a perennial fave. Their flatbreads are always delicious, and they were the first restaurant to introduce me to shot glass desserts. They also pioneered(in Memphis anyway) the bottle of champagne and carafe of OJ for brunch mimosas. What’s not to love? When weather permits, dining al fresco on the Majestic’s patio lends itself to awesome people watching on Main St. I always see a few friends walking by. It’s my go to post Orpheum stop, especially when I have a niece or two with me. Like their aunt, they love the shot glass desserts. Patrick and Deni do a wonderful job of creating a homey feeling while delivering delicious food. Their annual showing of Christmas Vacation with the accompanying Ugly Sweater contest is a favorite, and their half price gift card sale is a can’t miss event. I heard people even contemplated camping out last year.

Memphis, TN My family, and I took a road trip to Chicago, IL. The reason, we needed to get my daughter to college. So we had eaten at a number of restaurants In Memphis. This restaurant was worth mentioning. We wanted to sit inside for the obvious reasons. Being that is was not only historical, but also beautifully preserved. We opted to eat a little sooner then later. With no regrets, we enjoyed the food, the beautiful weather, and the great view.

We came here from Texas! The food was amazing. We shared the spinach and artichoke dip and it was just perfect. The tomato and basil soup was creamy and mouth watering. The bone rib-eye was juicy and melts in your mouth amazing. The lemon chicken was a bit on the small side for the price but the taste was second to none. The atmosphere is casual but we came dress to the nine.

If you’re looking for a place to brunch with great ambiance and affordable prices then this is it. The food and mimosas are incredible. We got a bottle of champagne that came with OJ. Before your food, there’s a biscuit basket so carb lovers rejoice. I got the biscuit and gravy not knowing we got free biscuits beforehand but it was worth it. Spicy gravy gives it an extra kick. Though I do recommend making a reservation before coming, especially if there’s a show at the Orpheum going on. I knocked one star off because this place isn’t on Open Table. It’s 2016, catch up to technology please.

Oh, the Majestic. How much you let me down. I was in Memphis for a long weekend trip with my SO. We were excited about eating Memphis BBQ, Gus’s chicken, and checking out the Majestic. A friend who used to live in Memphis highly recommended it, saying we had to have the grilled cheese sandwich and the parmesan fries. We checked Unilocal and saw that it had good reviews and seemed like a cool place, with the silent movie playing, so we were really looking forward to checking it out. We were so disappointed. To us, it’s not a grilled cheese sandwich unless melted cheese is oozing out the sides. Anything else is just a cheese sandwich. The Majestic«grilled cheese» sandwich — at least the one we were served — was a cheese sandwich with bacon and tomato. The cheese wasn’t melted. The bacon was too chewy and hard to eat on a sandwich. And the tomato was pathetic. Tomatoes aren’t in season, so I’ll give them a pass on that, but the squares of cheese and the chewy bacon are inexcusable. The fries didn’t stand out in any way. In fact, neither of us could really taste the parmesan at all. We didn’t finish our sandwich or our fries. And we were splitting the meal. The service was good, but they kind of pressure you into purchasing a dessert. The server comes over with a tray of their mini-desserts and holds them right in front of you. They’re only $ 1.99, but not very good. There are fabulous bakeries in the area. Walk to one of those and get a dessert instead. Now for the biggest disappointment of all: the movie screen. We loved the concept and it’s the reason we really wanted to visit the Majestic. However, no one on our side of the restaurant could see the screen because a giant palm tree is plopped in front of it. Why on earth would any designer think that’s a good place for a tree? So, I’m tempted to give just 2 stars, but I will concede that the drinks were good and some of the brunch dishes at tables around ours looked delicious. We should have ordered one of those meals instead of the cheese sandwich. And if they move the freakin’ palm tree so the highlight of the space — the movie — can be seen, that’d be nice.

Ok, let’s just say I feel like the sour Sam of Unilocalers writing this review. Everyone else seems to be raving about this place. I’ve wanted to dine here forever and finally got the chance. I was SO unimpressed I don’t even want to write a review but the ambiance and the concept of the restaurant are awesome. So that’s where the 2 stars come from. I’m going to chalk the bad food up to… let’s say a new cook.(I don’t know if they had a new cook). To start we had the cornmeal breaded calamari. The breading had a great texture but it was flavorless. On to the side salad. It was a very pretty salad, fresh greens and tomatoes with feta. However, the ranch dressing was reminiscent of the calamari. Flavorless. On to the salmon and Spinach flat bread. I’m not sure why I was expecting it to taste like but dry as desert sand wasn’t what came to mind. It was also very fishy. My friend had the chicken sandwich and she said that was really good. I tasted the parmesan French fries and those were good but salty. Perhaps that is where the seasoning for the calamari went. We had a fairly large group and overall no one was impressed or overly pleased with the food. Based on other reviews I’ll chalk this up as an anomaly.

Downtown Dining Week continues… The husband and I went for a late bite to eat. Arrived was seated promptly. Waiter was OK. Got drinks… waited 15 min to order. The special was 3 green salad with feta, entrée was bacon and spinach stuffed trout, soooooooo gooodddd! Omg, let me tell you. Best thing since crushed ice!!! My husband had glazed salmon. He said it was good. Dessert was strawberry shortcake shooters, soooo good! All in all, a good experience. Will return. Have to get to the brunch here. I have heard its AWESOME!!!

When I walked past tables for food people were eating looked amazing. But I wasn’t overly thrilled with their desserts. I was here for a food tour and so we got to try six of their mini desserts. It’s a super cute concept each dessert comes out in a little mini cup. So you get to try lots different things without being overwhelmed and flavor. And again you get to try different things. We tried carrot cake, Keylime pie, delicious chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake, And a couple other things I don’t remember. Obviously they don’t stand out in my mind. Out of the six things the carrot cake was the best. But I’ve had way better carrot cake other places. Everything about this place screams money. So if you’re looking to spend extra money then go here. But that’s entirely up to you. If you’re looking just for dessert I don’t really recommend this place but there were worse places to go. It is clean and the staff is nice so that’s definitely in its favor.

I was Downtown this week and I thought it would be nice to check out this restaurant since I had it bookmarked on Unilocal. When we arrived it looked closed but the hours on the door said opened so we walked in. As we walked in, the hostess looked at us in confusion. She didn’t greet us(minus a star!) I said hello and asked her if they were open since I noticed that they were setting up, I suppose for dinner. She looked at us again with confusion and told us how can she help us. I said we would like to eat in if possible. She hesitated and told us to hold on for a moment. Now I looked at my husband and told him that maybe we should leave because the hostess was obviously confused LOL If they were closed or busy, she could of just told us or expressed that we needed a reservation. Either way communication would of been nice. She came back after a few minutes and told us to follow her. She seated us in the very back, which was cool because I was able to view the big screen that plays all the old movies. However, after we were seated it took about 15 minutes before a waiter showed up(minus a star!). When our waiter finally got there, he was polite and courteous and recommended the seared tuna. My husband ordered the seared tuna while I ordered the Lemon Grilled Chicken. While we waited on our food, our waiter brought out our drinks and the complementary bread. Now the bread was delicious. It was seasoned and tasted great. My Lemon Grilled Chicken was so good. The chicken was moist and the roasted veggies tasted yummy. My husband greatly enjoyed his tuna, asparagus and jasmine rice. Overall, this place was great except for the hostess incident and the wait for a server. I thought the restaurant had a really nice atmosphere, the food was delicious, and our server was great once he arrived. I will definitely be back. Also, now that I have read other reviews, I will make a reservation before I go next time maybe that was why she was so confused ;)

This place is ridiculously cool. It’s like you’ve stepped back into old Hollywood. This two story venue is very open and has an upstairs balcony that allows you to do some great people watching. Palm trees line the middle and at the very back end of the restaurant there is a huge screen where they play old movies! To stay with the theme music played throughout is old 40s/50s. Now for the food. Wow. Not only was the complimentary bread basket yummy, but the spinach dip was on point as well. For an entrée I got the smoked salmon. I love all things salmon and really did enjoy their Rosemary honey glaze. Along with the salmon, there was asparagus and white rice. I was shocked how much I liked the white rice. All in all, I think everyone was happy with their food. Definitely give this place a try!

First off I’m rather salty there is no place in Atlanta like The Majestic Grille. For the the quality of food, service, and atmosphere this place would be price jacked if in the ATL. I’m a sucker for a nice plate setting and great interiors, and The Majestic Grille does both well. This place is much more larger inside than it appears on the outside. It is roomy, seductive, and has a fantastic bar. Food wise my husband was not impressed with his Artichoke Flatbread. Myself on the other hand enjoyed the Artichoke Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was plentiful. The eggs poached perfectly, and the artichoke gave a nice vinegar taste to the dish. Also as I alluded to earlier, the prices on the menu are well under what I’m used to for brunch in Atlanta. I was more than satisfied. Our service was a little frazzled, because it looked like she had many tables to serve, and their was a hiccup with getting a booth bused, but other than that I had no complaints.
