U-Pack Moving

I used ABF Upack for the first time for my temporary move to Memphis. I say temporary just because I’ll be in Memphis only for a few months boo!!!
Anyways, enough about me, here’s the low down:
ABF Upack is just like PODS, where they drop off basically a large metal box (ABF calls these relocubes) or large trailer and you pack up your stuff and they move it to your destination for you.
Customer Service:
Extremely helpful! I was first contacted by a customer service rep after I received an initial quote online. I negotiated with him and got the price down to what made sense for me and we had a done deal. He was extremely friendly and courteous. The customer service reps in Philly were just as friendly and helpful also. Service reps (on the phone at least) in Memphis were a bit less courteous, something that I found interesting. They were helpful nonetheless though.
Price:
I paid 1400 to move my stuff from Philly to Memphis. To give you perspective, Uhaul and Pensky were both quoting me around 1k for a 14 foot truck, but I would have had to pay for gas also. Do a simple best case scenario calculation for 1000 miles; 10 mpg (if you’re driving extremely conservatively… Uhaul quotes mpg for a truck as 6 – 10 mpg) x 1000 miles x 3.25 a gallon = 325 dollars.
1400 vs 1325(again, best case scenario) = I went with ABF because I didn’t have to drive a truck and plus I doubt that I would have gotten 10 mpg… probably more likely 8 mpg. Also Uhaul wanted to charge me 200 dollars to hitch a tow dolly to tow my car… it cost me 105 in gas to drive to Memphis. Going with ABF just made more financial sense… and driving a large truck being the slow right lane driver just blows in general lol.
Service:
All my stuff arrived safely! Aside from 1 broken bowl, 1 broken plate, and 2 broken glasses, everything else was fine. The broken stuff was really because I didn’t pack that box right. The main thing with the relocubes is that you need to pack these things correctly.
All in all, I am EXTREMELY happy I found ABF, because they made my move that much easier (I’m sure you understand driving a Uhaul is not fun… especially for 1000+ miles), and it was cheaper!
