We Stopped at Uncle Lou’s fried chicken after our visit to Graceland. Food, awesome. I had 3 pieces mixed meal with sweet spicy love mild BBQ sauce and onion rings. The spice powder on the table(don’t know what it is called) taste really good with onion rings. I never like onion rings but I gave it a try here and I like it a lot. It is very crispy and not soggy at all. Onion ring is MUSTTRY. One thing I want to recommend to the management is that the dining area needs to be clean. May be remodel and clean the bathroom and dining floor.

The thing I have to remember when following and visiting the places that Guy Fieri does his show from is the name of the show. Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. If you go with that and visit these places for the sake of experiencing the food, you won’t regret the visit. The hi-lighted dish here was the fries chicken. It was real good and moist. The 2 hot sauces added another level of flavor. The owner is very friendly and service is spot on.

So I was really craving some fried chicken and a biscuit after work. A girl I work with sent me on over to Uncle Lou’s. I got the 3 piece mixed meal with corn nuggets and boy the lady at the register did not do me wrong. She had me get half homestyle and half regular. The wings were delicious both flavored and regular; juicy and tender. The corn nuggets were creamy and hot. The biscuit was so flakey, buttery and covered in honey! The biscuit was almost my favorite part. My whole experience was great. The staff members are very friendly and the food is amazing. A definite must try for some good chicken.

Sweet and spicy chicken was good. Honey biscuits would be better if they were hot. Home style wings were lacking seasoning. Loved the koolaid option on the drink menu. Fried pickles were the bomb. It’s located in the hood, so most people would not be comfortable coming here. However it has a down south Memphis feel.

Wow! That was some real good wings!!! Sweet spicy love! Uncle Lou was kind enough to take a pic with us! Wings were off da chain and the honey biscuits were on point. Ya gotta get you some when you come to Memphis!!! My cousins the Obama’s were here earlier and didn’t tell me cuz I don’t like to pay!

The best chicken of all time. I look forward to my yearly trip to Memphis to stop here and actually talk to Lou himself. He makes the experience awesome. The biscuits are like icing to a cake.

It sure is great to have a relative in the family who knows how to fry some chicken! Now I’ve got an uncle who does. It was good, but as Shania Twain put it, that don’t impress ah me much. First time here I was a little confused with the ordering process and wound up with a sandwich. This time I had to go try some fried chicken. It was served hot which is important to me. I think that might have had something to do with their fryers but I can’t be sure. Served hot(spicy) simply means they dredge it through hot wing sauce. Did not care at all for this at all. Use seasonings for spicy, don’t try to turn my breast into a hot wing! I don’t like long paragraphs, so I’ll start a new one. To me, the chicken was a little dry. Not much, mind you, but grandma made better fried chicken in her iron skillet. My wife’s is better as well. My favorite in the whole world is what the girls in Mason can cook. Please don’t tell my wife that! It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but maybe I expected too much. It was worth every bit of 4 stars, but not 5. The corn nuggets are much better than the Burger King onion rings, but they are pre made and sold frozen. Why can’t I get mashed potatoes and gravy with fried chicken? I wish the girls in Mason had that too. I thought the price was great and the value was definitely there. Good choice if you find yourself in Whitehaven. Final thoughts. My plate was served almost as fast as I sat down. Great place for time constraints. The biscuit was flavored with honey. Not my favorite in the world, but it wasn’t bad. I loaned you an extra star on my previous visit, and you did not earn it back.

Strip mall sketchy. Awesome chicken. Any questions? If you’re anywhere near Memphis then you’ve gotta try Uncle Lou’s fried chicken. Yea, it made the DDDTV show, but folks are lining up out the door for some consistently amazing food. Juicy/succulent fried chicken — no grease — served right! Get yourself some homestyle(just real good fried chicken/no spice) or go for the best: Sweet Spicy Love(Mild or Hot). This is damn good chicken. Throw in some to die for sides: Corrupted carrots, fresh coleslaw, and his yummy honey buttered biscuits. WOW! Service was fast and bus staff helpful and there were enough tables to accommodate the lunch crowd. Note: This is about the food folks, so get over the fact that the place is rough around the edges. You’re not goin’ there for the ambiance!

Passing through Memphis we found out DDD had visited this joint and it just happened to be right on our way. I ordered a three-piece chicken meal. Two pieces were«homestyle» and one piece had their spicy love sauce. Both preparations were ridiculously great! I don’t think I can pick which I would get next time. The pieces were large and juicy, and just may be the best fried chicken I have ever had. The honey biscuits were crazy(in the best possible way). The fries were okay, but made awesome when sprinkled with their«Corruption» seasoning. Uncle Lou himself came out check on us and other diners, and everyone who worked there was so helpful and friendly. Is the strip mall in which it is located nice? Nope. Is the bathroom barely passable? Yep. Barely. Does it matter? No, because this is a «dive» or a «joint» with great food and that’s pretty much all that matters.

Maybe it’s me… but I cannot find any good words for this place. The food was«not good» and that just because I don’t want to be more harsh… but no one allow to have place so dirty as this one. For whatever reason my wife refuse to leave… so I stay and eat. Sorry — but I will not come back His wife want add: This is a fast food place. A charming place with kind people. The biscuit was the best I ever eat. The corn too. You get plenty food for your money. So, if you like fried food, yummy chicken, and you are visiting the city and have a little time — go there. It is a uniq spot and I can understand why people like it.

Diners, drive ins and dives! While in Memphis, I had to do as Memphis’ians would do! Under the recommendation of a friend, I stopped in this gem for a bite to eat. Dive is definitely a great description. Total hole in the wall type of place — it was missing only the bar with a bartender who knew everyone’s problems. Man, that would be awesome. Anyway, after looking over the menu, I opted for something simple — Uncle Lou’s tenders(four) with fries, cole slaw and a biscuit with a drink. That set me back $ 17. But it was worth it. Really tasty and God help me, I could have eaten 100 of those biscuits. I think what I really liked about the place was the people. All the staff members acknowledged us and asked how we were doing — even the guys who came out from the kitchen to deliver food to other tables. Uncle Lou himself even stopped to talk to us. He was exactly what I expected — round, happy and full of southern hospitality. Those biscuits, tho …

Uncle Lou’s has been one of the best lunch spots in town for a long time. Tucked In a strip mall, it is def a hidden gem. There are two places to buy this chicken: either at the restraint or at one of the Memphis Tigers 6 – 7 home football games at the Liberty bowl. I had the tenders, hot uncle Lou’s version. Absolutely have to try the signature hot sauce. I also got the corruption carrots which are the bomb dig. Honestly I uncover something I was unaware of in the menu every time I go. My counterpart had the wings and they liked them as well. Oh, and don’t forget to try the honey biscuits, they are world famous! Side Note: uncle Lou himself can always be found in the restraint thanking his customers and showing hat he cares. Truly a personal home town fee to eating. At his place knowing he sees most all the food before hitting the table. Nice work Lou — keep trucking homie.

Despite the hype and a giant poster of Guy Fieri on their window, I still love this place! It’s a must for us every time we travel through Memphis. It’s greasy goodness and its finest! Who know the healthy carrot could become so corrupt? It does here. I always get the same order. Two chicken wings and one breast and split an order of carrots with my husband. People rave over the biscuits but they are a tad bit too sweet for me. I don’t waste my fat and cholesterol ration on the fries. For me it’s all about Lou’s chicken. There is always a line but it moves fast and I’ve met some of the nicest people here, both the staff and the customers are great. Walk in, have some of the best fried chicken evah and leave with smile on your face!

Hands down, this was the greet fried chicken experience I’ve had ever!!! The staff we’re super cool, and I had the biggest and juiciest chicken breasts coated in a sweet spicy sauce so good it could have come from heaven direct. Add this to the corrupted carrots(it’s amazing that one could corrupt something so healthy with deep fried love), onion rings, deep fried pickles and son yum dessert. This place deserves an honorable in the top ten of chicken shacks to visit before you die.

Places like this are so awesome. That said I almost drove off. Not because of the neighborhood. Not because of the 3 huge scary cops in body armor but because of the full-size posters of that clown Guy Fieri all over the place. I got over my queasiness and dove in. As much as the Ultimate Monster Burger appealed to me I had to try the chicken on my first trip. I ordered a 3PC spicy dark with fries and a diet coke. The chicken was perfect. Yep. Perfect. Cooked to order like Gus’ does. Next trip I’ll update with a burger review. Worth the trip.

Yeah, buddy. This stuff is good. I was a little hesitant because the restaurant isn’t in the best area of town… but once you sit down and eat, that is the last thing on your mind. I stuffed my face silly and wanted more. Oh, and Guy Fieri’s face is literally everywhere… they’re undoubtedly proud they appeared on the show.
