Uptown Square

I lived at Uptown Square Apartments for two years, and I really enjoyed living there. We had a 2 bedroom Garden layout and it was gigantic. The window sills were wide enough to use as shelves; there was a built-​in bookcase and plenty of storage. It was an easy walk to Beale, and a good run over the bridge to Mud Island.
The office employees were wonderful, especially Melissa. She gave me a referral discount when an acquaintance moved in, but couldn’t remember my last name. Once i forgot to get a visitor’s tag for my boyfriend’s car and it got towed. I was so embarrassed! But when I spoke to the office about it, they arranged for us to pick up his car without having to pay a fee.
The amenities were great: pool, fitness center, gated entrances, etc. And rent was totally reasonable here. I am SO glad I lived here and didn’t sign a lease anywhere on Mud Island. If the apts look a little dated, it’s because management is barred from updating them due to their historical significance. Elvis lived here during his childhood (?!)
Maintenance and security were very helpful here. Memphis gets a bad reputation, but I always felt safe here. Very convenient to I-​40 and Poplar, as well as downtown. I had some good times here, for sure.
