The UPS Store

I have never had a good experience there. Be prepared to package your own stuff, because they’ll charge you just for putting something in a box. And ALWAYS bring your own tape because they’ll charge you for that as well. I brought a package in and needed to tape the label on. After asking the lady (I did not get her name, I believe she is the manager) for a few pieces, she says if I need tape I will have to buy a roll from them. If I wouldn’t buy a roll, they’d seal my package and label with a flimsy patch that looked like it could peel off if you breathed on it. I will not be going there again.

I have know Chuck for years, and he does a lot of business packing and shipping for me. He is honest and reliable.
He does fantastic custom packing and can ship expensive items flawlessly.
His pricing and service is top notch, I can’t say enough good things about him and his business.

I live in town and do a lot of mailing. I like to support local business and since I do a lot mailing I feel a private business would treat me better than the USPS (which is exactly the case at the UPS store close to my work). Sadly, this is not the case here in Mendham.
I have shipped from here a few dozen before finally getting offended enough (and nickel and dimed) to boycott. It is owned and operated by a husband, wife and, son each one is more inept than the next. As the previous poster said If your package is needs any prep expect at least 20 bucks. They are slow and spend a lot of time gossiping and a long line at the counter doesn’t seem to make them lower their voice or stop the chit chat and gossip. I’ve also had more than one package disappear from here. The also don’t do the gratis stuff like let you drop a FedEx package there that the other stores I have used do.
The thing that made me boycott them though was their total disregard for my privacy. They always seemed way too interested in what was getting mailed and to who (and wanting to gossip with me about other customers). One package was a little sensitive and despite me saying I didn’t want to talk about with a very clear disdain in my voice they continued to insult me about it.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE experience at this place.
Basically, the guy charged me a «$ 20.00 flat fee» to put the stuff I brought to him in a box as I watched him do it. The box was probably 4 – 5 bucks and that was the only cost I was incurring… I had prepaid labels… all I needed was the box, that’s it… just the box and I expressed that to this Chuck character and he said «well, I could charge you for the tape»…and then I said «well, at every other place I go to, they just charge me for the box and nothing else»…the guy was not having it, said «I have been doing this 20 years and they must be the only ones not charging».
The guy was rude, dirty, and frankly, I would never recommend anyone go here, do business here, or go in this place. The guy was a MAJOR RIPOFF, he was charging me for things EVERY OTHER UPS STORE NEVER charge me for… I ship hundreds of packages a year and this character thought he would charge me a «$ 20.00 packaging fee» for a darn box.
Disgusting.
You should be ashamed of yourself, Chuck.
UPDATE: So I spoke with my father who also went into this store and had the exact SAME EXPERIENCE with the EXACT SAME GUY… gotta love this Chuck character. This time, my dad wanted to fax 2 pages out of state… the charge to my dad? «$ 20.00»…20 effing dollars to fax two pages man? you have got to be kidding me. This guy is a crook, criminal, schemer etc. and I will NEVER EVER EVER go there again and I will never ever ever let anyone I know or come into contact with go to him ever.
