Well since I took a picture while my wife was inside I had to write. And yes I did browse through the shop as well. Actually we picked up a Great Wall mounted hat /coat /key rack hat we put on the entry hall. So yep they’ve got some great things, many are pricey but there are many reasonably priced items as well. Lots of metal artwork for the garden. Lots of dishes and other things for the home and kitchen. Definitely a place you need to stop in while visiting Mendocino.

Came back after two years and the store is as charming as it was when I first set foot. I did notice they added a few new products but for the most part everything else has remained the same. This time around I was in the market for a Mendocino drink coaster and sure enough I found one with a delightful crap motif on it. I almost purchased several cookbooks for my mom since this seems to be her thing since retirement but then I realized French cooking is not her thing and she has too many Italian cookbooks. One more thing to note, Sallie was not there but here’s hoping she retired or scaled back her hours because she was and probably still is the cutest thing on the Mendo coast! :)

You cannot miss this store on a trip to the Mendo/Fort Bragg area. Totally delightful staff/owners, beautiful, unique items, the annual Paris Flea Market is wonderful. Sallie Mac is by far my favorite store in Mendocino.

We used Sallie Mac for all our bridal party gifts for our wedding back in 2000. They did incredible baskets full of goodies. On our most recent trip to Mendo, I had to stop in to see all their latest goodies & purchased a long grey cashmere scarf, that I’ve been living in & some other fun«must haves». One must have was a bracelet that sadly broke after a couple months of wearing it and when I contacted Bill at Sallie Mac, he kindly sent me a new one at no charge! That is customer service at it’s best! It’s a high end shop in a sweet little laid back town & I love it.

Love the cute shop in downtown Mendo! The staff it always super friendly and they have a wonderful assortment of unique gifts. It’s hands down my favorite shop in Mendocino(except maybe the Carmel apple shop, ha)

Don’t miss this shop. Every time you walk in there are new, clever gifts, many of which you must have for yourself. Have you ever waked into a store and liked the merchandise so much that you ask yourself — «I must have that… now where would I put it?» That applies to Sally Mac. There is something for everyone — humorous golf chairs, interesting jewelry, art, seasonal items, tabletop gifts, Italian leather goods, baby gifts, garden items, and European toiletries with compelling natural scents. The staff is welcoming and friendly, offering help —(which I like) without hovering —(which I hate). It’s worth your time to swing by and check out the newest offerings.

Lots of cute stuff — much of it with a French theme — and all of it beyond my budget. I enjoyed browsing, but didn’t purchase anything. The price tag made even the cute stuff less than tempting. I fell in love with a wristlet wallet with cell phone pocket. It was in beautiful colors of orange, red, pink, and navy and was real, very soft leather. Imported from Italy. Totally gorgeous, but couldn’t swallow the $ 97 price tag!

Since we visited Mendocino/Ft Bragg over Christmas, I wanted to bring back an ornament to enjoy every year as a memento. After looking into several shops in both towns, I came across Sallie Mac and was thrilled by the ambience, variety of items, and merchandizing in this store. Great place to find beautiful and unusual items. Plus, ornaments were 50% off(after Christmas) and everything else was 15% off — so I splurged a little :-)

super cute shop with fun /useful stuff, but this review is mostly for the stellar service. kid you not, when an item I purchased here turned out to have a product defect, they shipped me a replacement faster and with less hassle than Amazon(Prime). thank you Sallie Mac, i’ll be back :)

Cute little shop, but it really just carries the typical gift shop trinkets.

On my last review I mentioned I gave Sallie Mac 3 stars because I had ordered an item and after 2 months I never heard anything back from them. I was disappointed, but really loved the store. I got a phone call from one of the gals there this last week. She explained to me that she thinks that the order may have been put off until a bulk order could be made, but that the coat I order was finally in. This is about 2 ½ months later, and by this time I had already bought the coat elsewhere believing that my order was somehow overlooked. The gal I spoke to was so kind and understanding about that and expressed her sympathies for the wait. Even though the order wasn’t handled very well, I really appreciated the kindness of this Sallie Mac employee in trying to reach me and get the item to me, despite the long wait. Thank you!

A wonderful find in Mendocino! This store has treats for your senses(L’Occitaine and several other wonderful European lines), lovely blankets, bath products… really too much to describe: go see and enjoy for yourself. I went in more than once and came out with something each time. The staff was friendly: not in that fake«I want to sell you something» way, but in a genuine sincere way. Refreshing! They know their merchandise, but there is no pressure to buy. The store is set up for easy browsing. Items seem to trend toward European(mostly French and Italian flavor from what I remember). Drop in… you won’t be disappointed!

What a treat for the senses! Sallie Mac has so many beautiful things to delight the senses — best soap selection in Mendocino. Everything in the shop is clearly chosen with love and care. I could spend all day there — and the man working was very sweet, friendly and wrapped my little gift with care. A truly gorgeous shop.

Omigosh! What a GREAT treat to find this shop! It is beautifully organized, and has a gift for just about any taste and price range. I bought a wonderful angel bird feeder(out the back door and down the steps for garden items) and two locally made driftwood birdhouses(one is a gift). Mary is the sweetest lady and offered to gift wrap the items. The store got very busy, so I let the other customers go first to give Mary a little more time. I will definitely return to this eclectic mix of imports, artistic hand made items, and unique antiques and kitchen/bathroom and garden gadgets. Do pay this store a visit!

LOVE this store. How can I not love any store that has a resident doggie? :) Wonderful things to comb through. Home, kitchen, bags, knick-knacks… all with French flair. Large selection of L’Occitaine products as well. Bought two bars of soap. One in a delicious apple/pear scent, the other in a berry scent. Couldn’t walk out without a little something!

Three stars because we found two bargains: a long, skinny dress mirror, and a bird branch coat hanger. One more star because the clerk helped us carry both of the items back to the car. Good service.

Happened upon this little place while visiting Mendo over the New Year’s holiday… it’s tucked away on Lansing, but you pass it by and think… I gotta get in there! To my husband’s chagrin, I came out with a big bag of goodies about 20 minutes later. They have super cute home and garden items, think fun scented soaps and paperwhites with rocks and vases for you to grow your own. It’s kind of ‘french country’ themed in terms of what they carry, a lot of cute, kitschy items. When we were in there they had a sale on all their Xmas stuff and their paperwhite growing items so I got some sweet deals on clear paperwhite growing vases, and a few Xmas items at half off. The service was GREAT, one of the guys was wandering around and offered to help find something, he even got me a basket even when I said I didn’t need one(I really did). I could have spent way more time and money in there, but my lingering husband outside reminded me that I had to be quick with the shopping, darnit.
