Jason Hilberg was enormously helpful to my young son following a tragedy in our family. We were referred to him by a family whose son Dr. Hilberg helped with anxiety issues. He is highly recommended and we are grateful to him.

Dr. Hilberg was our family’s first exposure to therapy and it was not a pleasant experience at all. We have only seen him 4 times but we can deduct that this doctor is in it ONLY for the money. Since I was new to the therapy process, I did not know is was on a cash basis, meaning I wrote a check after each session. At our first session, I did not bring my checkbook but at the very next weekly session, I promptly paid him for 2 sessions to included what I missed the first time. On our 3rd visit, he was rather aggressive in telling me as I am writing him a check, that I owed him now for 2 sessions again. We went back and forth and I told him I would pay for today’s session only and would email him a copy of the cleared check where I paid him for the first unpaid session. Only then would he back off and barely apologized for coming at my so aggressively. I’ve called him frantically to seek advice, as I can only assume people seeking mental help do not have problems that can be confined to normal business hours and within a paid session, all he offered me was to make another appointment to go over strategies and some online resources. I was FRANTIC on the phone and his response did not make me feel any better. In fact, I felt even more isolated. The next session, he proposed a diagnosis without any strategies and continued with his line of lets make another appointment to go over strategies and possible treatment. We had to cancel an appointment due to the holidays and he said he never got our message so he charged us for that appointment. We went back and forth playing phone tag and he finally offered to split his fee with me, even though we eft the message within his 48 hour courtesy request. He just wants to set up more appointments so that he has someone paying his car payments. I don’t know for a fact if he has our son’s best interest at heart but I seriously distrust him at this point. He reminds of the 976 physic hotlines that would charge you to hear more and all you were left with was a big phone bill and no insight into your life or problems.
