Well– new owner– new chef has done nothing to impress us. Mongolian lamb was bland. Throwing dried chilies in, is not enough. It had no kick at all. It was cooked well but that’s it My hubbies sweet n sour pork — meh. They separated it from the sauce and it was lots of fried batter on the pork but not good at all. The chow mein. Kinda greasy, no bean sprouts(what?!?) and over all, we are not impressed.

So so sad they are closing in 2 days. I really hope the new owners keep the chicken salad the same.

Bland, overpriced Chinese food. They are quick and consistent at least, but you can get much better elsewhere(eg Shiok or Steam).

BLAND food all around(chowmein, garlic chicken, potstickers). Even the fortune cookie had no taste. Cashier could care less about my business.

Hands down the best Chinese food in the south Bay Area. If you are anywhere near Menlo Park and craving Chinese food, don’t even waste your time looking up any other places. Another place nearby boasts they have the best pot stickers, they don’t. Su Hongs has awesome regular and veggie potstickers. The egg rolls are bomb. The chicken salad is so awesome and a staple in the order, and it’s refreshing and filling in the good way. I have tried a variety of items off the menu for years and they have all been pretty satisfying, some really good. For anyone looking to do gluten-free, they do have brown rice and rice noodles. It’s easy to call in and order and they are consistent enough in the orders(95%) accurate. It is easy to order a lot of dishes, which adds up price wise, but they do offer lunch plates and they have different sizes for different items. Whenever I am craving Chinese food, I find myself at this place. Also, they have an awesome old school Ms. Pacman arcade machine to play on while you wait.

Ok, to start. I tend to pick up food from this place a few times a year, to be fair I am a repeat customer and will continue to be. With that said, I will say this is by far to most inconsistent place for pick up. Sometimes i find myself waiting too long for a order I called in far in advance. I feel like if they are going to tell me it will be 15 – 20 and I show up at 30 minutes later I should not have to wait to long right? Wrong. It’s like you just checked in and the order you called in did not matter. Second, most all of their breaded items are always way to greasy. Sometimes I forget and I try and order an item like the Honey walnut Shrimp and I live to regret it. Third, I know it’s a to go place and your not really paying for service, yet everyone I get acts like I’m bothering them when I tell them I’m there for my togo order. Is it really too much to be friendly and smile a little. If you pick it right, you can get some good things here. Just know it will not be the fastest and friendliest service and you might want to reconsider ordering that egg roll!

Over price and too greasy egg rolls. It seems like everyone in menlo park loves this place, I do not get it. I rather go to Panda Express, better price.

Two words… LUNCHSPECIAL! Comes with steamed or fried rice, veggie chow mein, an egg roll and your choice of entrée. The Kong Pou Chicken is always on point! Been coming here for lunch on Fridays for years now. Never disappoints!

I don’t know what’s going on with this place. Their prices are too high for a to go place whose food is not at par with(what is to be) the dine-in place(now closed). However, there are two good things I enjoy from this place. One is their General Chicken and the other their Pot stickers.

Finally! Chinese food that doesn’t taste like dessert. Case in point is the popular chicken salad. The dressing is sesame based and not a drop of sugar. The spicy chicken garlic is diced white meat and perfect for low sauce low sugar all protein meal. With most chinese and thai and Vietnamese restaurants piling on the sugar to Americanize the flavor Sue Hongs stands apart! It’s nice to taste Asian flavors at an Asian place for a change.

Very basic Chinese food and not at all to the standards of even good Chinese fast food. The lunch special was tasteless and had no Chinese flavors. The Chinese chicken salad was mushy, had boiled pieces of chicken and not at all what the regular restaurants serve. They are fresh and crisp and have flavors unlike this one. The Hot and sour soup was also nothing out of this world and wondering how people are flocking here for their take out orders.

The food here is fair. The kung pao chicken is pretty good with lots of peanuts on the side. The portions are small and prices are high for Chinese food… usually known for its affordability. $ 11.95 for special noodle soup??? $ 10.95 for special won ton soup? Also the takeout box with the figure of a woman wearing a kimono kneeling as she serves food is not tasteful. I wish they would throw the boxes out. You’re next to Stanford University afterall. We would come back here because it’s the closest takeout Chinese food here that is decent. And people do pay the price and admittedly so do we.

Best Chinese on the peninsula, I’ve tried it all and can’t find anything that compares to Su Hong! The General’s Chicken is like eating small pieces of heaven, perfectly seasoned, hot, and fresh. The chow mein and pot stickers are also amazing. Actually, everything I’ve tried is amazing. Call ahead to have food ready when you get there. Prices are a bit higher than other places, but you should expect that in Menlo Park. Sadly, they’ve closed the sit down version of Su Hong, but when that was open it was great, too.

In my opinion, this is the best Chinese food on on the peninsula. The food was fresh and hot and ready within 15minutes after ordering at the counter. the customer service was great and welcoming. I ordered shrimp fried rice; very skimpy on the shrimp, beef and broccoli; loads of broccoli, great sauce, veggies in black bean sauce; great sauce and beautiful fresh veggies, and sweet and sour chicken; for the hubby. All of it was tasty and satisfying. Im a big big fan

I actually gave this place a few more chances and the food was much better then my first experience here and I really enjoy the food… This is actually one of the few Chinese food restaurants that I frequent. Glad that I have not had any other bad experiences.

We ordered the walnut prawns for lunch from here but had a bit of a surprise when they came disassembled! We were given the sauce and walnuts on the side, which was a bit strange… Makes sense, I suppose, for a place that primarily does takeout since the sauce might make the prawns soggy, though I’ve never had that problem anywhere else before. We also tried the veggie potstickers, which were really good– very lemongrass-y, I think? Or maybe gingery. Tasty either way. Experience-wise, it took longer than I would have expected from a takeout place to get our food, and I do wish they had more outdoor seating since the ambiance of the restaurant is nothing special. Overall, there aren’t too many other Chinese options within walking distance of here, so I’ll probably be back… I just may go for some other menu options that will come quickly and fully assembled.

What is there to say? It’s Chinese take-out. I used to eat here all the time in high school, but I feel like the quality of the food has declined a bit of late… All while their prices stay high. Is it bad food? No. Is it good food? Eh, I’ve had better, and, like others have commented, for a better price. The free tea and the water pitcher is a nice touch though!

The price is good but I found the food quite bland. Definitly quick so to go is the right name for this place an they have a kitchen full of people to make sure its so. Great service, If anything the Tan Tan noodle here is excellent. Everything else here is quite bland . Thats a big one for me
