Fun. Over priced drinks, but it’s at the Rosewood on Sand Hill so wouldn’t expect anything less.

Ok, I am a big fan of Rosewood property in general. I work across the parking lot, so this is the spot for business lunch(Madera), cheezy/cougar filled happy hour(madera), and my favorite quick sandwich to go(spa café). They just opened a restaurant poolside which provides an additional dining option. Seems like they are still working out the kinks. Menu sounds good, and is priced same as main restaurant(sandwiches $ 14 – 20, ice tea $ 6), so its what you would expect at high end resort. Setting is quite nice, with a small collection of tables under a slatted roof, great view of the pool. Execution was a little sloppy, as service was slow and recs were off point. Waiter loved the turkey kefta kabobs, so we ordered them. They were dry and not that interesting. I was drawn to chicken and chorizo kabobs with cilantro emulsion, which ended up sounding way better than it was and chicken was overcooked. Burger remains probably the safest bet(colleague ordered without cheese, it came with). Probably a better spot if you plan on a 2 hour lunch with a couple of beers than a quick work lunch with colleagues. Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Bees /yellowjackets are VORACIOUS! for an $ 18 burger, you would think they could invest in a few traps/zappers.
