You and I Montessori School

We feel so blessed to have found this gem of a school! Ms. Varuni is a truly gifted and dedicated teacher/​director with more than 25 years experience.
Two years ago, when I was searching for a preschool for my shy (then) 3 year old son, I wanted to find a small, safe, and nurturing environment where he could be stimulated to discover new things. I had a vague notion of Montessori principles, but more importantly, I sensed that Ms. Varuni had a very strong devotion to her students and that her number one priority was the wellbeing of the children. So we enrolled my son, and away we went — on an amazing journey of discovery. My son is learning about nature, geography, language, mathematics and how to be a member of a peaceful and compassionate children’s community. All the while, my husband and I are enjoying precious moments as my son is blossoming into a creative and articulate 5 year old.
As a physician, I am continually impressed by Ms. Varuni’s wisdom and thoughtful insights into my son’s personality, interests, and developmental needs. As a mother, I am very grateful for her guidance and suggestions to help my son gain confidence to become an independent person as he explores the world around him. I admire Ms. Varuni’s unwavering commitment to do what is right for the child and her ability to empower each child to become the person he/​she should be. It is simply amazing to watch children thrive in this loving and supportive environment.

You will not find a better Montessori education than at You and I. My daughter has been with Ms. Varuni for two years and her social, emotional, and academic growth has been truly amazing. She has a special gift with children and it is evident the first moment you speak with her. My daughter absolutely loves Ms. Varuni and when there are long school breaks, she asks for Ms. Varuni and wants to go back to school. Ms. Varuni is more than our daughter’s teacher, she is a true partner in helping us raise a confident, well-​rounded, and happy child. Ms. Varuni’s passion and commitment to the overall well-​being of her students and her gentle, graceful approach are some of the qualities that make her an exceptional teacher. We are extremely lucky to have found Ms. Varuni and to be a part of the close knit You and I community.

My 4 year old son started with You and I Montessori a year ago. After surveying every Montessori school on the Peninsula, I quickly realized that it’s the head teacher that makes all the difference at a Montessori school, and that difference is Ms. Varuni. Ms. Varuni is truly a gifted child whisperer with years of experience. She develops curiosity in children that makes learning so enjoyable for them.
She frequently provides advice on how my husband and I can work with our son at home… anything from learing how to become focused, to grace and courtesy.
Frankly, she has made me a better parent, and I am so extremely thankful that I was able to find her school for my son. I cannot recommend You and I Montessori School enough.
Update on 11/​16/​2011: I still love this school! My son, after turning 5, started reading really well, and now is onto multiplication. Ms. Varuni has definitely nstilled the love of learning in my son.

My child has been Ms. Varuni’s student since the age of three. I have been amazed with the transformation that I have seen. My child has gone from quiet and shy to a self-​assured, happy and fun-​loving kindergartener who is curious about the world, compassionate about helping others, and confident in being a leader. I attribute this all to Ms. Varuni and her gifted ability to nurture, enrich and teach young children. Ms. Varuni believes that every child is special and precious, and she is able to bring out the best in her students. I love the cozy and homey feel of the school, as well as the fabulous backyard where the kids learn how to tend and cultivate their own garden.
