One of Menomonee Falls best fish fries. Great fish. Amazing potato pancakes and the best German potato salad EVER. Cash only. Boooo. But amazing.

Service was good but when i bit into my burger there was wax paper still stuck to the bottom of it… then i ordered a tap beer and got the wrong one! The beer wasn’t a big deal but the wax paper… really? On top of that some of the locals that go there were very rude and asked me and my fiancé to move during the middle of our dinner so that they could play there game at the bar! Overall not a good experience!

Great food(Friday fish fry), service was okay. Seemed they were overwhelmed at dinner time. We would have stayed longer but as soon as we were done eating we got the bill so figured it was their way of saying move along for the next group to sit down.

Hard to believe when you initially drive up that this is the place to take in a Friday Night Fish Fry. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Friendly wait staff and outstanding food! Food was delivered quick, hot and delicious.

If you appreciate some mighty fine home cooking you’ll Love this place! The Best by far of any Fish Fry I’ve ever experienced. Had the beer battered cod. Light & crisp batter with tasty flakey cod. P-cakes were crisp edges brown on sides creamy taters w/onion. German p-salad homemade was a taste sensation. Bacon & eggs & onion & taters & just the right amount of sugar & vinegar. Whole meal was truly damn good. Check it out.

Great fish fry, clean and fun people. I will definitely be back. Perch was the best of the fry choices but all were tasty.

In the year-and-a-half’ish I’ve been bellying up at Belly Up, I’ve become intensely curious about their food. During that time I’d heard countless bar regulars and people in my community rave about what the owner, Becky, is able to do with what should be forgettable bar food.(Plus, I’m a food dweeb, so I’m eternally curious about food. Sometimes it works out in my favor. Other times, like when I tried durian gelato, it only ends in tears and emotional distress.) Last night I was FINALLY able to make it in during Becky’s dinner hours and it was such a treat. Firstly, I should note that Becky is fiercely proud of her little local establishment and, when asked politely, was more than happy to give a tour(really, she was showing off, and I found she had every reason to) of her kitchen. It’s a tiny little space, so I was amazed at what she does for her hungry, beer-drinking admirers. And folks, allow me to say that, though it was small, it was EASILY one of the cleanest and well-kept kitchens I’ve ever seen.(I’ve seen my share of kitchens, too: old, new, state-of-the-art, bare-bones, immaculate, and downright scary. One of the scariest is actually less than a mile away. Chew on THAT.) I’d heard Becky does one of the best fish frys in the area, so my dining partner(my dad! DADDY-DAUGHTER-DATE-NIGHT!) and I had come in looking for beer-battered cod. Dad and I are far from being fish fry connoisseurs, but we lived in Seattle for a few years and developed, shall we say, «certain standards» for seafood.(We spoiled. That’s it.) When we changed our minds and opted for baked cod over fried, I’ll admit it somehow felt like a gamble. Imagine my shell-shocked surprise when our server(Becky’s sister!) delivered HEAVENON A PLATE: firm, flakey, clean, topped with a small amount of tender, sauteed onions and other simple seasonings. Too many restaurants drown their baked cod in over-seasoned, buttery sauces, leaving one wondering if their intent was to mask the flavor of less-than-fresh fish. The star of our show, the awesome fish, was truly able to shine. So much so, in fact, that I nearly forgot about the single, a la carte piece of beer-battered cod I’d ordered as an after thought. I devoured that in seconds. Awesome awesome awesome. Our side dishes — buttered baby red potatoes for me and homemade, warmed German potato salad for daddio — were tasty, too. I say that’s all wasted real estate in the end, though, because the cod is what really deserves your attention. I salute you, Lady Becky! What an impressive and unforgettable fish fry!

I love this place! It’s a nice hide-a-way. The first compliment I must give this place is all the staff is friendly. The drinks are reasonably priced and they offer food. I have only tried the onion rings because I was not very hungry at the time, but I was looking at other patrons plates and the burgers look awesome. I was also told that their fish fry is better than my favorite place MJ Stevens which is my all time favorite. However, I told them I would be back and give the fish and the food a try. If you are looking for a nice clean and inviting place to drink then give this place a try. I would be a bar fly at this place more often ;)

Every time I’ve driven through this little subdivision in Menomonee Falls, I couldn’t help but smile that there’s a bar in the middle of it and it’s always busy. I had been craving a good olé honest to goodness fish fry for quite sometime and rumor has it that Belly Up’s was pretty good. We got nailed with snow the night we had planned on going, but ventured out anyway and I couldn’t be more happy that we did. Honestly, the best fish fry I’ve had in years. The place is small, seats filled up pretty quickly from 6:30 on. Our waitress was awesome, our beer was $ 2.25 and served in a chilled mug and they had everything from PBR to New Glarus on tap. I had the regular olé fish fry, with potato pancakes and I believe it was $ 8.50. The pieces of fish were huge and cooked perfectly, the potato pancakes were almost as good as my grandma’s and the two of them each were just about the size of a salad plate each. All in all this fish fry is more than worth the trip to the Falls. During lent I believe they also serve it on Wednesdays as well, but you may want to call ahead to make sure. I do believe I’ll be swinging by there again this Friday. Just typing about it has made me hungry for it all over again.
