Since the move to the new location on Appleton Ave., both times I have been there, there have been issues with our projects. One project got broken somehow(never got a clear explanation there, but did get to re-do the project for additional cost), and just recently, I went there to pick up my daughter’s project. It was promised on Sunday, but I was unable to get there until Wednesday.(Three days past when it was promised to be ready) When I arrived, the project could not be located, and I was initially offered the excuse of a Thanksgiving back up.(nevermind that the project was done a few days AFTER Thanksgiving, and there really shouldn’t have been any back ups) Then I was told that it was«still in the kiln», although it was apparent that they had NOIDEA where it was. I was assured I would be called RIGHTAWAY when the kiln cooled down on Thursday. No call. Finally, on Friday afternoon, I called them to see where my item was. I was first told that«there was a problem with the glaze». When I asked what that meant, I was then told it was«still in the kiln». SERIOUSLY??? I asked to talk with the manager, but was told that she was out on her«overland trucking route» and wouldn’t be back in the store until the weekend. Ummm, what is a MANAGER of a store doing on a trucking route? Then I asked who was in charge until the manager came back. The kid on the phone said, «Ummm, me?», like he wanted me to confirm. While I was still on the phone with the«interim manager» trying to figure out what to do, guess what! My mug magically turned up on their pick up shelf, but it was«behind a bag», so automatically that meant it was lost forever because heaven forbid anyone LIFT a bag and look BEHIND it, especially at Christmas time when everyone and their brother are making gifts, which they may or may not get because they might end up «behind a bag». Sorry, Kiln Time, you have a great concept for a store and a cute space(still with a serious lack of decent parking), but there are some real monkeys running the zoo. Consumers, beware!

I love going to paint pottery here. They have glass too. It’s really a family friendly environment and the staff is super helpful. My friends and I frequent here just to paint and visit. They keep a great variety of selections and there is always something new. We have all had some great looking pottery come out of the kiln. I would, and have, recommend Just Kiln Time to tons of people. If your looking for some low stress fun this is the place to go.
