They close six times a year to have concerts. Since when is it okay to close a public service just for the heck of it? They don’t post any signage announcing this is going to happen, so customers have no way of knowing. This organization is more interested in jazzy programs than basic customer service.

This place is newly renovated and as a great feel to the inside. Nice, relaxing, and(most important) extremely QUITE place to be. The library has books, computers, DVDs, CDs, and areas to read and break out rooms to study with partners at. I just recently joined the library and was thrilled with how easy it is to download eBooks directly onto my kindle without going to the library. It is amazing how many items are in stock with it being a smaller library system than Milwaukee(what I am used to).

As far as selection, this is a great place. They have a lot of great programs for kids as well. Now for the negative. I have been there a few times and have found the older women behind the counter to be extremely impolite! They seem bitter and uncaring to try to be personable with the library patrons. I will continue to go and get books, but will make my visits to their desks as quick as possible.

I have to thank the Weyenberg public library for giving me gainful employment(that doesn’t involve food service) for two and a half years of my teenage life. It taught me to quickly alphabetize things, it helped me find the oddest books ever hiding in the back of the shelves, and it taught me that people who steal from the honor snacks in the break room are evil, nasty people. That said, this is a large, lovely, sunny space with a good selection of books. It’s also quite useful for the cheapie DVD and CD rentals and a great place to spend some time just reading magazines. The selection is lacking, though, in GLBT and multicultural options, reflecting the Wonder Bread community it’s situated in. The library was renovated in the 1990’s and the new space is quite nice, but there is quite a bit of wasted space in the old areas. They should have hired a smarter architect.
