Decided to try this place out on Christmas Day as no where else is open. Called in my order at 6:30 was told it will be ready at 6:45. I showed up at 6:45 to probably 60 people in the very small lobby. The worker said we are just serving the 6pm orders, we are around an hour behind. How is this acceptable? If you would’ve told me on the phone that you were running an hour for take out I could’ve decided but instead you say 15min when they knew at 6:30 there were way behind. Unacceptable business practice. I decided to say forget it so I can’t rate the food but the service is not up to par. May not even give another chance. 1÷3÷16: decided to give this place another chance in hopes that the Xmas disaster was just due to a higher than usual volume. Well… not much better. Ordered at 5:45, told 30 minutes. Showed up at 6:25. No order ready… after complaining to the manager/owner he «rushed» my order and it came out around 6:50. An hour and 5minutes for carry out Chinese? Comn… Now, I did actually get food so I can review. Crab Rangoon: nice size and fry but no crab, just cream cheese Pork egg roll: not much pork, mostly cabbage but good General tso: good but not what we expected. No spicy red sauce, more like a king poa seasoning Hawaiian chicken: just chunks of deep fried chicken(no flavoring) served with a side of sweet and sour sweetened with some pineapple. The food overall is maybe a 6 out of 10. May try again as there is very few Chinese options in mequon

My friend and I were in mutually but separate desperate places. We were tired. We were worn down by the responsibilities of life. We were hangry. All day I had been thinking that Chinese food could cure what ailed me, so when he acknowledged that he too had no food in his house, I threw the Chinese remedy his way. He suggested this place, as we both live in the food desert known as the northshore. I had never heard of it, but being the adventurer that I am(I know what you are thinking, Chinese food is no adventure), I was game. I would say that the restaurant is pretty standard fare. Tucked away in a Mequon mini strip mall, I drove past it twice before noticing it.(Probably why I never noticed it before.) It was clean and well kept on the inside, and had a massive menu. We opted for the fried dumplings and an entrée for each. I had the Chicken Kung Pao and I must say, the ingredients were fresh and of very high quality. There was nothing about my experience here that blew me away, but on those dark, lonely, soul-sucking days where only Chinese food will do, Hong Anh Palace will surely be visited again.

Really good lunch buffet. Not a huge selection, but everything is good quality and flavor. I’m picky about my sesame chicken, and theirs was spot on. It’s missing some of the common staples, like egg rolls and crab Rangoon, but they cover chicken, beef, and pork, vegetable, noodle, fried rice, and egg drop soup. It was nice to see the healthier options as well. For about $ 8 it is a great value.

Great food! Great service! Speedy service! Our party of three was sated with just three items from the menu… We each had an egg roll(choice of with meat or vegetarian… since I don’t eat pork or shrimp it is always nice to have options), we had the Chinese chicken strips, tasty big portions with an Asian flavor and enough for each of us to have two pieces(you can go with the usual sweet and sour or the hot mustard but if you really want a kick, ask are your server for spicy chile sauce(crushed peppers in chili oil), we also had vegetarian fried rice with extra bean spouts and extra green onions, requesting it medium spicy. Don’t be afraid to specialize your order! Nice atmosphere and great prices!

Great egg rolls and won ton soup. My personal favorite dish is the Sesame Chicken but also recommend the Chicken with Pea Pods. Reasonably priced and friendly service.

I am a fan of this restaurant, but my most recent take out order was horrendous. Egg drop soup was«off». Appetizer shrimp were cold and powdery instead of crispy. We had a «House Special Sweet & Sour Combo». All of the meat was over fried. The combo is comprised of pork and chicken only, no shrimp. It was dry and very chewy. The sauce was very good. Off night? One more chance because when it’s good, it’s good

Every place has pro’s and con’s. Hong Anh Palace is no exception: Pro’s: The portions for the main dishes are very large and can each feed 2 people, especially if you have them with rice. The Vegetarian Lo Mein is very very good and the Vegetable Chop Suey is also good. They have many pretty fish in an aquarium near the door. The service is friendly, and the fortune cookies don’t have lard in them. The decorations are tasteful and the bathrooms are nice. You get a cookie and egg roll with the dinner version of what you order. Also, they are open for dinner on Sunday evening, which not everything is out in that area. Con’s: When you are driving out to the restaurant it comes up suddenly without much advance warning, especially if you go out along Port Washington and you start thinking that nothing commercial exists out there. The servers are overwhelmed when the dinner rush starts and thus may take a while to get to you. The mustard is probably hotter than you are expecting. When you go in the first time, the counter that you immediately encounter is only for take-out — this can be confusing. Regarding the vegetarian-friendly nature of this place, it’s not so much. Nothing is marked on the menu as vegetarian, and even things that say«Vegetable»(like«Vegetable Chop Suey») are very very likely to have oyster sauce or some meat-based sauce(despite the fact that only one thing says it has oyster sauce on the menu). When you ask if something is vegetarian, the servers will not consider the oyster sauce or meat-based sauces in their answer unless you specifically ask about that. The restaurant will substitute tofu for meat items on their menu, but they do not mention that on their menus and you have to ask about it. The egg rolls are also not vegetarian but can be made such if you specifically ask for it. All in all, this restaurant is not vegetarian-friendly, but otherwise OK if you go in knowing what to expect.

I am sooo tired of waitresses who do not speak English, or at least pretend not to, and don’t do anything we ask of her. It is a rather basic Chinese restaurant, and the menu is standard. Portions are big, but the food is hardly memorable. The service is abysmal — nothing we ordered came as ordered, drinks were forgotten. Prices are cheap, accordingly. Beautiful koi aquarium. I doubt we will go back, unless we get desperately hungry.

Best Chinese in the North Shore. The General Tso’s chicken was great. They only use white meat and it’s perfectly crispy. The fried rice and chicken lo mein are both good, too. Though not as tasty as the deep fried chicken. What they lack in atmosphere, they more than make up for with great service.

My favorite Chinese in the Milwaukee area. I can always count on them for super-fast takeout service and consistent quality. My go-to eats here are the wonton soup, chicken with broccoli and cashew chicken. I like how the sauces in these dishes are super flavorful without feeling too greasy. Even though I pretty much stick to a few favorites, I’m always impressed when I try bites of other ones too. I do wish that they still had their old location in the Mequon Pavilions, but since I mostly just get takeout anyway I can’t complain.

I was at the old location once, years ago, so the change does not bother me as it does some reviewers. While the décor is utilitarian, the restaurant is tidy. Sometimes stereotypically red hued and dimly lit Chinese restaurants feel stifling– that was not possible here. My husband and I walked in from a snow storm, and the temperature and atmosphere were comfortable. We chose seats next to the koi aquarium, which was clean and fun to watch. A good thing for kids. The aquarium had no odor… Like they sometimes do in restaurants. We started with the egg rolls. Yum. The filling had identifiable«stuff» and was homemade. The egg roll was part of my $ 13 meal package, which was a good deal. The egg roll was big, so one was enough. I got the house special– chicken, pork, and shrimp in a slightly spicy brown sauce. The portion was enough for two. What struck me was how fresh the vegetables were(broccoli, mushrooms, and baby corn) and how the sauce seemed homemade– not overly sticky or spiced like jarred stuff. I could smell hints of ginger and garlic, but neither was overpowering. While the meal was listed as «spicy», I felt the spice was mild. If you like spice, you may want to be specific about your preferred spice level. My husband got the pork lo mein dinner. The portion was also huge. The dish was tasty and the noodles were quality. Sometimes restaurants use spaghetti like noodles in this dish, but not here. More thought goes into the lo mein here. This was a nice find in Mequon. I wish I had a restaurant like this close to home for take out. Btw– the service was personable, attentive, and better than any I have had in a Chinese restaurant.

I was a little sad at the location change of one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area. But, the quality did not change. Hong anh does Chinese right and it has fair prices. The lunch buffet is my favorite! It has a lot to choose from and it’s only about $ 7! Hong anh will continue it’s success for a Long time!

This is the best Chinese restuarant in the Mequon area yet its new location leaves something to be desired. Working in Mequon, I spend a good amount of time checking out the local restaurants. This place has the best Chinese in the area that I get the lunch buffet with co-workers every now and then. The take out for game days or a quick meal at night is always delicious, fresh, and never have to check the order to make sure it is right. With that being said, the new location is about half to a third the size of the other location in the pavilion. This new location lacks the décor and ambiance that the other location had and the parking is a nightmare. The parking lot can fit about 25 cars but Hong Anh shares the lot with 3 other businesses, which leads to a lot of waiting for a spot or making your own. For lunch buffet, make sure you get there early(right at noon or a little before) since the last couple of times I have been there at 12:15 there has been a 20 minute or so wait for a table.

Likely the best Chinese I’ve had in several years! Its not cheap but it is a good value. The portions are HUGE We could have split one entrée for dinner and still had left overs. The quality and attention to the little things like presentation are wonderful here. I was shocked not to find more reviews for this great restaurant. The egg rolls are the best !!! we had orange beef and sesame chicken. Would recommend both and especially the orange beef.

I really love Hong anh and think it’s the best Chinese in the area. Everything is well done and tasty. Top 3 egg rolls easily. I rarely eat sweet and sour sauce but love it here. I used to eat here a lot for lunch when i worked in mequon. Buffet will have different items for different days. They moved and the new place is nice and i like the Koi in the aquarium rather than in the pond because you can see them better. If you want a good meal you can’t miss here.
